Thanks for great video with lots of information. However I'd like to know in which years the game ends. I'm googling for it but can't find any info except it's "somewhere in XV century". Could you clear it up?
Thanks for the lengthy preview. I'm glad to see Paradox allowing so much footage, though it seems a tad cruel because it only makes February come this much slower.. Please help us force Paradox to allow us into the beta as a preorder bonus! ;D
@funker42 I'll try, but I have to finish my Hearts of Iron 3 Let's Play first. Trying to do both of these at the same time would be quite challenging and it would take longer than it is now to finish the both of them.
Awww. Hurry up then ;) with CK2, most of us don't have access yet so please feel free to release any recording of CK 2 so we can scour it for more game play tidbits.
@tamius23 Hi! They chose that symbol for Norse heathenry in the game. It's a Valknut (The Binding of Slain Warriors) and it's a symbol of dedicating yourself to Odin for him to take for his purposes whenever he wishes. When seen on Runestones it's often accompanied by Odin taking that person's life with Gungnir (his spear that never fails to kill what it pierces). It also symbolizes his ability to "bind" a person's mind with Divine Battle-Madness. Pretty morbid choice over good ol' Mjolnir. ;)
@tamius23 ...Oh right. And yeah, it's a bit weird that a non-Nordic character has it. It's an automatically generated courtier, so they're made with probabilities, not pre-written history files. Remember that it's still in beta, so that hopefully shouldn't be an issue at the game's launch if they filter it right. :)
@SeiferOptics What, you mean Europa Universalis 3 wasn't awesome? :O You do know, though, that as I've said in the video, this game is more RPG-like, as the main focus is the dynasty the player controls, but in EU3 it's the country itself.
@ThePrussianPrince I'm not saying it wasn't awesome , but after playing 2 - 3 factions you feel handicapped into playing a european power or will will get raped
@SeiferOptics Nah, not really, but they do have an advantage, yes. Golden Horde, Japan, Ming and some Indian nations have great potential/power, even though they're backwards in technology. But yeah, I see where you're coming from, but Europe's the focus of that game, isn't it? The real, crippled ones are the natives of America in EU3. Whatever you do with them, in the end, you'll get destroyed by a European colonial power.
@ViriathusVingathor Ah yes, Sengoku. I'll buy that sooner or later as well as CK2.

This music doesn't feel quite right for a medieval game.

Nice Preview, but I have question.
Is the people in Ethiopia(Axum) or Nubia any darker than the muslims in the Middle East?
Inkvisitorn 3 months ago
They changed it? I'm sure in Johan's preview video they had Mjolnir. It's very odd that an Arab count is a Norse pagan, then.

What's the religion for which the icon has three... prongs? At the top of that list of characters?
