I agree that he's fantastic, but two Am Idol contestants are at least as good, and are arguably more vocally creative: Adam Lambert and David Cook. Lambert is more theatrical due to acting, and Cook has more artistic range, adept at rock as well as pop ballads. I haven't heard Joe try rock.

I agree on that too. I think it's lazy for him to give them other people's songs. They sing covers throughout the show and try to 'make it their own'. They could at least work with the X factor finalists and some of the guest performers to make a winners song so the arrangement, production would be original. The same with the charity single but I guess he has to think about it from a business point of view. I don't mind covered songs so long as it's done well like some of the BBC live lounges
