  • just what were they doing ferrying intop a goddamned typhoon?

  • @Kupz29

Gook is a mean word for an Asian person or a sticky substance

  • is there any video from inside when it capsies?

  • I was born in pinas kill more filipinos

  • wow dude, that's not a very nice thing to say. i'm sure your one of those fortunate ones that leave our homeland to have a better life and this is how you thank the homeland where you were born. you should be ashamed of yourself for mentioning you were born there. is this what your parents taught you growing up. i'm sad about what's going on with our youths and their attitudes, especially yours. learn to respect others, so you may get the same in return.

  • @KUPZ29 Shut Up you GOOK!!

  • i guess you're a 10yr old so there's no point in putting sense to you. you should be proudl of your parents for what they have done to you. you are brought up to be a complete failure to them.....

  • I told you too shut up you pangit gook!!

  • whatever, you don't even know what gook means so just go on with hating us and i hope one day you'll come to your senses.....

  • your a gook just look in the mirror and you'll find out that your a gook bitch!!

  • @tubedude101 please close your mouth.

  • really frightening to all the filipinos like this is another one trajic accident besides the MV dona paz which more than 4,000 died on december 23 which is almost christmas

  • i'm reading all ur comments -iba nakakatawa. my brother and his family died in that boat. napakahirap intindihin minsan. we're coming up 2d anniversary here. buti nalang meron akong Dios na sinasamba at pinagkakatiwalaan. He was there when it all happened, and i know hindi nya pinabayaan ang mga nalunod, and i know that it hurt HIM most to see my loved ones die - more than i will ever hurt.

  • gamblittz,

There is no excuse for your arrogance and insensitivity to the families left behind by those who perished in this accident. Pilipino ka pa naman bro or sis. I will say this in english kasi nahihirapan akong mag tagalog...bisaya kasi ako.

No death should be blamed for those who perished unless they committed suicide. In this case, they put all their trust in the company (sulpicio) and it's ship captain. There was a typhoon brewing close to their path..why did the captain SAIL???

  • 0_0

  • that's true! most of the ferry accidents in the were from sulpicio lines, including the worst ferry accident in the world, the m/v doña paz..

  • i really hate sulpicio lines! their services SUCKS! They're more concerned about money and doesnt care about the people's welfare! It's hightime for the government to check these vessels! Please!should have done these long time ago!!!

  • grabe sa news narating dito sa sweden :( takot tuloy ang mga torisa

  • hayy grabe talaga bakit sila bumyahe

  • DAREDEVILDOER66! YES! SHAME ON YOU! At least lot of people are praying for all the souls right now. Your name speaks for yourself YOU DEVIL! Your english even sucks!Uneducated idiot! The Devil is happy but God is powerful He will put everyone in His Hands. But on this stupid GUY you dont have to wait for your destiny cos your soul body nd soul lready been burnt in hell. Look at you right now? shameless! useless freak.I pity your mom to hve you in this world.

  • Gamblittz! Im praying for all the passengers and family na kasama sa bgyong frank.

  • GAmblittz!!!! siraulo ka! kaya nga bumyahe kaci akala walang bagyo ang init sa maynila before they leave. wag kang mayabang mag post ng comments na hindi mo alam ang tunay na nangyayari.Gago ka! Im praying for all the souls on the ship God will keep them esp. those innocent people hindi katulad ng gagong ito! buhay ka pa kinain na kaluluwa mo gago ka! Multuhin ka sana antayin mo baka di lang lunod abutin mo siraulo!

  • Who's to blame? Once again, "SAFETY WAS NEGLECTED", and it would take more than an investigation to correct all the guidelines, and the most important of all, "IMPLEMENTATION", 'coz sometimes we filipinos tends to be "SITTING DUCKS" and would sometimes disregard warnings. I'm proud of my roots but, i can't stand with those people who will just washed their hands or dirty linen just to save their neck or post. 'MONEY IS FOR THE RICH, FAMOUS & POWERFUL, WHILE HUNGER IS FOR THE POOR & INNOCENT'

  • i was shock when i am heard the news that the biggest luxery vessel in the phil was sunk during the typhoon frank,, in this tragedy not only the management of sulpicio lines are responsible for tragedy also the brance of the gov involve the pag asa, phil coast gaurd, dotc, and the most is the master of the vessel because he is only one can abort the fly of the vessel becuase he is the over all in command... i am extending my condolence to all the family of the victim,,

  • henzo7:

    here's for you

    ..|.. o.O ..|..

  • Comments ko lang:

Kasalanan nang mga tao 'yan kc alam nila na may bagyo, bumyahe parin..

Walang barkong bumyahe kung walang pasahero gustong bumyahe!

    hmp bobo! ayan dedz tuloy

  • basta manalangin lang tayo........

  • I don't care what color or religion or financial status famous or average Joe or where you live..death is death. It stops for no one. And details that bring to justice of who's responsible is good. Needs to happen. But even then, either way lives were lost and THAT is what matters.

I see everyone as humans. Not colors or where there from.Every time I hear of something awful no matter where I ache for them.God Bless.

Prayers and sympathy from me in the USA.

  • Wishing1983, are you an American?

  • Yes I am :-)

  • this serves as a lesson to all "dont miss mother nature". i think we have the capabilities to predict weather conditions if it is safe to go on or not. we can use the internet to monitor this kind of matter. i hope we filipinos will able to learn the lesson of this tragedy, we learn from our mistakes please dont do it again. may R.P. to those who died....

  • the sad thing about the video is that it shows some of the people that are still in the ship, and a couple of hours later they are gone..so sad =(, oyah henzo7's a fag..

  • to henzo7---> I can't believe u had the heart to say that! a good person never feels happy for other's misfortunes.U sound so uneducated, unmannered beast! Don't judge people by what they eat.. yes u may have the money to eat in a fancy restaurant but how clean is ur heart? I feel so sorry about the victims of the ill-flated princess of the stars. I pray for their soul to be at peace and to the family I am in prayers with you. and once again to henzo7--> GO to hell!

  • henzo7...i'm guessing a hot filippino broke your heart and that's why your such a nasty fuck! Your a fucking disgrace.

  • actually Henzo7 is mentally retarded so no need to react

  • hey henzo if your family will die ALL at once, you wouldnt be happy would you? unless you'd get paid . . for what? couple of cents??

  • tsk tsk... henzo7 i hope these would not happen to u or your family, i agree wit u jheanforu, i think henzo7 is like another ignorant n idiot foriegner lol!!!

  • I would not accept a settlement. I would also sue the coast guard because they are to blame. the government should provide money compensation as well.

  • i do apologize sa lahat. masyado na kasing nakaka-inis ang mga insulto ng ibang tao sa atin. hindi naman nila tayo kilala they may hear some story about the philipinos pero wag namang ganyan, lalo na sa event involving human losses. deepest sympathy sa mga family. my heart goes to all of you. not only for the families of princess of the stars, also to all of the probinsiya na napimsala. ONCE AGAIN I AM SO SORRY FOR MY OUTRAGING BURST. SALAMAT ,THANK

just shut ur mouth and go to death...

    dickhead...

  • Having used the ferries in the Philippines many times. I cannot understand why so many died. There are plenty of life vests and you are always in eyeshot of land. I have been in a storm as well and I seen many people wearing there vests in the lobby, and it wasnt even a typhoon. So I dont think it caught these peopole be surprise.

For the sake of GOD and for the sake of your countrymen and most of all for the sake of your country "PHILIPPINES"

  • condolence to all victim's families!

ALLAH TA'ALA BLESS THEIR SOULS! what we need to do is just cooperates to resolve this kind of tragedy!

    salam & peace to all...

  • its nice to hear from a muslim like you, tnx bro god bless..... your a true muslim

  • they are only giving P200,000(US$4500) to the family who lost they loved ones.. wtf so little?? pity them.. haiiz

  • cheekytintin2: I know 200,000 is not enough but it's better they get something than nothing. Like the tragedy in ultra. I think most of the victim thier they received nothing. I hope tupadin ng GO family ang salita la na magbigay ng ganyang halaga sa mga familya ng victima

  • my heart goes to my kababayan especially to the relatives of the crew and passengers of princess of the stars.

  • sulpicio lines owner stop finger pointing you

should own the responsibility to the tragedy.

you are not doing enough to help the relatives

of the dead.i was really outrage when i saw the little girl asking the whereabout of her

    father.

  • this is so sad why did this have to happen?i feel so sad for the people in the ship

  • I think its time to suspend the Sulpicio license to operate shipping vessels

that is too many lives lost.

  • so sad,,, no words could take away the pain of those passengers relatives, sometimes we dont understand the ways of our saving Lord yet... no matter what still His ways are far more greater than ours...

keep on hoping, and let the sunken star smile again!!!

    RISE PHILIPPINES!!!

    from Thailand

  • There was a report of a dolphin seen trying to rescue a fisherman from drowning after his boat sank in Typhoon Frank. A survivor saw a dolphin, which was about the size of an adult human, drag and push the man toward Burias Island. Unfortunately, neither the fisherman nor the dolphin survived. After the storm, local residents found the dead bodies of the man and the dolphin, which were buried on the island.

  • You'd think after something like this would happen, both would survive. That is so sad ;_; That's so unfortunate and yet it's a beautiful story. Good thing both the man and the dolphin were buried. I hope they find more victims, I can't imagine all the pain this typhoon has caused.

  • I think what may be the hardest is not knowing if their loved ones are still trapped inside the ship or washed out to sea!!!

  • I'm happy your heard from them. Must be awful for those waiting for word from relatives and friends.

  • yeah. that is the hardest.

  • another setback...revealed pesticides cargo hampers relief effort..omg...what's going on?

  • They have suspended retrieval of bodies due to fears divers may be exposed to toxic chemicals in the cargo hold. About 22,000 pounds of the pesticide endosulfan intended for pineapple plantations of Del Monte Philippines went down with the ferry.

  • thats a lot of people. best to do is give those involved your thoughts in prayer.

  • I call for the philippine government with there power to make sure that this tragedy will not happen again. I like to see a government enquiry to look at our standard and procedures.

  • Sulpicio Lines have blamed "an act of God" for the sinking of their ferry MV Princess of the Stars at the height of Typhoon Frank off Sibuyan Island in Romblon province last Saturday.

  • so sinasabi nila na kasalanan ng diyos..omg... for me, global warming. kahit andito lang ako sa cagayan de oro... nadarama ko ang mga hinagpis at ang pinagdadaanan ng mga nawalan ng mga mahal sa buhay... im praying for them... omg... T.T

  • that MV princes of the stars disaster was very aweful for our country..so it isnt good.. ='(

  • tang ina yan delubyo ahh

  • Bakit mo naman sinabi na it's good for Philippines. May disaster na nga kami mabuti pa sayo. What about if it happened to where you are now at your one of a victim you like it????

  • ngengtot..u being a muslim malaysian..u think u hv sumthing 2 b proud of?

  • so, ur from Malaysia? what the hell ur talking about that its good for Philippines? Malaysia will not be a Malaysia now without the Filipinos! do yah know that? u hired Filipino nurses, engineers etc.. and we cared for ur childrens. do u know that? u whore people?!

  • ngengtot..good for Phils or good for your group. Ur a muslim malaysian terrorist & ur happy you won't waste ur bomb & a member who aims for 7 virgins in heaven..

  • what are you talking about ngengtot?????!!!!! filipinos are also asians and so malaysians so instead you are talking like that for the country of the Philippines plsss pray for the victims, it is so embarrassed that even your spelling "Philippines" you can't spell it correctly "philiphines" is not our country or maybe it is out of the world gets?! it spells "PHILIPPINES" so we filipinos we shouldn't affected if he/she said that it is good for philiphines because our country spells not that way.

  • to the goverment to the philippines-pls do something about this tragedy. dont just wait for the next tragedy to happen. pls. be strict in giving such permit to those who travel especially when there is typhoon even if it is only signal number 1.

  • condolences to those family who lost thier loveones especially in this tragedy. Pls. bear in mind that accident always happen unexpected so be extra careful with your self, ready and pray always to GOD to avoid this tragic tragedy.

  • No matter how safe and advance ang technology implemented onboard there are times things are beyond control. Kahit yong pinaka high-tech na bansa merun din sea tragedy. Ang pinagkaiba lang nila sa atin na miminimize ang casuality dahil and Coast Guard nila are trained and dedicated to save life even in the most severe weather conditions. Eh ang Philippine Coast Guard natin puro porma lang magaling lang kung panu magkakapera.

  • its a disaster!!!!!!!

  • there´s a problem w/ PAG-ASA.low tech tlaga tau s pinas.di gaya sa japan updated talaga sila malaman mo na for a whole week kung tag-ulan or tag-araw.nasaan na ba ang pera? daming mga tax nabayaran nasaaan ang pera? kahit kuha kalang copy ng mga documents, birth cert....etc... ang mahal!tapos walang pera!

  • yeah your right!the govt has something to do with it

  • because Sulpicio wants to make it appear that the Captain was on weed or some kind of drugs! to make it human error and not pay or get sued bigtime.

the Kumareng Juana version here in youtube has nothing to do with the tragedy.

  • why does Sulpicio Lines blame Kumareng Juana here in youtube for the disaster???

  • Super your a fucking idiot you racist bitch, Your just saying that cause your mom is a slut and you hate it you need to fucking stop that shit....No one deserves death like that asshole

  • its diffirent story about the superferry 14 it was, it was a man maid! or it was planed to be happen by someone! now where talking about typhoon, how they escape it. good job to superferry... its obvious its the sulpicio lines who has accident always.

  • Now the blame game begins. A lawyer for Sulpico cited rules issued in 1998 saying that the coast guard had the responsibility of plotting storm routes and issuing these to shipping companies for guidance. New guidelines were issued in 2007, repealing the 1998 guidelines cited by Sulpicio officials. In the new guidelines the ship captain is given the responsibility to decide whether to leave port or not.

Can you believe, Sulpicio officials said they had not received the 2007 guidelines!

  • I can believe anything about the PI govt. Those clowns make American govt look good, which is quite a feat. I do not give a damn who had "official responsibility." I know that any responsible captain would not take one of these poorly maintained boats with 800+ people relying upon his judgment into waters due for a typhoon. I also know that any responsible Coast Guard Commander would never allow one of these boats with 800+ of his fellow countrymen aboard anywhere near such waters.

  • OUR COUNTRY IS SO LAME

  • We're in time of mourning..pls huwag sagutin ang posters in this video kung hindi maganda ang comment nila. Lalo lang nagkakaproblema. Doubleclick their screen name & make comments on their channel/profile.."add comments" located in bottom right or left.. If posters see ur comments masisiraan ng ulo iyan..and that's what we want..

  • Why does this keep happening in the Philippines? Is life so cheap?

  • no some people in the philippines are idiots.

  • u know i'm jobless right now..real estate is down..i get clients once in a while.. but it's really boring so i spend my time screening YT who diss Pinoyz.. Pinoyfighters, fuckfilips, etc. are vietcongs based in Canada who are jealous of Pinoyz.. Don't think they're Canadians or racist caucasians.. D poster fr UK in my opinion was dumped by Pinay.. so they really hv big problem..lol

  • Thank God, were not one of those who were aboard the ship when we sailed from Cebu to Manila. Yikes, that'd be awful.

  • Sulpicio is making ship sinking a big business, all their vessels are double - tripled insured.

  • Trans: dis ship cant be sink by just any storm just the engine is stil runing to manuever itself That the ship sunk because of the engine accidentally broken hten a large wave bigger then the ship and go in in low water area. .ur just nothing but a defenseles floating metal f ur engine is dead, dats it!its not at ol work by mother nature but human error and neglidience itself!dis is not d first time dat 1 of ur ships engine is stalled, work on it!precious and innocent lives ara at stakes here

  • No responsible captain would ever take 800+ passengers into waters expecting a typhoon. While you are correct the engine failure was the primary reason for the crash, I am sure you are aware that engine failures on these ferries is not exactly a rare occurance.

Even so, a properly operating vessel would be subject to sinking from a tremendous rogue wave, which can occur in a typhoon. The commander of the Manila Coast Guard must have gotten a nice gratuity to allow that departure.

  • don't get mad at jdle07...he's right. Check his profile..he/she's 13 & lives in Phils. English is bad..but a computer whiz..chk his channel (double click his screen name).. Careful lang.. Pinoy kidz r really computer genius..

  • p.s. be careful to watch jdle07's videos about "how to hack computer or about virus b6 or sumthing"..Nagfreeze ang 'puter ko..

  • dis ship cant be sink by just any bagyo f just the engine is stil runing to manuever itself.kya lumubog ang barko dahil namatay ang makina, hinampas ng mlalaking alon hanggang mapunta sa mas mababaw na dagat at sumadsad at tumagilid.ur just nothing but a defenseles floating metal f ur engine is dead, dats it!its not at ol work by mother nature but human error and neglidience itself!dis is not d first time dat 1 of ur ships engine is stalled, work on it!precious and innocent lives ara at stakes here

  • yo, you're just making it confusing.

you couldve said it in tagalog 0_o.

you're like kris a. or something..

  • so lot LOL

  • i dont know y they continue sailing on the sea, even the big superferry stop in mindoro to wait till the typhoon stops! superferry is very wise, even my aunt was there on the board at that time, tnx there safe coz they ride super ferry 19

  • Superferry 14 was bombed in 1994 because the company that owned it, WG&A, did not comply with a letter demanding USD $1million in protection money.

  • their inside the ship crying for help

they want to live and see their families

    how sad they died Softly

  • Trapped inside the ship, so awful. Hundreds of people trapped when the ship suddenly tilted and went belly up Saturday.

  • wtf are you talking about?

    obviously, they died screaming!!

  • Yeah im filipino but he that company is lol and that company will get banned

  • Looks like the blame will be placed on the coast guard and the captain. Even with their bad track record, the ferry MV Dona Paz sank after colliding with a fuel tanker days before Christmas in 1987, killing more than 4,300 people. The Dona Paz was owned by Sulpicio Lines, the same shipping company that operated the Princess of the Stars.

  • Hey u better translate what you wrote here i dont really get it or If i were u just write it in tagalog though ur english grammar is BAD hahaha

  • Boils down to two main sectors to BLAME and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY: The Sulpicio Lines Company and the Philippine Coast Guard... PATHETIC.. makes me sick how these 2 sectors did not do their jobs at all. For the Shipping company: all for MONEY.. for the Coast Guard, they jkust sit back and just blah blah blah on TV, too late to rescue... they did not even WARM the ship during the sail... nor they DID NOT RESPOND to the SOS from the Captain of the ship...

    am so UPSET..

  • that ferry captain is lol he brake the rules

  • its not the captain to blame...

    its the company....

the head of the company is an IDIOT

  • Maritime authorities have also been accused of laxity in implementing safety rules and regulations with some allegedly receiving bribes from shipping companies.

  • that could be possible or they did'nt just care whatever happen to them while sailing through the open ocean they know typhoon headed on their way. we just hope that through this tradegy they should learn and make a certain action that this can be prevented on the future.

  • bat naman tinuloy nila ang paglalayag,

ung superferry nga tsaka ung ibang barko nag

    postponed.....

  • for me dapat maging concern ang company sa mga passenger...OH my God...

  • i'm sorry to say this, but chinese businessmen are more concerned about getting more money than the welfare of others...

just remember the toxic chocolates, the poisonous toys - substandard quality!!!!

  • oops - sorry for ranting... maybe it's also of the horrid weather. but that company (Sulpicio Lines) had been also involved in the ship-related accident way back in 1987(the MV Dona Paz which killed 4,000 people - overcrowded), MV Marlyn (1988-300 dead), MV princess of the orient(1998-luckily no one died), and now this.

tell me that doesn't mean something.

  • Why was Princess of the Stars allowed to sail when Typhoon Signal No.1 was operative. The Philippine Coast Guard said it had advised shipping lines against sailing. The owners said conditions at the time the ship left port (9 pm, Friday) were considered safe. The bottom line is that the owners knew there was a strong typhoon threatening the southern Philippines; they knew that sailing on very rough seas and powerful winds with hundreds of passengers and tons of cargo was dangerous.

  • omg....may we pray

  • it's sad but things happen with a purpose.. God wants everyone attention.. letting us know that He is coming.. we need to be ready for it.. God bless! Prayers to the love ones..

  • oh my god!

i wish more passengers will be rescued...

    we ll pray for u!

  • so if that is the case, bat hindi nalang ipasara ang kumpanyang ito. gayong marami na itong pinatay noon paman,

  • Richard Gordon, the Red Cross country chief as well as a lawyer, said that Sulpicio Lines was not legally at fault since the coast guard had allowed the Princess of the Stars to set sail."It becomes a judgement call by the captain," Gordon said.

  • The vessel described is the largest car-ferry operating in Japan. There is accommodation for 554 passengers, and 152 trucks and 136 cars can be carried on two vehicle decks connected by a ramp. Loading is over bow and stern ramps.

  • =( ur mom is in my prayers!

    i hope she is ok!

    like milandante said

    keep the faith!

  • The lives of the passengers and their dearest ones are in my thoughts and prayers...

Izzy, Keep the faith, Love you...

    :(

  • omg i heard this on the news my prayers out for all the famillys involved

  • oh my goodness. i hope everything turns out safe :(.

  • It didn't only 3 people is found alive.

  • The video thanks

  • i cant belive it here in philipines i cant here the babies crying

  • how can these people responsible for this tragedy able to sleep?they took the risk for the lives of these poor passengers including babies,by sailing despite of the bad whether than losing their millions of pesos by cancelling the trip!!!they choose money over the lives of poor people!!!How could Y O U !!!!!!!! God will take care of you....

  • Sulpicio ships and ferries have figured in many of the worst maritime disasters in the Philippines. In December 1987, an overloaded Doña Paz collided with an oil tanker off Mindoro Island, killing 4,386 people.

In October 1988, another Sulpicio Lines ship, Doña Marilyn, sank near Leyte Province, killing 300 passengers and crew. In 1998, 200 died when the Princess of the Orient, also a Sulpicio liner, capsized near Manila during a storm.

  • u know why? coz Sulpicio Lines are owned by Chinese.. all they think is money. money. money. They shud be sent back to China.

  • The Chinese own that company?

  • yes.

  • May we all learn from this!

  • The Coast Guard is responsible on this accident, no doubt.i think the coast guard received a big amount of money to go the ship even there is a typhoon."fuck you coast guard"

i would like to extend my condolence to all families who affected the tragedies.

    God Bless Us Always..........

  • RIP to the souls of all the passengers that were died in this tragic voyage accident.., masama po magalit ang kalikasan pero kaya itong maiwasan kung sana hindi na pinayagang bumyahe at inisip ng shipping company at ng PCG lahat ng anticipated consequences regarding sa lagay ng masamang panahon.., hindi po kailangan kumita ung shipping company nio ng malaking pera kung maraming buhay naman ang mawawala..,

  • the ship companies should start thinknig about peoples lives by now!!! they are such money eager motherfuckers! passengers are innocent, there is no excuse to those responsible for this, you deserve to be buried alive! fuck you all!!!!

  • I guess the weekend ferry is busy, can't lose money by stopping it from going out into a thypoon! The company made this statement: "Our company also assures the families of all unfortunate passengers who perished in this incident that they will be properly compensated."

know what, this incident is full of shit, they knew typhoon was coming but why in hell did they let the ship go? money can't repay lives, these people who are responsible DONT deserve to live, how do they sleep at night? they such a waste scumbags who treats ordinary passengers like a worthless animal. i hate them ship companies/coast guards wish you're dead too!

  • Well said, i think you know what happened. A big ship sinks during a storm or in pacific weather, hundreds of passengers and crew lose their lives, an investigation starts, the hearing takes an inordinate time, the decision pends, no official report is made and amnesia develops over the case. The shipping line casts off again for more profitable business.

  • the ship companies cares about money not the life of the people .

  • So tragic... you can't take chances with Mother Nature, she's just too powerful.

I have a YouTube friend in the Philippines and she was in Cebu last month, possibly on that ship. Left her a message when I read about the typhoon, but she hasn't replied. But I see tonight that she logged in shortly after I left the message. She is the type of person who helps others so she is probably busy helping people in Manila.

  • They say the storm changed direction Saturday, moving toward the center of the country, running right into the ferry's path.

  • My YouTube friend contacted me and she and her family came through the storm okay. She says that she did take that ship for her return trip back to Manila. On a previous trip she was on a ship that also later sank.

  • RIP nalang sa pinakamagandang barko na nasakyan ko at mga taong sakay nito... i can say they have nice facilities, entertaining to the passengers, sana meron pa ulit na ganito ka gandang barko na maging comfortable ang passengers.. & pls dont take a risk to sail, if there's a super typhoon..

  • how can the coast guard be so dumb in allowing the ship so sail when they knew all along that there is a typhoon heating towards us.. may the hands of GOd carry this people onboard the ship so they may be saved..

  • Coast guard officials told reporters Monday that they had cleared the ferry to leave Manila for Cebu, a city in the central Philippines, on Friday night because the initial forecast for Fengshen showed that the storm would only hit the eastern part of the country, away from the ferry's route. But according to the government weather bureau, the typhoon changed direction Saturday, moving toward the center of the country, running right into the ferry's path.

  • that accident could have been prevented. the captain and cruiseline are incompetent and responsible for needless deaths.

  • It does seem that way. An advocacy group for crime victims, Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption, announced Monday that it was filing a class action suit against the company.

  • I always dreamed of one day getting on board the largest luxury liner in the philippines. A great loss. I pray for the poor souls who may have sunk with her. I hope this tragedy at sea will never ever happen again-- as we consider our country an archipelago of which sea travel is the most common mean of getting across places.

  • RIP princess of the stars passengers.

  • my heart bleeds hearing the news.... It's another wake up call.... so many similar accidents like this before. . . until when should authorities be waking up?... Only God knows when... My hopes and prayers to the victims and the families.

  • I don't understand why the Coast Guard would not be blamed on this accident. They allowed the vessel to go on her voyage when there is a typhoon that could easily change its path.

God Bless those poor souls. My prayers for the families.

  • There is some sort of understanding between the Ph. coast guard and shipping companies here in the Philippines.

*Stating that the sake of the ships voyage on a storm signal #1 should be decided by the Shipping company, either to allow the ship to continue it's voyage or hold.

in this case when the ship left port in manila the storm signal is at #1....

    *PRETTY DUMB UNDERSTANDING ISN'T IT?*
