For me this is a provoking reminder of how dangerous someone else's bad judgement / lack of experience or just not enough concentration for whatever reason, can be on the road, even though I'm sure there was no malice or intent, a reminder of how sometimes you are exposed to huge risk through no fault of your own. This middle aged man was around 30 miles per hour down the road, not knowingly I asked my father if I could go back in the yard considering I had my damn icecream. HE looked and he didn't see anything he said yes but look just for incase on each side of the road. From memory I did and I didn't see anything I started walking and out of nowhere the guy turned down the lane and struck me. I flew 11 feet in the air landed on the road rolled in a ditch. Broke my shoulder Leg Clavicle bone.
My nose upper eye lids and forhead was all cut open, You could lift my upper face up and see my brain. As horrible as it was I had 100 stiches inside and outside my head, atm of 17 years of age I look like a normal person and I'm living life to the fullest with a great family and girlfriend. Another accident was when I was 11 my father and a few cousins and I were getting ice cream from this ice cream truck across the road from my grandmother house again.. lmao.

@wigwam622 Well, if the engine had been up front I'd either have fully lost my legs or my life. As it happens thanks to the engine being in the back the huge crumple zone saved my legs and life so I would say the protection worked

Turns out he was 15, driving a stolen car at midnight (on a schoolnight), sped away to evade a marked Police car & crashed into a wall killing himself & injuring his 3 passengers. Last year there was a Memorial at our local park for what the Police called “a young boy killed in a car accident”. 100+ people gathered, ‘tributes’ were read & Chinese lanterns set off.
Turns out he was 15, driving a stolen car at midnight (on a schoolnight), sped away to evade a marked Police car & crashed into a wall killing himself & injuring his 3 passengers. Am I being too harsh in thinking his family should have just had a quiet funeral instead of a hero’s ceremony on public space?
