I didn't say people were ignorant on the issues. But charisma sure as hell plays a role in an election. People respond more to how a man presents himself as much as what he's trying to do. Documented fact. That said, I and many folks that voted did so because of his policies. Its about which policies best serve us at the present time.

1st of all, if born on a military base to US parents, one is a US citizen, but a court would have to determine if that means "a natural born citizen".
You assert McCain was born on the base, so "US soil". I'm not going to agree that's "US soil" but even that's wrong.
There was no hospital on the base at the time of McCain's birth & thus he was born in a private hospital off the base, further complicating the situation.

I have increasingly been denied access without cause to sites I know exist and are not illegal. 1. Destroy government offices that keep birth records.
2. Destroy schools which may or may not contain full records or disclosure of students right from the pre-school or kindergarden level.

I didn't say people were ignorant on the issues. But charisma sure as hell plays a role in an election. People respond more to how a man presents himself as much as what he's trying to do. Documented fact. That said, I and many folks that voted did so because of his policies. Its not a simple matter of being informed versus uninformed (granted, both sides assuredly had their share of the uninformed, but that's neither here nor there). Its about which policies best serve us at the present time.

Even if Obama's parents did misrepresent that he was a citizen of Indonesia, lying about being a citizen of another country does not forfeit your U.S. citizenship. This is the kind of conspiratorial thinking that is used (as seen in comments below) to demonize all inquiry into truly foul lies like 9/11.

1) The government helps obongo forge a birth certificate that will pass all inspection.

In calling for a Dismissal of the Lawsuit challenging McCain's right to be President, McCain makes a rather unique defense.
McCain argues that in order to protect the Separation of Powers, the matter of who is "a natural born citizen" shouldn't be decided by the courts but by a vote of the people & vote of the electoral college.
I don't agree w/ this position but can certainly understand him not wanting the Sup Court taking the office from him should he win the election.

McCain was born in the US Panama Canal Zone, a 10 mile wide swath of land through Panama, that Panama ceded to the US in 1903.
This was a US Territory at the time that McCain was born there.
So this is a non-issue.

There's an additional problem with your assertion.
1st of all, if born on a military base to US parents, one is a US citizen, but a court would have to determine if that means "a natural born citizen".
You assert McCain was born on the base, so "US soil". I'm not going to agree that's "US soil" but even that's wrong.
There was no hospital on the base at the time of McCain's birth & thus he was born in a private hospital off the base, further complicating the situation.

I agree red, there is something fishy going on with obama. in SOME way he's not telling the truth and hiding something. He put a birth certificate on his site then he yanked it down. Now there is some guy saying that he did doctor it up. We NEED to see his birth certificate, it's the only fair thing for the voter. If a person doesn't qualify then they don't qualifty there are reason they put those into our laws.

Yes, McCain was born to US citizens who were living on a US Military facility, which means he is "a US citizen" - this has been decided by the courts.
What hasn't been decided by the courts is whether or not that makes McCain "a natural born citizen".
Please don't confuse the 2 terms -- we have many people who're "citizens" but the courts may decide they aren't "natural born".
This is unsettled in the courts as to McCain.

One thing that I don't understand about this whole "natural born" thing is Obama's mama. She's an American. Born and raised. No question about that. So then doesn't the fact that Obama's moma is a "natural born" citizen automatically mean that he is one, too? At least it would cancel any doubts to his being an American citizen.

DillonX, I read about the questioning of McCain's eligibility in The New York Times. YET, I have NEVER heard about this in The NY Times, TIME, Newsweek, etc, etc.... what's going on here? Why the double standard? Obama just needs to provide the birth certificate or RESIGN.

Some law professor think McCain is eligible to be President, some do not.
The GOP asked Congress to pass a Resolution saying they thought McCain was eligible (They never would've sought a resolution if McCain was clearly "a natural born citizen".) A Resolution is not law.
Different ppl have different opinions, but IF elected a suit can be brought & the US SUPREME COURT can then determine if McCain is truly eligible.

That is why it MUST be sorted out NOW, before November 4. It will create a Constitutional Crisis after an Election, If Obama wins.
The DNC will Argue that he already has Won so the point is MOOT. But that is not true, The Constitution is VERY Clear on who is Eligible to be our President. You CANNOT have divided Loyalties or the perception of divided Loyalties.
The Law is the Law and Constitutional Law over-rules all.
