I like the combo of magnesium and ferro rods, tho there are plenty of better strikers available then the hack saw blade. I have both the super striker, and even better the Corona Sharpening tool.
I got mine @ a Gun show in Greenville SC from them folk who make it. I've started a good many fires with it, and you really can't tell that's its really been used. It stays in my EDC "Colossus" bag. Awesome product! Get one
i bought one today @ a gun show and i love this thing i thought shoot maybe if the compass is POS i still got a firestarter but the compass and thermometer is preety dang good its a great buy
If you dont have tinder or kindling, you can also scrap off the handle itself, its made of wood. saw it done last night at a demonstration. I bought one.. the lifetime replacement is only good on the 25.00 model.
They are not sold separately, but all they are is a piece of a hacksaw blade. If you want a separate striker, I do sell a nicer and more robust one in the firesteel rod section of my site.
