  • Bravo! Job well done preserving this for future generations.

  • Delighted to see this and well done on preserving it for future generations. Hope to be able to see for real someday!

  • I don't remember reading about this hut in the Shackleton book, but I suppose that book was mainly about his disasterous trip where the ship was lost and they drifted for months on ice.

This is really cool to see.

  • Wow....Thanks so much. I read Shacklton's account, but never, ever thought I'd get to see the hut...not only the hut but the contents. I thank you, and ...I reallly envy you. wish i could be there amidst the pages of his wonderful account

  • Thank you all for your good work. My grandfather Jameson Adams had a bunk in the hut which he called No 1 Park Lane. My son visited the hut a year ago and he was greatly moved. He then trekked on with two others to the South Pole, passing the point where Shackleton and my grandfather had to turn round, to the day exactly a hundred years previously.

Visiting the hut before I am too old would be my lifetime's ambition, but I'm afraid it's just too expensive.

  • Great job! Odd to see a laptop amongst the items in the hut!
