Here's another one for you, ever heard of Depleted uranium, I did'nt either until I left the forces, and have spent the last 4 years being tested for it, which the MOD did nothing to help and according to the results I have not got it, but I have a blood disorder which cannot be identified ? And as for help forget it, when I phoned the families officer about it, I was told straight, "Fuck off your a Civvi Now" how's that for after care ?

Top Man Sven, its good to hear people defending the boys, I had 10 years of it, be under no illusions, the job is shit, the pay is shit, the accommodation guess whatits shit, but the boys can put up with that, what really fucks you up is when your Home and have to put up with abuse and crap from fucking civvies whos only perspective on a life in the forces is the crap they get fed on TV and films.

Bring back National Service ! As to pay, would anyone do the job the boys do for £30 a day ? And remember, No over time pay, No bonuses, and you cannot have a second job either, you are constantly told, your paid 24 Hrs a day 7 days a week, minimum wage is supposed to be over £5 per hour, work it out guys, British service men get just over £1 per hour. That was my rate of pay when I was out on my first tour in Yugoslavia.

Im 18 and I marched in the rememberance day parade this year and last as a cadet.

Im doing a Public Services college course and after im joing the RAF as a firefighter.

I think ALL the Public Services like the Army sould get paid ALOT more. The most dangerous jobs in the world should be more recognised in the financial world. Unlike fuckin footballers!!! 200,000K a week!! Appauling!

been to afghanistan twice going back in 1 month :( we need better equipment the wolf (landrover defender) is not armoured.i drive this thing most days and the risk of geting blowing up is 32% shot at 56% .the situationis not good
