  • 'Photographers' is incorrectly spelt in the opening blurb

  • The background music is quite good.

  • Theres ghost tours there

  • Yea crazy broooo

  • been the morge is creepy

  • Worked in institutions including a 8 year stint at Aradale. Found nothing creepy about them. Only creeps I saw were full of piss and shit.

  • s477

Erh sorry what I meant to say were only creeps that I saw in 42 years in the service were certain members of management. Both dead and living.

  • freaks

  • I worked there for 6 years in the late seventies, it had a culture of its own. Not a place i'd care to take a vaction in. Didn't see any ghosties. Sorry folks it just aint haunted, try Caloola at Sunbury.

  • Isn't Caloola in Sunbury now being used by Victorian University as one of their campuses?

  • Yes it is, M6A to my knowledge still remains fenced off. They had a padded room in M6A and one of the passages leading to a dormitory is supposed to have had a cold chill even on a blistering hot day.

  • Ward M6A was originally built for wayward girls in the 19th century, steeped in history and it is said a few suicides did occur there.

  • It is said? Every location I have been to has an "it is said" story. Not an ounce of factual evidence backing anything.

  • Ooooh a cold chill. That's not exactly proof of it being haunted.

  • Never said it was, but it spooky at 2 in the moning

  • I agree with that. The area is very spooky. I have been there many times and the older parts probably have the most appeal. I've spoken to the security guards and they have a lot of stories. We were going to film there for an episode but cancelled the show before we could. It would have been an excellent location for a shoot.

  • Both Aradale and Caloola would be world class locations for the right story. When I worked at those places it often occured to me that with imagination you could really make an impression. However they are only buildings and its the residents that gave them a character and culture. Haunted?, I doubt it but gee, sometimes you wonder.

  • Sorry if I come off rude, not my intention. I have been in the areas with the padded rooms in the Sunbury location. As interested as I am, I just don't see anyone providing any proof and that can be frustrating. The stories of the boy who was left outside as punishment and froze to death is interesting because there is factual evidence for this story.

I also like the cemetery and all the tales but again, I am yet to find any information that isn't speculative at best.

  • no its not in sunbury i live there but the old sunbury asylum is used as a VU campus

  • huh?

  • I've been to Aradale many, many times. I have spent the night and it really does creep you out when you first experience the location. I can walk around alone now because the novelty has worn off. I don't think the place is haunted though. It's unfortunate that the buildings are being left in ruin and locals seem to enjoy vandalising what's left.

  • If anyone who is in this video and stayed at Aradale, can you tell me if it was haunted??

  • i stayed all night last night and yeah it is hounted

  • Well done, it was a fantastic little video! Love the spliced in still shots and the sound Kim makes after saying 'Hi, I'm Kim'. Hahaha. It's nice to have a little something to remember the day by :)

  • Thanks for sharing this very wicked vid with those of us bubblers who live far away and couldn't participate :) great production!

  • Wow! What a weekend that was!! Great little memorial vid there :)

  • Cripes, that's me at .50.

    :)
