I really like this hatred of Alinsky that the right seems to be stoking. Alinsky was not a Socialist, or even really a political radical. The only thing he did was organize poor people to, in small ways, improve their lot in life. This disdain for a man who did nothing but help the poor betrays their obsession with choking the middle and working classes for the profits of the rich. Really, it is quite a contradiction for a politician to claim adherence to Jesus' teachings but hate Alinsky.

In a nutshell, Alinsky wrote the book on how to enact change without violence, working within the system to organize a movement, elect delegates and candidates and work to get them elected. Wow. Really scary stuff. Nothing in his strategy about overthrowing Constitutions, just intranscient power. His book was a primer for King and the Civil Rights movement. Oh, but equality is socialism to you.
