  • This information is very right on and I found it quit engaging for someone who is looking to design toy lines.

  • This is common practice in any industry. I'm in graphic design and notice the sales people are ALWAYS the gateway to everything here. It's no different in toy design or whatever.

  • Nice !!!!!!!! about time good people help people!!

    Keep up the work!

have a question or to see if like to help?

  • Aw, Thanks for the tip Mike!

  • i believe it!

  • I love this advice, I am a product inventor and can use this approach with my new product ideas! Thanks!

  • I've used the "Salesman" tactic on a number of projects (prior to seeing this vid) and it does work. Salesmen answer their phones, if they don't, they they won't eat! You can also use this approach for customer service related inquiries. The salespeople usually speak English, unfortunately customer service reps usually could care less and are often difficult to communicate with. Ask the sales person who to talk with regarding your service inquiry and they can get you to the right person.

  • i like the jeepersmedia channel better

  • Can you get Kenner toy store company to do remakes on M.A.S.K toys please?!

  • @benito213 it doesn't work that way. M.A.S.K. isn't popular with kids today and doesn't have a show on TV right now. There isn't any economic reason a company would remake them.

  • That was epic info. Terrifically opportunistic. Of course, it's not what everyone wants to hear (most people want to do their own toy idea, not actually work with a toy company to get products out there right away) - but it's remarkable advice for someone who wants to get into the industry as a whole. Thank you Mike.

  • Thanks, that was just the info I needed =]

I wanna go into the toy design business.

But what I'm really interested is the art side of things.

Do you think you could make a vid about submitting designs for products, or do I just do what this vid said?

    Sorry, I'm no good with words, I hope I don't sound thick asking this ^_^;

  • Just a comment on the backround copy righted music on videos.

On your JeepersMedia channel you have music in the backround. How are you able to use that within the fair use doctrine? I'm pretty sure it's a song that copyrighted...just curious.

Thanks for your legal advice btw on making videos.

  • that music and the sound effects are filed under public domain, so they're safe to use. :)

  • It was just the lack of cheery music in the background like he always plays, and also he spoke slower this time.

  • hey, where do i start if i wanna be a toy maker??

  • design a toy DUH!

  • like wat course do i take in college? gosh..

  • Ha! nice...

If i could give ya FIFTY stars I would! But I guess we'll have to settle for 5.

  • That was awesome. I'm the local nerd, and your videos with educational value (like the toys that had a cultural impact that you review on your other channel) are my favorites. Keep making these videos; you're great for them. :)

  • Very much so. :)

  • Not the most entertaining video, but still good.

  • you have target in america? we have it in australia

  • ya u all got walmart

  • Comment removed

  • They're different stores. The only relation they have to one another is that the corporation that owns the American Target gave permission to use the name and logo to the one in Australia. Other than that, they're unassociated.

  • in uk we dont have target but we have an asda which is owend by wallmart.

  • Guess why he knows so much about toys :O

    he is santa :D

  • hes betraying Toys R Us lol

  • LOL.......GOOD ONE!!!!

  • I know you said not to tell you any ideas, but the one below I would like to give you, here is why I get lots of ideas all the time and if i can give a cool idea that could put a realy big smile on a kids face that would be so worth it!2nd reason is you have the connections to make the toys allready,3rd reason is I am not good at keeping things to myself or all for myself i am not looking to become rich 2 keep it all for myself, The final reason is as a child i was tought to share my toys!LOL

  • That was great and God Bless you with your Toy Channel adventure, I think toys are a supper thing to make for kids of all ages, cause they have fun and are able to really use their emaginations,I have some ideas for some really cool toys,I'd like to share, one is a hovering ball that is light weight, and never needs batteries, and could possibly allways hover in a room or outside without ever coming down!sounds unreal hu!, it also would aluminate cool light shows, I think kids would like one!

  • ILLUMINATE? cool light shows,

  • supper thing

    Super?? funny spelling.. Hahaha

  • that would be awesome.

  • Except how would it work?

  • awesome tip!

  • Hey Mike, Thanks for the great tip!

  • Hey, this is great information! It's so cool to hear an inside perspective.
