    Good one, George. :)

  • This is a great interview it's nice to see an interviewer so actively engaged in the process and not just pulling from a script. Props to this guy, and Cameron is inspiring as usual.

  • that has to be the hardest name in google history to look up

  • This is the only director ever who made me go watch a film 5 timess in theatres ..

  • Goerges does decent interviews, but dam this show can get boring

  • Strombo. Hittin the gym twice a week.

  • Who woulda thunk 2001 would have been the beginning of the next Dark Ages.

  • ive watched a couple of these "the hour" and i must say that george "long last name" is a truly great interviewer.. so laidback and it doesnt even feel like an interview its like a convo.. love it

  • I met George back in the early 2000's when he came to Vancouver. He stopped by a pita shop to buy a drink, very nice guy.

  • @eugene680 He was a real dickhead to Ron Paul. Ill never forget his smug arrogant ass telling Ron Paul he had no chance of winning the presidency. How unprofessional.

  • the adverts piss me off

  • Interesting... this interview was BEFORE his second wave of fame from Avatar

  • @gt198gtr that is so fucking cool...i finally saw avatar and its so cool that he was involved in my fav mpvoe ever...titanic..really talented guy...and he was a janitor

  • no matter what anyone says, james cameron continuosly pushes the bounderies of special effects in film ever since aliens, and has continuosly to make big money since T2. that's a fact, and he is one of the many best filmaker ever. what i like about him is that he takes risks, big risks: spent millions of $ on a unproven technology (T2, the abyss), and spent 200 million dollars on a chick flick that everyone knows the ending (titanic), and 235 million on a CGI film with blue people in it (avatar)

  • i have yet to see a james cameron movie i didnt like

  • @gibsondg335 What about Pirhana 2?

  • @TheLizzardOh i said i have yet to see one i didnt like. i didnt see p2

  • @gibsondg335

The only Cameron film I truly dislike is T2. Yes, I know most people love it. But I think it's a truly awful sequel to a great movie.

  • @KaitainCPS You sir are a bitch and a faggot piece of dried shit.

  • @redbuffalo15

    So?

  • @KaitainCPS Really? I thought it was awesome. Like most people, I suppose. I'm curious, could you elaborate a bit more on why you thought it was "truly awful"?

  • @override83

Note that I said "truly awful sequel" rather than "truly awful movie". I think it's a competently-assembled action movie, albeit one with no likeable characters other than the T-800. But it's an awful sequel because it is incompatible with the first movie and represents a giant retcon. The entire point of the first movie was that the universe was a deterministic time loop: you couldn't change the future because the future already existed. T2 is all about changing the future.

  • @override83

Cameron breaks his own rules so he can have a retread of the first film but with Arnie's role switched around. Also, the core premise of the first movie is that Skynet sends the terminator as its final, desperate act before death. As Reese says, "Nobody goes home; nobody else comes through". And Skynet didn't have the info to target John directly so had to target his mother. Yet here is Skynet, happily able to send a much more advanced terminator through, targeting John directly.

  • @override83

The whole thing is a giant retcon at multiple levels. It retcons the entire setup for the first movie, and it retcons the ontology of the narrative universe. It makes absolutely no sense as a sequel.

    Nice motorbike chase, though.

  • George is such a great interviewer, Entertainment Tonight you could learn something. Canada FTW!

  • Titanic huge sucess, Avatar huge sucess, Terminator huge sucess, Alien sucess... Don't judge him, he knows how to let a big mark.

  • The first two Terminator films, Aliens, and The Abyss were his best works. Titanic was more hype that a great movie. and Avatar was just a 3D CGI look what we can do film.

  • ever since he stopped directing the terminator series it went to shit, for any real terminator fan the series ended after 2, there was no need for any others

  • george strom or james cameron ....i dunno who is the most BRAINWASHED.......both complete DISGRACES to thier country ...we LAUGH at these FOOLS

  • How can you interview James Cameron and spend most of the interview talking about Titanic with hardly any mention of the Terminator films and no mention of True Lies??

  • he still an elistist

  • Best thing to ever come out of canada.

  • Why the fuck did they change the name of the show from The Hour to George Stroumboulopoulos tonight? That's so stupid. The title of the show was fine. It'll always be The Hour to me.

  • @dfbhcf Except it's 35 minutes now. Still, they should have called it something else, or have had the foresight to find a host with an easier to spell name.

  • I wish he'd do another Alien movie.

  • this movie made 3...Bi....bil.....billion dollars. And more to come since they will be re-releasing it in theaters soon.

  • @Zingerphile And there will be a sequal to 'Avatar'. :)

  • Actually, religion, the way you see it isn't dying out. People are constantly changing Christs teachings to fit the moment, in essence creating their own religion.

Its the "intellectuals", considering yourself as one I suppose, who can still be helped.

  • @Ellipser

    <3.

  • This guy is the best interviewer ever.

Usually they ask stupid questions, and totally act like they couldn't give two shits.

This guy asks the questions I am actually curious about...

  • WOOO!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES CAMERON!!!!

  • George is cute!

  • Yes from a young age he was obviously talented as well as apprently albino xD

  • Jamsey, did your master satan tell you what to do for the next movie?

    James needs an NDE.

  • @Ellipser lol, christian wacko's.

I thought religion was dying out... ooh wait it is.

Don't worry your son, or daughter will be more open minded then you, actually you should not have kids.

The way i see it, the less religion the more intellectuals.

Do you also hate Keeane Reeves?

    Brad pitt?

    Angelina jolie?

    Bruce willis?

yah you hate everyone that doesn't agree with you.

  • @Ellipser

Actually yes, i worship satan you see.

    BOO!

just kidding, there is no devil and there is no jebus. Run along now!

  • that would be funny to see the Terminator go back to save the titanic.

  • James Cameron made HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WITH BOTH TITANIC AND AVATAR. HE IS A MONEY MAKING MACHINE. So oscar for best director? fuck that, HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IS GAZILLIONS TIME BETTER THAN AN OSCAR.

  • @MrKg1971 That's not a good mentality to have since it gives us directors like Michael Bay. Rather than money or Ocars (or explosions) I think people like Cameron go for good ol' quality.

  • Avatar Sucked Dick!!!

  • @DuploRabbit

Well it made almost 3 billion dollars, more than any other movie in history, so you hating on it doesn't mean shit

  • How did Cameron not win an Oscar for best Director?! He put his heart and soul in Avatar for years, hard work... that's bullshit.

  • WHY AFI NOT GIVING HIM A AWARD.HAHHA THEY HATING ON CAMRON..

  • like my can be an entrepreneur health exclusion customers thing I only thought of as a burden, and I entirely translated the quality to "should I do, think" in my grandmother's and hence John A MacDonald mouth, er tounge.

So the health exclusion thing isn't positive for me but has been translated to the correct goal given my options.

I like to think the word SHOULD, like I believe John A MacDonald has.

  • Seriously something that pays me the most in the "makes it real" valid thing is I knew people where giving me something because I'm an advertiser and they don't want to think about customers. I was lucky enough be have enough class to say what if you shouldn't give me what I'm asking for, Should you give me what I'm asking for.

  • "sodomy" as opposed to "health exclusion" remembering the goal of "better bullshit for more money".

  • Someone should honestly do a movie called "well raised" some of you health exclusion types as indicated by relativity are seriously respectful as indicated by relativity as well. Basically you people use a georgous system, it's immpeccable, now the goal, the trade, the print -put aside. People should break that down to themselves.

  • I was too old to handle chatting though "new tension", I haven't chatted though new tension since 23, when I stopped bothering myself about sitting myself down in The Big Kahuna chair, or likewise bothering myself about the bloody red or blue pill.

  • do screw me I'm famous 2004, everyone will find out about the pitch/joke that's what I bank on for safety, also if I can't get you your "money and sex" ask (the only thing everyone asks for), I'm the best MAKE IT REAL it ain't atainable.

  • ya know people really just want privacy, so just take their joke, and go back to your pitches/effects or goal.

  • ha ha, man my job is just remember/forget my joke about a pitch. evil pitch.

  • how does one make people say the word SODOMY and then act charming, which is my job, charming and adorable, pays plenty, making people say the word SODOMY, only pays ANWAR, and the Texas police.

  • ya I made a bet, I don't out threaten all of the business, I didn't win that bet, opps, here's why I didn't win that bet, and my history can't be spooken. Everybody who meets my problem has to say the word SODOMY, how do you make a fucking movie about that. I'm just like I'm ABOVE BELT WITH THE LOCALS, damn it.

  • my birthday since 1992, boy was I gona sell lots of product, boy was I selling lots of products, I swear at the age of eight I weighed in on 2 in 1 shampoo, which didn't sell off the shelves till age 10, the history short version.

  • Georgie is that birthday thing "better bullshit for more money", do I have that with anyone, I can't remember.

    Bye love your girlfriend.

  • ah ya catchy tunes, I sing all Led Zepplin better, androg as well as Plant -with childish mannly -it's cool, but then catchy gets boring, so on to oprea tenor, productable.

  • Like I'm suppose to be "THE BEST MAKES IT REAL", of course memory should be something that person factors into their "emotional price/pay exchange", the only thing respectful to remember moves.

  • As someone who sits themself down, in the big kahuna chair, and askes themself "am I lying to myself", I wondering what income and title I need for my goal of beating the OIL. The decision became difficult back when I was under 23 and knew the solution was simply "German Transportation". As interesting as other big city transportation is to me, I question it is the best small city transportation, a demographic most people talking/dictating don't represent.

  • You always lie, I always lie, they always lie -what is the goal of all your statement. That's reality.

  • As I said to the doctor famously, when I said he was lying about me having symptoms of something dianoisable "Every statement everybody makes is a lie -the question they are describing with their statement, is "what is your goal". They always lie in the interest of a goal -that is what everybody does, their is no exception to this rule.

  • I just counted it's 13 different rentals, and I'm not counting the crazy hospital, with might have been fair, the relativity was un-named and driving me back in 2002, when I spent 2 months their, I don't disagree with that time a prognosis of a "one time episode", but currently that I "has a history of something" isn't fair. A history of something with no systoms.

  • How can somebody think/feel with me, their are many experiences ONLY I HAVE HAD, and what do they want that I don't pitch predictable/repeatable quieter.

female alone my in 12 rentals.

  • Holy sht look at his last name

  • That's true, James Cameron made Arnold.

  • T2 was his best film of all time. No other movie anyone has made compares to its brilliance.

  • I always giggle whenever I read this guys name: Stromboulopopolobolopopopoulos.

  • @thisisspartacus It's pronounced Stroumbopolodopapopadopolisapolipisabolibisadopoulous.

  • @thisisspartacus Yeah, it's a Greek name

  • cameron's awesome man he said he wrote avatar from his inspiration back in his pot smoking days.

  • Avatar was good but not amazing. Visually it was well done, however it lacked originality. Not dont get me wrong, it is a great popcorn fun flick as they say in the industry, however It lack originality and Im glad it did not win best picture. Although Cameron is a marketing film genious and definitely knows how to make an audience react.

  • Stroumboulopoulos Stroumboulopoulos Stroumboulopoulos Stroumboulopoulos

  • Adam Cohen, from the New York Times, summed up the movie incredibly as:

"a 22nd-century version of the American colonists vs. the British, India vs. the Raj, or Latin America vs. United Fruit"

  • @andyx1205 Or Dances with Smurfs. Thanks South Park.

  • i wonder if james still hate's canadas "dirty" oil ? how about the gulf spill? clean up your own fu#$ing back yard before you come and bitch about albertas asshole.

  • James Cameron used to utilize special effects to help tell his stories. Now, with Avatar, the special effects have become his story.

  • @Silverwire100 you don't have to like it but the movie was clearly about the challenges of indigenous people and environmentalism.

  • Aliens & Avatar are the only ones for me ^_^ Avatar especially.

  • Screw avatar and the titanic, its all about the terminator

  • James Cameron > Jesus Christ

  • James Cameron is a DOUCHE BAG and he can shove his propaganda film up his ASS...I hear there is still room next to his head!

  • @gonavy505 jealousy is not a good trait, get over yourself

  • @Asmodeus1967 Oh Yes!!! Terminator was the first pasterpiece. Avatar was the ultimate proof. He's the man!!!!

  • He's good at what he does Personally, I think Cameron is overrated.

  • this guy is my idol im working at uni on special effects and film studies so hopefully ill get to work or at least see him fingers crossed =)

  • YESS titanic is being re released. So good to hear it straight from his mouth. Can't wait!

  • @Asmodeus1967 yes that man is a true genius, but i'm telling ya, avatar's success has to do, in part, with the fact that titanic was so successful. If it wasn't for that film that acceded him to the front line of film-making, avatar wouldn't have gotten all this buzz and may not have done this well.

  • @hilsnchad It's the fact that he has so many haters who are jealous of his abilities to create interesting stories, they create the factor he needs to move forward; controversy.

  • next bad angel

  • you know with a couple of exceptions i have noticed that the recurring theme in cameron's films are about corporations and technology destroying civilization

  • James Cameron is a genuine master of filmmaking. I don't care what the naysayers say. Avatar and Titanic's success by itself proves that. But, even his early years in filmmaking shows how much the man knows what he's doing.

  • This guy is such a self deluded ego maniac its sickening. He thinks he is making important statement films, such as avatar?! Oh, how about terminator, or aliens, or perhaps true lies. They are all fun movies, but come on james, your just not that fucking important!

  • Being writer/director of two of the highest grossing films of all time makes him is slightly more important than you. Does it not?

  • @ThumbMonkey13 ever heard of inflation? james cameron hasnt

  • @Ultizer

Well even if you count with inflation Avatar is still the highest grossing film ever.

  • @1315229 no gone with the wind is, fucking idiot

  • @Ultizer

Ahh, didnt see it said domestically on wikipedia.

But still, your the fucking twat.

  • @ThumbMonkey13 no it most certainly does not ...get your fucking head out of your arse ....this guy is a uber- DOUCHBAG....he cancels debates then childishly calls people names ...he wants california bankrupt with prop23 ....do some research pal ....

    james cameron = elitist scum

    james cameron fans= dumbasses

  • @ThumbMonkey13 No, it doesn't.

  • I'm going to be completely honest, I personally didn't like Avatar that much, but I have a TREMENDOUS amount of respect for James Cameron. Anyone who says he isn't an absolute genius is pretty damn cynical.

  • Ooooooooooooh! ^^ Cameron is the best director ever!

  • One of the things wrong with The Hour, though plenty of interview shows do the same.

There is a pre interview so the guest knows what questions are coming. Very obvious those questions are not on the fly.

Did anyone really think that Strombo does raw interviews?

  • exactly, plus peoples wallets talk! lol

  • James Cameron is pg of a man!......nasty man, nasty!

  • lol 3:38 he says he's too cheap for the hollywood walk of fame star but he gets one in December of 2009 :P

  • Deep down, every man secretly loves Titanic.

  • @MrGoblinCock You are my hero :-)

  • Lol.

  • @MrGoblinCock True that! It's just a flat out good movie and I proudly display my collectors edition dvd case on my shelf!

  • @MrGoblinCock lol I only like the scenes of mayhem, the CGI was decent...maybe 15 minutes of good carnage. Rest is fucking gheysauce.

  • @MrGoblinCock That comment could never have been as awesome from anybody that wasn't named MrGoblinCock.

  • @TheGaelicMuse deep down in your mother is were im at present

  • wat an insult

  • @MrGoblinCock I don't, I got bored

  • @MrGoblinCock I liked the end when DeCapprio sank beneath the waves.

  • well anyway i hate George Stroumboulopoulos. hes a pretentious faggot.

  • What an interesting guy.

  • wow, u were really digging thru the comments, huh? : D

  • George always conducts great interviews, and this is no exception. Cameron's a great director, one of the best.

  • avatar is a unique kind of movie... according to me "I've visited pandora.." rather than saying "I watched avatar".. hat's off cameron, this movie will live forever !

  • hello,Mr James Cameron i like whan yo movie have i like my children play any movies whan you make ,,,,best in world James

  • I thought the name "Stroumboulopoulos" was a joke

  • @FlusherD12 That's not an accurate way of accounting for a movies success. Doesn't take into account a lot of other factors that negates the reasoning for going by ticket sales versus straight box office revenue.

  • i don't wanna

  • i'm too depressed and horny

  • you have been awarded biggest dork on the internet. congrats

  • The question is will Avatar be able to take home 11 Oscars including BEST PICTURE like Titanic did? Grats to Avatar for passing the record but it took a 3D and CGI movie to do it. Titanic didn't have those luxuries. Records are made to be broken so eventually it was gonna happen. Maybe in another 10 years or less, another movie will pass Avatar that boasts VIRTUAL REALITY Cinematic technology to do it.

  • James Cameron is the only filmmaker,

who made me wanna go and see the same movie for 7 times, in the theatre.

    He IS the best !

  • @thegr33nbastard

    your grammar is horrible.

  • way to follow a train of thought.
