  • dude your gonna have a shit ton of tomatos

  • what brand of soil did you use in those buckets?

  • Does anyone know if i can sucesfully grow early girl tomatoes in a 2.5 gallon buckey please reply

  • @Oasix21 yes u xan I have before

  • Hi, have you ever grown beefsteak tomatoes in buckets?

  • I never heard on an Earth Box. Now I want one,

  • typical bell peppers are the same plant they just turn different colors during ripening...lol

  • impressive

  • where did you get the buckets? iv been looking for some like that and can't find any.

  • Nice job! This should be a great inspiration for anyone wanting a garden that has only a balcony or patio and no yard.

    Thanks for posting.

  • So are you a pool man? lol This is great man. Thanx for posting.

  • Why in the hell would you want to grow mesquite trees? They are an invasive species that take over areas.

  • Ok, so is a 5 gallon bucket really required? Can we minimize this at all? Would they grow well in a 1 gallon or 2.5 gallon version?

    thanks

  • Is it necessary to have drainage holes in the bottom of your buckets???

  • Yes, yes it is.

  • @orbisonroad I have found that if you put the holes an inch or two above the bottom they don't dry out on hot days nearly as fast and I haven't had any problems with the soil being in water most of the time. I think it keeps the roots moist like a deep water culture system (hydroponic). Plus you don't waist any water each time you water.

  • This is a great garden. Look at the soil on the ground and its irrelevance. I discuss the same thing with another person who tries to amend their thin top soil and hard often water logged clay. I did 5 gal containers last year and I am doing more this year. As to spacing in 5 gal he can just move them or prune and trellis them as they grow out but then that is Arizona. Don't Arizona growers like foliage to shade the fruit?

  • Awesome garden. You probably want to stick with determinate tomatoes if your gonna keep the planters that close. Some like your early girl etc will grow too big and normally need 2-3 feet min spacing.
