1) This looks more like a Ju Jitsu lesson rather than a self defence course, Big difference, and before you have a pop at me I teach Ju Jitsu. its simply to technical to use after only a short amount of time training.
2) I understand this is a demo mainly, BUT seeing the techniques demoed agained a fast moving hard hitting target ie a person REALLY trying to execute the attacks ive seen people with 20 years experience in martial arts crumble when the cookie crumbles so to speak
At 2:26 and thereafter she should have finished him with kicks to the head, still hold the lock. You gonna let him back up because he taps. Like the monkey flip though.
@longlostdude to learn self defense, self defense is what should be taught. the weakness of martial arts is its art, theory and sport - not self defense. BAMM/IMPACT are the pioneers in womens self defense when martial arts has failed some woman. self defense borrows from martial arts what is useful and discards the esoteric theory and sport out. For example woman are tought to break the arm rather than take it to the breaking point waiting for the tapout.
You are an imbecile. What's the goddamn difference between armbarring someone to the point of tapping out and breaking it? An inch or two of moving the elbow. That's fucking it. If I can get you to tap out I can most certainly break your arm if I wanted to. You're evidently inexperienced in effective training and thus have no credibility in this matter.
these techniques are too technical to execute in real life situations, especially by someone who has never been attacked before. Ever hear of an "Adrenaline Dump"? it makes you feel like you're moving through water.
and they rely too much on pain compliance. Ive been hit square in the mouth by guys twice my size and due to the adrenaline didn't feel a thing.
grapple. for a smaller weaker opponent to try to stand up and bang with someone much larger is like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Womens' self defense? Hahaha
If women want to learn something that will actually help them in a real fight, they should take boxing or judo or other real martial arts classes.

Nice cop-out. You must be as lazy as the person who designed the class as seen in this video. Grow up.

you bitch about pain compliance and want more grappling?
more strking would make sense, and 110 women in my kenpo class could beat me up simply due to their skills, and higher rank, not their size

@6XstringXsamurai couldn't agree more with your comments - in a panic attack, they would never be able to do what they are showing here
