  • what abt soysauce? i thought ur gonna use it.

  • i like your voice . BD

    IT'S SO AWESOME.

    --off topic, okay sorry. c:

  • Thanks for this and the idea of the spam container for the mold. I do not have a mold and just would make them into rice balls. I had this when I was in Hawaii for 3 wks and got addicted to them. I add a little soy sauce and brown sugar once my spam is cooked and let it simmer a min or two to give it an extra sweet/salty taste. Again, thanks for the video. Aloha.

  • Same way I do em ray aloha bro

  • "You wanna jam that in there, as hard as possible, it might be a good idea to have your hands a little wet" . LOL that made me laugh so hard sorry .

  • @iC0nk3R dude, same here! i liked the katsu spam musubi too!

  • lol!!! said yo hands are clean

  • Nice idea using the can for the maker.

  • he sounds like KOBE

  • I think I'll try this, sounds delish :)

  • what was the sauce for?

  • Awesome,

    Thank you

  • Very silly but that can idea helped out a lot. Thanks!

  • what makes the rice really soft and squishy bc mine is never like that and ends up falling out of the nori

  • @666catsatan You have to use sticky rice. You can also try soaking the rice in water for a few hours before cooking it.

  • @666catsatan ur suppose to use specifically japanese rice

  • 20 minz!!! woah mine takes like a day

  • what did you use the soy sauce for?

  • @pbien16 :yes look for Hawaiian bbq

  • omg it took me 2 minutes to realize this guys black he sounds white

  • thank god these are the rite size..the last guy i went to made a huge one an put a tiny strip or nori on it O.o weird

  • I suggest u can find the molder in ebay

  • @08renz1 I have one, They sell them right by my house at the Oriental store. Thanks though.

  • lookes like dinner

  • What is this song called? Someone please tell me!

  • @willieJ96786 It's called Breakdown by Jack Johnson!

  • you need to take furakake and mix it with the rice before you smash it in there!! that's what adds the delicious magic flavor, duhh

  • Oh man... you went oldschool on this one. Thats exactly how mom made hers when I was a child... Luckily, you can find musubi makers at just about any Asian or Aloha markets in the U.S; Thats where we got ours; and we live in Texas...By the way..have you ever heard of crab cakes; What about spam cakes? Just a thought. Thanks for sharing... And remember... 3peat in the making!!! LA all Day!

  • @iC0nk3R Do it brah!!!I could use one right about now!!

  • WHAT HAPPEN TO TWO SLICES OF SPAM? YOU STARTED WITH SIX SLICES AND ENDED UP WITH FOUR. DID TWO VANISH IN THE COOKING PROCESS

  • Jack johnson (:

    heart warming

  • ohhh sorry i accidently clicked the dis like button i meant to like it. sorry.

  • where can i buy seaweed at? people tell me they sell it at walgreens?

  • @CHOLO435 You can buy seaweed at any local Asian market, I just go to the little Asian mom& pop store by my house. I have never seen it at Walgreens. When I lived in Hawaii, I think I remember it being sold at Wal-mart but that's a totally different market, so you wont find it at Walmart here on the mainland.

  • @BigRayH yea bro, thanks for the info. i went to wal-greens and they do sell it there lol... its really cheap!

    thanks for the info tho!

  • Mmm! I get to eat some tomorrow! I love having hawaiian friends in Utah!

  • funny!!! but good job big rayyyyy......

  • You should make more cooking videos.

  • Easy to understand vid. We're having our Asian-Pacific event here in Germany in May and I said I'd make either Spam Musubi or Loco Moco. I'm better at eating it than making it, but now I think I'll manage. Thanks for posting.

  • @vonBeavis I love Loco moco, I may make some this weekend!!!!

  • ive never seen it made this way..interesting. my folks have the plastic ting to put the rice in, but hey whateva works, onolicious!

  • @wyzeasschyk I have the plastic musubi makers also, but most people dont have one. So those people can use the can if they don't want to spend the extra money to buy the plastic maker.

  • crack musibi!!!!!!! i need some lol i'm in mississippi no hawaiian food at all i miss the LBC Cali

  • what sauce do you eat it with?

  • @frenchie510 you dont really need sauce with it, but you can use soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, honey, or what ever sauce you thinks taste good. I sometimes use like a teriyaki honey glaze, soy sauce, or no sauce.

  • Big Ray, thanks for posting this video. I've been wanting spam musubi for a while.

  • I can eat this everydayyy

  • @KulahMoo Yes!!! I can to Brah!

  • 30 minutes? all u need to do is cook the rice and then put it all together. the rice is already sticky

  • @JUKIO01 That is true, but letting it soak kind of gives it that extra mushyness. I make rice probably 3-4 time a week and I honestly only let it soak maybe once out of those 3-4 time. Oh and in this particular video, I was using regular long grain white rice, and it isn't very sticky unless you soak it.

  • @BigRayH ya, chinese eat long rice, and their not sticky. you would then have to soak it in water

  • lol i love jack johnson

  • @kopopo23 I love rice and spam!!

  • i like letting the fried spam sit in a mixture of soy sauce and sugar prior to making the musubi

  • teeheee.....its spam....

  • GJ on improvising with the long grain instead of the traditional better tasting rice...

  • i dont use stranger i just stir it with my dirty hand in the pot put it in the pot and when its done i see black green stuff

  • @iq12212 Nothing wrong with that , it adds more flavor, lol.

  • so what was the soy sauce for? or did i miss a step? haha nice video, i enjoyed watching it.. didn't know black and decker made rice cookers hahaha very funny with the seaweed "some a little off" but i don't understand the part about breaking your heart.. thanks for the tutorial

  • @msthaiii Well I thinkI missed a step also, sometimes I will just put the soy sauce on the rice after making it, sometimes I will cook the spam in it, sometimes I will add some agave nectar and soy sauce to it, just depends on my mood.

Yeah Black and decker does make them but they suck, the better kind is the Tiger Brand and the Zojrushi(spelling) brand. They are a lot more expensive than the one I have though and 10 times better.

  • which jack johnson album is playing???

    I love jack johnson <3

  • @xdeathisrighttherex It's his In Between Dreams ALbum. Very Good Album!!!

  • To make the rice not stick to your hand, its much better to dip your hands in some water, then it wont stick :D

Oh, and you should probably wait for your rice to cool before doing anything with it,

its good to fan it to room temperature (:

  • @LmaoItzAmy Cool Thanks.

  • dip the spam in teriyaki sauce OR mixed shoyu+sugar ... it's really yummy :)

  • @mz1nnocent Cool Thanks I will do that next time around.

  • Thanks for this tutorial! It's the best quality and most detailed one I saw. THANK YOU! :-)

  • @cinthialawlz Awesome, noproblem.

  • AHah , Thanks For Teaching Me How To Make Spam Musubi [=

  • Thanks for lesson...Your video was the best "how to" video!

  • @ShaNaNayKeyLolo

    Thanks I appreciate that.

  • btw you got to wash the rice. I mean it wont kill you not to or anything, but the way they process rice and package it there are a lot of chemicals in it. So its best to wash it :)

  • wow thanks you made me learn (:

  • Not.

    I'm in Cali.

  • You're missing the islands, huh ...

  • @CyberWahine Oh yeah, cant wait to go back and visit. What part are you from?

  • They BOTH look tastey!!

    Big Ray and the musubi!!

  • @CyberWahine haha, Thanks Wahine. Wow, this brings back memories, I haven't used the word Wahine in almost 2 years. Well, looks like your Youtube channel is pretty new. Welcome to Youtube.

  • thanks for the lesson man, but daaamn that is hella rice

  • Dude I love rice, I used to eat rice by its self.

  • In Hawai'i we pretty much eat rice every day a 20 pound bag lasts us only about a couple months

  • Cool, thanks gfor the advice, I'll give it a shot net time I make some!!! Thanks badsingersrbad!!

  • thats a small can man. in hawaii their bigger

  • I think you should know that's it's much more delicious if you make a marinade for the spam to soak for 10 minutes or so before frying. 1/4 C soy sauce, 1/2 C white sugar, 1 Table spoon Oyster sauce, and some fresh ginger. It makes an awesome dunking sauce too! Thanks for showing me how to put it together though :)

  • Yeah you can use regular rice but you have to use more water when cooking it and it can be inconsistent, so i would recommend finding/buying the short grain, sushi type. Its best to use this because it will come out better. Thanks for commenting.

  • lol while u where making the musubi u kept eatin alil XD funny ..love the video XD mohalo <i think thats how you spell it lol

  • hhmmmmmm sooo good

  • Sooo good!!

  • jack johnson is awesome :]

  • There's like a big variety of spam choices in Hawaii, but then I bet you already know that... :)

  • that's ingenius! you made your own spam musubi shaper/maker! I've never seen a spam can that small. I like to make mine with the honey glazed spam! yum! great job!

  • Thanks, I actually learned that from some peeps in Hawaii, the Spam can is just a regular spam can. Honey Glazed Spam sounds delicious, I have never seen that kind before. Tomorrow, I am going to buy the honey Glaze kind if I can find it. Thanks.

  • wHERE DOES THE SOY SAUCE GO? bUT OTHER THAN THAT, GREAT JOB!
