  • I love Dinah but this interpretation hides how beautiful the melody is.

  • Her diction and phasing was unmatched. Jazz, blues, swing and ballards. She did it all and with ease. The only living singers that can tell you how gifted and talented she was is Nancy Wilson and Della Reese. Quincy Jones knows first hand. They were an item for a period. Dinah was the first Queen. Her passing open the door for Aretha. Ask her.

  • one of the best voices ever recorded. time for her to be remembered in a movie about her life. Ledisi get ready. This is your ticket to stardom. Thelma Houston should have done it 30 years ago. Gerri Granger 40 years ago. Dinah was one of the best voices out there and crossed over before the term was penned.

  • @craig2061 Queen Latifah?

  • Wow wow wow wow WOW!

  • Why do people continue to compare singers to one another - singers from different time periods, as well as different genres? There's far too much that could never be the same, affecting their delivery and style. Why can't you appreciate each for their own, unique contribution to music, and leave at that?

  • Nither can out-sing Dinah or Sarah Vaughn....but, of cours, I'm fromthe old school....long, long ago. (*.*)...

  • Have loved Dinah Washington all my life...have many of he rescords....why doesn't another Dinah come to town? Miss Her! Thanks for sharing....
