The capproti is in the workshop awaiting its new tyres. Im down at hammersmith tommorow to stop all these break ins, such ashame that people take from such a lovely place that gives so much back to the local area.
The vintage set is surprisingly light. Weighs around 130 tons in its normal 6 vehicle rake so Sir Berkeley's load was slightly less than that as the motor car van was shunted off due to excess weight.
Very, very nice video Mike, one which I feel very proud to star in! I was the fireman on 1210 on the day and had a very enjoyable day with Steve, my driver. This was the second time I had fired Sir Berkeley, as I had the pleasure last time it visited us on an equally gorgeous day.
Keep up the good work! If you are at the Works Open Weekend this coming weekend I shall be on the Jinty with Roy on the Sunday.
Enjoyed meeting you again at Swanwick. Amazed you recognised me! Clive is planning to visit next Monday with Mrs Clive! The loco looked fun to drive as long as it wasn't raining. I assume you guys prefer the luxuries of the Caprott!
I always 73129 Caprotti as though its its name :)

Alas there are plenty of scumbags around these days.

Nice to hear from you! It is always good to hear from the star players! I had a really enjoyable day filming in the sun.
I think it's important to fire that engine on a nice day otherwise you might have to consider an umbrella!
We all enjoyed the tank overflowing during the water stop - well done for refusing to panic under pressure.
The engine was surprisingly powerful and seemed to have no problem with 5 coaches; it steamed pretty well as far as I could see,
Thanks for your efforts
Mike

I'm glad you enjoyed the day, we always do try to put on a good show!
Yes, I must agree with you and think myself very lucky to have two gorgeous days for my turns on her, considering the weather these past few years.
As for the tank overflowing, as far as I could see there was no pressure other than keeping the water out of my boots!
It did steam very well and is very easy to look after, even though the injectors are a little on the slow side.
Thanks,
Dan

Excellent video! 5* The coaches looked superb, as did the small engine. Not much consideration for "crew comfort" when she was built! Ha ha! Mike

Thanks. In 1890 men were men and did not require comfort!
