That planet is probably the Forunner home world from halo legends. In the video it showed it infested with flood and then they all got destroyed except for a flood infector that came out of one of the helmets of the Forunners
the only thing remaining from onyx is a shield world of few meters of diameter (the interior has another dimension which is bigger) and trillions of sentinels flying around the destroyed planet.
and, before the planet was destroyed, the UNSC didn't identify the planet as artificial (it had a natural looking surface)...
they even used the planet for the "spartan III" proyect, but, when "delta halo" was activated the onyx sentinels woke up and they had a fight with the UNSC, that was the moment when the humans realized the planet was artificial... dude.. just wait until 2012 and we'll see what happens ;)

Ok I was doing some investigating and apparently and that world is the other Legendary Forerunner Shield World, one of POSSIBLY many built by the Forerunners. So if they do another Halo Game (Made by 343 Studios) it may have not just the Flood but also Dr. Halsey and some of the remaining Spartans, assuming that they are still alive.

Chief landed in a forerunner planet aka the legendary planet it couldn't be reach because it was destroyed in halo one due to the fact that reach was there last defensive system before earth. When reach was burned every Spartan except master cheif and grey team ( where abouts unkown cause they were to far from the battle ) died
I disagree with anyone saying that its reach because when the whole ship went through the portal thing or whatever and got cut in half cortana and chief got sent somewhere way out in space. Cortana said she would send out a beacon also and if they were right there near reach they would have been found pretty much instantly. So during slipspace it takes time to get where you want to (It doesn't matter if its a Blind Jump). So MC might of Slipspace jumped to when Reach was being recolonized (2589 July 7). So it might be when all the Forerunner secrets were uncovered. Thats my opinion!
It is not Reach the humans came back to recolinize, and you can see Forerunner symbols when the planet goes really bright. So It's either a Forerunner Shield World or The Forerunners Home Planet... I don't know but we will find out when Halo 4 comes out. It's being made by 343 Industries, R.I.P. Bungies Halo games.. They always leave so many mysteries that I have to uncover. @thedarkroomalive dude it's not reach it is a forerunner installation that was used as a safety area for when Halo fired from the ark. there are symbols on the planet that don't match reach at all dude look up the legendary planet at the end of halo 3 it has pictures of symbols from halo 2 and 3 emblems along with the marathon symbol. The symbols are on the planet from side views and there's no way in hell that the land mass of that planet matches with Reach.

no, he didn't land on reach, if you knew the order of things, reach happens a long time before halo 3, reach is completely destroyed, and the landmarks are not the same, did you see those symbols on the plants surface in that area? those are forerunner symbols

Read The Fall Of Reach, it's got Master Chief's origin story in it.

@sovietlemon There are going to be more Halos. Bungie however isn't going to make them. The franchise is was almost perfected by Reach and now it is over for Bungie's involvement in the creation of any other halo games. The next one should be out with the next 5-10 years if the economy picks up but Halo will never be the same. If there were a way to make a movie out of the games to make it feel the same in every aspect of awe and amazement then that would be a way to finish Halo completely.

In chronological order the games go: Halo: Reach,Halo:Combat Evolved,Halo 2,Halo 3:ODST,Halo:3. So therefore,it's ALSO logically impossible for him to be in that EXACT cryopod in Reach. ALSO, the name of the shp he's on in this video is named " Forward Unto Dawn". The ship he's on in Reach,as I stated before, is the Pillar Of Autumn. NERD PWN! LOL :P

Ok I was doing some investigating and apparently and that world is the other Legendary Forerunner Shield World, one of POSSIBLY many built by the Forerunners. So if they do another Halo Game (Made by 343 Studios) it may have not just the Flood but also Dr. Halsey and some of the remaining Spartans, assuming that they are still alive.

So dr.hasley knew that reach would fall halo four is probely him fighting his way from the last of the flood that survived there. And brutes vs covent/humans on earth also June helps dr. Hasley in her new updates of Spartans in training when they took 300, 7 year olds to become Spartans and they always had an eye on the main characters of most of the * stars * in halo

Chief landed in a forerunner planet aka the legendary planet it couldn't be reach because it was destroyed in halo one due to the fact that reach was there last defensive system before earth. I disagree with anyone saying that its reach because when the whole ship went through the portal thing or whatever and got cut in half cortana and chief got sent somewhere way out in space. Cortana said she would send out a beacon also and if they were right there near reach they would have been found pretty much instantly. Also im not saying its a forerunner planet i honestly have no idea it could be fuckin planet of the apes for all i know

Ok here is a real big fact that no one really uncovered except for a couple of people...in the halo games there are terminals, each terminal tells a brief story about the forerunners but the last one (not too sure it was exactly the last terminal) there was a note that one of the forerunners wrote to his father before the flood got too out of control stating that he left the planet because he personally didn't want to be in the conflict which he brought some of the fleets armada with him to a f

At the end of reach, when your helmet is in the ground...it zooms out to show a ship that has landed on forge world. Master chief flew towards a planet that did that wierd glow like in the halo reach premier. Bingo. Master C. and Cortana have landed on Reach. What a cliffhanger.

Oh and one more thing.. You know how to Pillar of Autumn slipspace jumped to the Halo ring? Well It was August 30 2552 when it left but when it went into slipspace and teleported next to the Halo ring the date was September 19 2552. So during slipspace it takes time to get where you want to (It doesn't matter if its a Blind Jump). So MC might of Slipspace jumped to when Reach was being recolonized (2589 July 7). So it might be when all the Forerunner secrets were uncovered. Thats my opinion!

It is not Reach the humans came back to recolinize, and you can see Forerunner symbols when the planet goes really bright. So It's either a Forerunner Shield World or The Forerunners Home Planet... I don't know but we will find out when Halo 4 comes out. It's being made by 343 Industries, R.I.P. Bungies Halo games.. They always leave so many mysteries that I have to uncover. This must be the biggest game mystery in the world!

if you don't believe me, go to "halopedia", BTW the planet had a natural looking surface when it was discovered by the UNSC. they never suspected it was artificial until they got attacked by sentinels when delta halo was activated :-)

@thedarkroomalive dude it's not reach it is a forerunner installation that was used as a safety area for when Halo fired from the ark. there are symbols on the planet that don't match reach at all dude look up the legendary planet at the end of halo 3 it has pictures of symbols from halo 2 and 3 emblems along with the marathon symbol. The symbols are on the planet from side views and there's no way in hell that the land mass of that planet matches with Reach.

if youy saw the ending for reach the geogrifical (spelling fail) landmarks are the same as when it was glassed and you see a crashed ship next to a colony ship put 2 and 2 together and masterchief landed on reach.

no, he didn't land on reach, if you knew the order of things, reach happens a long time before halo 3, reach is completely destroyed, and the landmarks are not the same, did you see those symbols on the plants surface in that area? those are forerunner symbols

Cortana is the AI that resides in his suit sometimes, Master Chief is his rank, and John 117 is his first name and the number of Spartan II that he is. "John 117" was written on the memorial, probably because everyone on Earth thinks he's dead. Halo: Reach comes before Halo1, so he's very much alive then. Read The Fall Of Reach, it's got Master Chief's origin story in it.

@RockNRoll486 Ok, here's how it goes....at the end of ahlo 3 the ship chief was in got split in two pieces.....The monument had "117" carved into it cuz at that point they assumed chief had died when in fact he was just off somewhere else floating around in space.....Now reach is a prequel to the trilogy and if u dont know that then u have issues.....chief was sleeping in that pod yes because that takes place before he gets woken up by Keyes in Halo:Combat Evolved--month or so after Reach.

@sovietlemon There are going to be more Halos. Bungie however isn't going to make them. The franchise is was almost perfected by Reach and now it is over for Bungie's involvement in the creation of any other halo games. The next one should be out with the next 5-10 years if the economy picks up but Halo will never be the same. If there were a way to make a movie out of the games to make it feel the same in every aspect of awe and amazement then that would be a way to finish Halo completely.
