  • To Ilovebilleveans

Thank you for your kind thoughts, however I am not related in any way to Kenny Drew. More's the pity, but what can I do?!

    Martin Drew

  • Really sorry about that. How embarrasing. I just realised once I put my glasses on and worked out who was who that none of you were likely to be a blood relation of Kenny Drew??? I am over the moon though cos have realised that you guys are playing at the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen. I play piano in a little band and we were going to be trying out this wonderful Victor F tune at a gig in Aberdeen on June21st. We are a bunch of amateurs so it will not sound same as you. Jill

  • Wow this is great. Only know Adderley version. Love those vibes. Is Martin Drew any connection to the Kenny Drews?

  • Goddamn, you guys are grooving. I just heard this on Dec 17, 2008. This is really great. Great Vic Feldman tune. I first heard it by the great Cannonball Adderley. Great work, what else you got?

  • Thanks for the kind words.

New CD out now (Officially February 2009)called "Brazilian Thoroughfare".

Three other albums out are "Celebrating The Jazz Couriers Vol.1; "Through The Night"; "Azule Serape". Hope you enjoy them.

  • absolutely amazing!!

  • This is excellent. Are there any more professionally done videos of this group available?

  • Quality never goes out of style...Victor sure could write!

  • Never heard of this group before, but they are fantastic! Would like to hear them in person -- better accoustics. Thanks for posting this. The Adderley Quintet also recorded this, but have been unable to find that one. . . jenny6664

  • For my money Mornington has been for a long time Britain's no 1

  • Really good to hear a tune by the late Victor Feldman played by these great British musicians. Many thanks.!!

  • I was cut off from saying anything more by YouTubes word limit, so I'm continuing here. Just to say that Martin Drew is the best drummer we have ever produced in the UK and one the most self effacing and considerate leaders. May he long continue. Melling, Lockett and Morgan are also world class musicians. A great, great band.

  • Martin's band is sensational although the sound is awful on this video, you can get an idea of the excitement this band generates in person. In Hart, Martin has one of the best British musicians the UK has ever produced. Not only is he a sensational vibist, he is also one of the best drummers I've ever heard. He also plays piano but I've yet to hear him on this instrument (for some reason, no one ever asks him to play piano).
