So what were looking at here is a transformation and a strengething of the core. I need more resources to steady my core in times of stress. Thus hypnotheraoy is a viable resource for people who drink when stressed out.
Dear Stanton, you're absolutely right! If the politicians here in Europe would wake up, we would have had far less organized crime and far less drugrelated deaths due to the fact that most drug addicts die from the chemical substances put into the non legal bad quality drugs.- greetings from Copenhagen.
what many do not understand about this man is that he did very poorly in his education experience. He had many psychotic like break downs in class. He is a very odd character and is on many medications. Check his pupils in this video and the slow blinking. A very odd character indeed. Has no medical training at all.
The AMA categorized alcoholism as a disease. You are neither scientists nor medical doctors, and need to defer to the professional organization that made the determination. And if you are of the opinion that alcoholism is not a disease, we would respectfully request that you submit your medical or scientific proof to that effect.
I don't even consider a Physiologist a real doctor. This man is a witch doctor who thinks he knows what he is talking about. The degree that this scmuck has can be obtained on the internet.
@miket1m Learn to read moron. He's a psychologist, not a physiologist. And what do you mean physiologists aren't real doctors? You are a total idiot, aren't you? Be honest, brain damage?
@zachpsick I misspelled the word you fucking jackass. Over reacting, don't ya think? This quack is an imbecile. This is just his nitwit opinion. He's not a real doctor, a real scientist. What does he really know about alcoholism? Apparently not much. You, you idiot, I forgot more than you'll probably ever learn. Shut the fuck up ass clown.
@miket1m Yes. You come off as highly educated. Much more of an intellectual than the physiologist Peele. (How do you misspell "psychologist" and end up with "physiologist" by the way?)
And anyone who doesn't think a PhD is a "real doctor" probably hasn't "forgotten more than I have learned."
Physiologist, I was actually thinking of the physiological abnormality of alcoholism How the addiction to alcoholism can be traced back to a liver enzyme malfunction that results in a buildup of acetaldehyde in the body. Large amounts of acetaldehyde in the brain interact with the brain amines to create isoquinolines. This triggers the alcoholics need to drink more and more alcohol to counter the painful effects of the buildup of acetaldehyde. Whats your interest in this imbecile?
@miket1m The problem with google is that I have it too. So, what I did was copy and paste your sentences into google. What did I find? That you copied and pasted them FROM google into a comment section! You didn't even change the wording, except in certain places to make it grammatically incorrect (exchanging "that" for "which.")
If you are trying to appear intelligent, it's best to at least try to summarize what you read so that you can't be broken off so easily.

I would bet all I have that Dr. Peele has NEVER had an addiction problem. As I watched this "expert" my "diseased" mind started to think...Hmmmm he's a Doctor....maybe I could have just one drin....WTF am I thinking!!! Another example of some one who is "educated" assuming he knows something about something he's never experienced, and never will experience, BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE THE DISEASE OF ADDICTION!! Any has questions regarding "controlled drinking", Google: Audrey Kishline. Doc's buddy!
@HALLE212 The fact that you have to be dishonest about 'Audrey Kishline' tells me a lot, where you confident in your argument you would not have left out some crucial details. Her accident ocured AFTER she had left the harm reduction program. it was while she was a member of AA that this tragedy occured, but you conveniently left that part out. Yes he is a doctor, and your comment is ridiculous, like saying a surgeon should not remove an appendix because her has never had appendicitis.
i agree with this Mr. Peel. i remember back in high school i was literally addicted to those Grandmother chocolate cookies and Sour Patch kids. lol damn those were good :)
Never has AA encouraged binge drinking.. it encourages complete abstinence. Even one drink is called a "slip", as people who cannot control how the addiction process works cannot usally control how much they consume. Also, AA encourages responsible behavior, not drunk driving, Peele drank with Audrey, he relates in his mesage that he "drank wine" with her. Now, was that supporting her abstinence? AA advocates complete abstinence.
In a way Peele "was behind the wheel" because he did not take her keys away. Friends do not let friends drive drunk, In fact "friends" encourage sobriety, and responsible behavior. Ask yourself> Who is driving YOUR bus? Besides, it's was Peele's lack of support for Audrey AFTER the fact that is appalling. He knows HE is wrong, and is so smug in his denial.
I like how you can use this logic to broad stroke condemn all that he does but it seems to be absent when you talk about AA. Is AA immune in your eyes, it seems so.
Reminds me of fundamental christians selective score keeping.
AA helps some, and not all. SO what? What does it matter to you? And you forget those that can stay sober and not bitter without Aa, fine. Those that bash it, don;t have any gratitude for the time it gave them. they only see it as the time they gave to it! and, what better time spent, eh, at least it was drying out time.. with support of others. "Peele shoild know better: The locus of addiction is : how drugs REACT and are broken down by the body, and the it's the reaction IN the addicted body/brain. How drugs affect behavior is different than addiction."
Okay hammie the floor is your, answer the question: what is your definition of the difference between behavior and addiction, or is this too complicated for you, and others who can't understand words like serotonin or acetylcholine. Explain the error in genetic studies to me again. Oh yes, i believe you saif they were a "myth".Explain that to me again?
You throw up all sorts of unrelated terms that you have no understanding of whatsoever ("brain chemistry", "beer balls", "chromosome 15", "GABA receptors", DTs, etc), say that it's all "too complicated", and then suggest that your fellow debatee go study a course at their local college.
You've never posted a coherent hypothesis on these threads in your life.
Oh! I forgot the other "master stroke" of debate that you like to employ!
After farcically throwing up dissociative, unrelated, and utterly incoherent terms/concepts (eg "brain chemistry", "physical addiction', "beer balls", "chromosome 15", "GABA receptors", DTs, etc) that you have absolutely ZERO understanding of - you are actually mindless enough to think that it is sufficient to direct your debating counterpart to GOOGLE the terms that you post!
You were able to stay dry, however You do not write like a sober person. only an abstinent person who is bitter and angry that you aren't using, It comes across in everything you write. U react, U browbeat, U condemn. U advocate for this guy Peele who condemns to Hell people who drink and cannot stop on their own, and do you.
Soberity has a whole lot more to it than being a dry drunk-
Abstinence is the act of abstaining from the substance, However, if you went to 12step meetings U would know the difference between abstinence and sober attitude and lifestyle. Get a different dictionary. Yours if wxtremely limited.
"U C in order to make this fair, it is imperative U have the education, Besides only a fool would debate a fool, or try to force feed an intellectual anorexic! . However, the wise give intellegent direction and suggestions, That's how the program works, buddy, You can take it or leave it."
I see...
THAT'S how the program "works" is it? By making NO SENSE WHATSOEVER...?
"Written like a true addict who doesn't want to accept any Good Orderly Direction."
Since leaving AA, my well being and life circumstances have improved out of site in SO many ways. I have a triple major undergraduate degree, a masters degree and am about 6 months away from securing my PhD. My relationships have become much more abundant and of a far superior quality. Financially and professionally, I am better than ever - with a franchising business and a promotion to management at work.
Whether it be "Gathering Of Drunks" or the indoctrinated, incarcerated, AA version of "Good Orderly Direction" - I don't need it and I don't miss it...
Ultimately it keeps you trapped in ignorance...
I only have to read the drivel that you post to receive confirmation of that evey...
Evey, I have 14 years of sobriety and a very manageable, rewarding, and wealthy life to go with it.
Look around evey. You've got no friends, no money, and obviously no education or intelligence. It's just you in that little grimy room with all that greasy fried chicken smeared across your face.
Which one of us do you think is "sober"?
(That's a rhetorical question evey. You, I, and everyone reading this thread knows that it certainly isn't you...)
Dear Mr Hammersley, if you have so many resentments with and against the rest of the world still after 14 years of sobriety it must have been a hard life for you not to take that first one.
I understand you left the fellowship: preaching is not allowed!
I am a happy NA member and wish you a sereen day, just for today.
"if you have so many resentments with and against the rest of the world still after 14 years of sobriety"
What gives you the idea that I'm resentful?
Motivated to critique the 12 step paradigm and its mindless cohorts - yes.
But resentful at the world in general?
Once again, critique 12 step and the small minded pigeon-holing labels come out. You guys just CANT accept and respond to a critique of 12 step on its own merits.
I doubt that you "wish me a sereen (erm, that's serene) day".
Ham: and Ur 14 yrs of sobriety led U to B king of the Legion 12 Network, Joke or not., Hammie, that's pretty sad. U Got sum 'splainin' to do, Lucy....... Have u sent Mr. Peele all of the Legion 12 Network material to review?
Hey Oinky.. Yeah ive been great, just got a new job as a Sales and Event coordinator for one of the biggest companies in Canada.. Other than that im enjoying a nice strain of B.C Kush and a fine wine....
So what were looking at here is a transformation and a strengething of the core. I need more resources to steady my core in times of stress. Thus hypnotheraoy is a viable resource for people who drink when stressed out.

"Explain the error in genetic studies to me again."
Evey, you have never cited, nor explained, any genetic hypothesis or supportive body of research thereof.
So, how can I "explain the error in the genetic studies"?
I don't know what "studies" you are talking about.
State a hypothesis, provide the supporting data and analysis, and then I'll see if I can explain the error to you.
State your case, provide the evidence, and then perhaps we can talk.
However, I'm not holding my breath evey...
Hammersley1967 2 years ago
"answer the question: what is your definition of the difference between behavior and addiction, or is this too complicated for you"
The DEFINITION of a DIFFERENCE?
Its not that its complicated - it's more the case that it just doesn't make sense.
How can a difference be defined? Expounded maybe - but defined?
Here's a tip: Slow down, take your time and think before you tap.
Also, its a good idea to read your comment and ask yourself:
"Does that make sense?"
before clicking "POST COMMENT".
Hammersley1967 2 years ago
As a matter of fact evey - don't bother...
I know the inane, puerile tripe that you post.
You're a complete waste of time.
No thanks.
Hammersley1967 2 years ago
As if that was adequate evidence!!!
LOL!!!

"You were able to stay dry, however You do not write like a sober person. only an abstinent person"
Evey, you don't seem to have a grasp on the very simple definition of the term "sober". Let me help you out:
"Sober (adjective): Not intoxicated. Not under the influence of drugs or alcohol."
Encarta English Dictionary (2009)
Thus, the euphemism "dry" is equivalent in meaning to "sober"...
Not too complicated is it?
You're semantic reality differs somewhat from the rest of humanity's...
Hammersley1967 2 years ago
Soberity has a whole lot more to it than being a dry drunk-
Abstinence is the act of abstaining from the substance, However, if you went to 12step meetings U would know the difference between abstinence and sober attitude and lifestyle. Get a different dictionary. Yours if wxtremely limited.
evet45 2 years ago
Evey, I repeat:
"Sober (adjective): Not intoxicated. Not under the influence of drugs or alcohol."
Encarta English Dictionary (2009)
It's far too complicated for your feeble little mind isn't it?
You can't grasp that simple definition can you?
I challenge you to find me a dictionary definition that matches your fictitious meaning.
Sorry evey, wrong again...
Oh Dear! This is getting embarrassing isn't it?

I see...
THAT'S how the program "works" is it? By making NO SENSE WHATSOEVER...?
I think I'll leave it...

"12 steppers do not force feed, it's your denial that makes U feel that way."
My denial "makes me feel" that "12 steppers force feed"?
Either they do or they don't - it's got nothing to do with me anymore...
That doesn't make sense evey...

Good!! If a 12step place had something to do with me I'd blow it up or burn down the building it's in! LOL

G.O.D.?
Whether it be "Gathering Of Drunks" or the indoctrinated, incarcerated, AA version of "Good Orderly Direction" - I don't need it and I don't miss it...
Ultimately it keeps you trapped in ignorance...
I only have to read the drivel that you post to receive confirmation of that evey...

"U do not present urself as a sober person"
Evey, I have 14 years of sobriety and a very manageable, rewarding, and wealthy life to go with it.
Look around evey. You've got no friends, no money, and obviously no education or intelligence. It's just you in that little grimy room with all that greasy fried chicken smeared across your face.
Which one of us do you think is "sober"?
(That's a rhetorical question evey. You, I, and everyone reading this thread knows that it certainly isn't you...)
Hammersley1967 2 years ago
Dear Mr Hammersley, if you have so many resentments with and against the rest of the world still after 14 years of sobriety it must have been a hard life for you not to take that first one.
I understand you left the fellowship: preaching is not allowed!
I am a happy NA member and wish you a sereen day, just for today.

"it must have been a hard life for you not to take that first one."
Ah! Is that the blathering of yet ANOTHER indoctrinated NA-NA I hear?
Tell me, what gives you the idea that "resentment" is directly proportional to cravings for drugs and/or alcohol?
That's right! You read it in that blue-coloured book and you heard it over and over and over again in meetings...
Have you actually noticed yourself craving mind/mood altering chemicals more when you're resentful?
Really?
Hammersley1967 2 years ago

"if you have so many resentments with and against the rest of the world still after 14 years of sobriety"
What gives you the idea that I'm resentful?
Motivated to critique the 12 step paradigm and its mindless cohorts - yes.
But resentful at the world in general?
Once again, critique 12 step and the small minded pigeon-holing labels come out. You guys just CANT accept and respond to a critique of 12 step on its own merits.
I doubt that you "wish me a sereen (erm, that's serene) day".

Evey, your beat...
Everyone reading these threads can see that your ignorance has been revealed and that you've got nothing left.
You're humiliated, desperate, out of answers, and way out of your intellectual league.
PLEASE keep going with the "Legion" stuff.
Not only does it reveal your shoe size IQ and gullibility, but it it also shows how you've been outclassed and out done.
You've never scored one point against me or anyone else on these threads and the whole world can see it...
