I noticed there was no spread fire or anything like that, and I remember it being in this game, is it because you didn't get enough "fire" pods or am I mistaken?
What I used to do was get the 1up in level 1, collect power up pods until time ran out, then repeat a few times until fully powered up, then continue as normal. I think whichever way you turned in the race to the finish stages determined the subsequent levels. I remember another iceberg level where they moved more- that was almost impossible. Never beat that shark though. Kind of glad now, because that ending would have pissed me off no end!
Back in the day i barely made it to level 20 got to the second jump the waterfalls once but now ive manage to completle this game LOL great runthrough

Still, this game has me inspired! I think they could make a new Cobra Triangle game, staying true to the terribly campy 1988 feel. Glittering gold title and everything!

Ironically, why did the next to last boss die without you having to hit him? makes no sense. All the bosses seemed too easy while the levels were impossible.

This game was so hard, I got to the shark and got eaten. The last level was way too easy to finish up on. Now after 20 years I see how the game ends, bloody sad on my behalf.
Damn, 25 levels. I remember that when I was a child and I played this with my friends, we once, just once, made it to the boss of the ice levels, we paniced and started to move around shooting at the same time but that bastard just killed us. And we wept like little girls :D
Those final levels look brutal, well not compared to games like Gradius and Life Force Tenka which are just way too difficult to play through without cheating. And Rad Gravity was a troublemaker too, hard as hell.

Oh my God. I remember not being able to get past the very last Jump The Waterfall and getting so frustrated and probably crying. LOL

I hate games like this that are impossibly hard, then give you a lame ending, just like Captain Skyhawk. Ticks me off to no end.
Anyway, excellent playthrough. This is my first time seeing the whole game and the ending. Thanks.

Actually, try the game again and fight that boss, just this time. Dont Fight. Simply do nothing, and it dies.
