  • I remember playing this in my first year of symphonic my sophomore year. This piece helped me become a better player. Yeeeeeeah, tuba.

  • This song is badass, it keeps changing :)

  • Gonna play this for the State competition coming up, great piece of music! it would be great as a theme song for a game

  • @sakume777ruukasu Me too!

  • great song, playing it now in 9th grade... (1st trumpets ftw!!)

  • Played this in 7th grade.....nostalgia burst.

  • This is a nicely done take on a popular high school symphony. It gave me thrills playing this in 1973 in the trumpet section of the Minot High School band. Today I'm in my 50s and nothing gives me more hope for the future than kids who study and perform music.

  • Very nice performance of one of the classics. Every section gets a chance to show what they can do. We played this when I was a freshman in high school back in 1974.

  • wooo bari sax solo! i love it!!! i plaed this same piece my sophomore year. With La Puente high School!

  • I'm in ninth grade right now and we're going to play it for our upcoming concert! I play first chair bassoon, so i have that little solo...

  • Great french horns @ 2:31! I haven't heard this since we played it in jr high symphonic band (King Jr High, Los Angeles 1987).

  • My high school band did this piece in 1967. Nowhere near as good as this band. Fantastic!

  • I played this song in 9th grade! Holy crap! I didn't think anything anything would come up in the results!!! Thanks for posting!

  • Nice to see this piece, having played it way back in the '70s. Hey conductors: how about some variations in tempo and dynamics? This is a great piece for some expressive playing, but all the bands I've seen on YouTube seem to really bang their way through.

  • We sight read this, we did pretty good.

We might end up playing it at

Parade of Bands. I played B.Clarinet

  • Lol @perfectlyXimperfect3. What's your name? Lol I'm gabe. What number chair aare you?

  • omg i played bari sax for this song in a state competition my freshman year. The judges loved it.

  • Played this my freshman year...lol...

  • my school played this song for a competition! we were like .20 or something like that points away from getting the highest score. it wasn't like a competition against other bands, if it was we would have gotten first cause we were the highest level band there. lol we did pretty well for learning it in 3 days.

  • oooooooh thats cool,

  • i was sitting first bassoon in this band xD. i love this piece

  • The conductor needs to loosen up a bit on certain parts...

    Great playing, though!

  • I love this piece. We played it in my Jr. High band in about 1970. Sure broadened my musical horizons.

  • we played this my freshmen year keep in mine we only had like 40 at the most or so i played bari sax i love the part with me and the bassoon we took this and 2 othres to dallas and we got perfect ratings i love this song SAXKILLA*

  • We're doing this at my school also. My teacher is trying to get our normal symphonic band to play it and no one can execpt for me and a few other students. This makes me jealous...I wish our band was like this one =D we don't have any basoons or french horns besides like 2 in our wind ensemble

  • Jeez, I was 2nd clarinet in Chicago's South Shore High School band when we played this at our band concert in 1966. This, and the Triumphal March from Quo Vadis, were my favorite pieces that year. We weren't anywhere near as good as this band. Wonderful to hear this piece again. Thanks for posting.

  • cool we are playing this too in N Colonie

  • im on barisax in my school ...this song pwns

  • i played this song with my band when i was in 8th grade it was so much fun i love this piece

  • we're playing this in school now. I'm second oboe

  • very good overall, just that the lower winds should come out a little be more.

i remember playing this in 8th grade. I was the only bass clarinet and I was so nervous, but we did well.

  • oh, and the low brass don't need to be so shy in the beginning. The opening chords sounded so empty without the full brass sound.

  • holy crap I was 2nd oboe xPPP I didn't even know this was her :OOOO

  • needs more bass, besides the bass solo

  • was baritone saxophone also =D

  • i'm a flute too and my school is playing this song also...you guys sound great only thing is people need to be quiet in the background so it won't take away from the vid.

  • it's kinda slow. well i guess that's the right tempo but we played it faster *rolls eyes at our director*

we're 7th from the top on the related videos haha.

  • Y'all did pretty well. I myself just finished a concert where we played this song.

Constructive criticism? I think the trumpets were unheard in places where they should be heard. The flutes seem to overpower a little, but they play awesome, so its good. Wouldve been cool if you wouldve come WAY down in some dynamic areas, but i really enjoyed it!

  • I was the cymbals!!!!! :D yay cymbals!

  • acoustics are TERRIBLE

    good job though

  • very

  • woooot. i was 1st chair bassoon xDD

  • lol not bad but the distance from stage makes it sound like its off beat O.o

  • I noticed that after you said that. Your right
