  • if you truly appreciated the wushu in this video then you wouldnt care what some high and mighty traditional practitioner would think. likewise if your traditional you should know that each persons' art is something that should be respected and not criticized, martial arts has evolved well past simply ripping each others to pieces with theif fists. you should be happy that people are practicing martial ARTS in such a manner where they dont really need to fight for supremacy any more.

  • useless bickering arguments that makes both sides look stupid when you just cant even except that contemporary wushu and traditional are two sides of the same coin. seriously ur all in the wrong here if you've made any argument for either side being better. i

  • empieza desde 3:25 en verdad, si qeres ahorrarte los resumenes de 'otros' competidores. muy bueno

    3:25

  • as to the bare hands fight.

even the mma or ufc in america is not real fight in ancient China.

real fight of martial art always coz death or disable, because it is art of kill, there r too many dangerous moves such as get out of your eyeballs, break your bones...

today in order to get into Olympics, artist put on gloves, obey rules, those who has bigger strength and faster speed always win, small guys has no chance in such sports.

  • As a man from China, i can say most of you guys totally wrong about wushu(martial art).

wushu is a art of kill, is name of any kill skills, including boxing, karate, etc.

kungfu is the level of your wushu skills.

Tai Chi Quan is a kind of wushu, just like bagua, xingyi, monkey quan, snake quan, blabla.

wushu is useless? yes, u can't kill anybody with swords in nowadays, so wushu only can be show like this. you wanna a real fight with an martial artist with a sword? he'll kill u in a minute.

  • amazing song! whats the name of the song!!

  • @EASkatekrew you really dont know nothing about this.. wushu is te martial art for excellence. thats qhy not many people can practice.. and if you want to try to fight with a wushu guy.. becarefull because thats why sanda exist in wushu..

  • @batarista I have been training in shaolin kung fu and wushu for 12 years continuously, my comment was very true. I didn't mean wushu would not help in self defense, but you also must agree that wushu is mostly for flashy and flary attention seeking skills. Thats is why it is most popular in competitions. And i can very well practice wushu, i do everyday, i have trained at the shaolin temple with Shi Yan Ming and Hu Jianqiang on numerous accounts as well as testing for 3 of my black belts with

  • @batarista Grand Master Hu and he is one of the greatest in the wushu art.

  • what is the name of de music????

  • Clearly this is just show. But these people also learn self-defense in the hours in which they train.

  • this is like how gymnastics is for western people.

  • Song: Huo Yuan Jia

    Singer: Jay Chou

    <3

  • Haven't heard Jay's song in FOREVER. Lawl.

    Great Wushu Vid btw.

  • What song u used?

  • ninjitsu or whatever is the best all round Martial Art. Best at somethings and decent and everything.

  • @Samuelz10 Personally I think Wushu is the best. :)

  • @kangriyx wushu is flashy but not as effective as other tradtional martial arts

  • @sonnyboi83 I don't think so. Each technique in Wushu forms has its own application. Many people look down on forms a lot, but it's the way traditional Chinese martial artists have been practising for thousands of years. In the late Qing dynasty, China was very poor and many foreigners came to challenge Chinese Wushu masters. They were virtually all defeated.

  • @kangriyx we might have a different view of the term wushu, from wat I've read tradional martial arts were suppressed by the Mao Zedong government in fear of being assassinated because he have seen how powerful it is. Instead a new Wushu was introduce by the government in the form of the video above. Google it if u want proof

  • @sonnyboi83 Yeah, Mao Zedong didn't allow anything traditional to be practised in those old days. If you did ANYTHING traditional, they killed you. :/ But with the reforms, martial arts were re-introduced. In this video, you see forms. There is also sparring in Wushu. Forms and Sparring are the two main disciplines of Wushu and they're taught alongside each other.

  • Umm... Wow I guess...yea, wow

  • Oh look, 4 people accidentally missed the Like button.

  • Can anyone tell me who made the music?

  • @hobbesthebrainslug12 jay chou

  • Very nice video ....awesome :D

  • 4 people disliked this video.... hahahaha

  • if you don't know how to fall that would be preety badass...

  • When falling like they were u land on elbows first, thighs second, toes 3rd, torso last.

  • Wushu is NOT for self defense. Wushu is a type of shaolin kung fu that consists of flexibility, jumping, and reaction skills. In a case of self defense, just plain old shaolin kung fu does the trick. Wushu is basically for show, wich is why it is most popular in competitions.

  • @EASkateKrew Yes, you may be right, wushu its for performance. But you cannot say that Wushu is NOT for self defense. As you can see,the moves in wushu can also be used in self defense, that is if you done it correctly. It can be quite useful in fights. I myself is in wushu and i've learnt self defense in the lessons, and it sure is useful.

  • @Carlos9994 oh yeah that is true, but what i was getting at is that wushu skills in competition are for show. the fighting sets when they are tossed 8 feet in the air flip twice and land on their back is not going to work in a fight. wushu wil work in a fight all though most of it is for show, but i get where your coming from. ive been doing shaolin kung fu and wushu for almost 12 years now and most of the stuff i do wouldnt be the best techniques for a fight.

  • @EASkateKrew yeah...the falls are meant to be for performances...

  • @Carlos9994 You both have good idea's in this case but also in this case it also depends on the user/person but some people prefer Taekwondo over Muay Thai but that doesn't mean that Taekwondo is better. So you cant Wushu will be useless in self defense. I do learn Shaolin Kung Fu as well as Wushu (And yes i do know Wushu is in the same catagory of Kung Fu)

  • @Carlos9994 If you study "Modern Wushu", then study TRADITIONAL Wushu, you will see the difference in how the techniques are executed and sequenced! Like EASkateKrew was trying to explain to you it's for show. How was it created? By taking popular Traditional Martial Arts and taking the most flashy/athletic moves out of it to create a new form/taolu. So it may resemble Traditional Eagle Claw,Praying Mantis, Monkey boxing etc, but the new form makes no MARTIAL sense.

  • @jdub7771 true, i was in the traditional wushu.. I was just trying to tell people that wushu can be used in fights, not just for competitions. And i gotta agree that the modern wushu forms are not useful in fights due to the flips. So conclusion, modern wushu MIGHT be able to be used for a real fight if the space is big enough, since they've learnt some of the basic moves of wushu afterall. and traditional wushu is the one you should learn if you wanna learn how to fight. Thank you for that :D

  • @Carlos9994 completely agree with you. wushu perfects the coordination and speed of a person making them the quickest and most physically adept fighter. also, anyone with enough muscle in their leg to launch themselves 7-8 feet up in the air or take a fall from that height definitely has enough strength and knowledge of impact to fight

  • @mel956 thats very true, in wushu, we don't only learn bout the fighting movements. The most important thing is that we learned how to discipline ourselves through wushu. It's the art that we are learning.. And there's the flexibility in wushu that we learnt, which are not the same with other rough martial arts which relies mostly on brute force :D (im not saying bad bout other martial arts though, don't be offended :D)

  • @EASkateKrew it still conditions ur body which would help in a fight

  • @EASkateKrew wrong! wushu means martial/military art. Kung fu means the time spent on something to master it.

  • @EASkateKrew Contemporary Wushu is not purely shaolin. Changquan has its roots in Northern Shaolin but it is a compilation of many northern styles (same for Nanquan but with southern Shaolin and southern styles like Hong Jia).

  • @EASkateKrew Unless you take in the fact that "wushu" is chinese for "martial art" and "kung fu" translates to something like "hard work" or a skill attained through hard work. You're assuming that the sport wushu is the only thing that the name "wushu" is applied to.

  • Wushu basically means Chinese Martial Arts. Wushu consists of two components; Taolu which are the forms and choreographed fights such the one in this video; and Sanshou (or Sanda) which is is sparring and competition fighting, an example of a Sanshou fighter is Hai long. Formed in 1949 aimed at nationalizing Chinese martial arts. Forms were originally intended to preserve the lineage of a particular style branch. In modern times, choreographed fights have been developed to increase popularity.

  • @EASkateKrew I've been doing Wushu for 9 years now, and I completely agree with what you just said although you CAN defend yourself with Wushu. With that I mean you're not completely helpless in case of selfdefense although there are better ways to defend yourself.

  • @CardChanger Yes that is what I was trying to get at, thank you for clarifying :)

  • @EASkateKrew sigh- i don't even know why people even thumb you up, let me clear it for you, smart one. Wushu -> Art of WAR not art of entertainment.

  • @Kniitte I have been training in shaolin kung fu and wushu for 12 years continuously, my comment was very true as was yours. I didn't mean wushu would not help in self defense but you also must agree that wushu is mostly for entertainment of others thats is why it is most popular in competitions. i have trained with Shi Yan Ming and Hu Jianqiang on numerous accounts as well as testing for 3 of my black belts with Grand Master Hu and he is one of the greatest in the wushu field. I'm not stupid

  • @EASkateKrew If you look wushu can be used for self defense... It's just we aren't taught the applications. Wushu is chinese military training

  • WUSHU IS FOR SELF DEFENSE

  • some fighting styles are superior but it depends on the student or the teacher

  • Amazing

  • That was immense!!!!

  • Absolutly awsome. These guys just make the rest of the world look like beginners. Watch and learn world this is how it's done. Fact!

  • all of that is wushu...... right?

I tell you, nothing can even touch Wushu!

  • sovereign126 no one cares what you have to say so fuck off and odnt even watch it bastard

  • very poor video editing, but the choreographed fights never cease to amaze me.

  • omg dont mess with that guys u wont survive if they have real knife or samurai sword

  • @smackdown1233

That is Chinese Gongfu, samurais are Japanese and their swords aren't useful for Wushu Practitioners, however Chinese Dao is quite similar weapon to Japanaese Katana, still it's better for them to use Chinese weapons.

  • whats the name of the song please ?

  • singing and made from a young Taiwaness signer--Jay Chou

    Huo Yuan Jia

  • and these guys are fitter and more agile than wwe people

  • it's by Jay Chou: Fearless

  • What's the title of this soundtrack??

I have to download for a wushu exhibition^^

  • Comment removed

  • Beastly.

  • In reference to gleneth00, you are do great editing. You simply need more experience and way much, much more critiques like him.

At first, I thought we're just watching the introductions to all the acts, but wow was i wrong.

It's possible that not all of the rhythm of the song was transmitted tot he editing of the video. But, we're not here to learn how to edit videos now are we?

Wushu is just a beautiful art form of actually Chinese martial arts. Just like Kendo of Kenjutsu. I like it.

  • @Burritoast: You have no knowledge of video editing basics. You are a moron, do you know that? How about you go learn something about video editing before you come online to speak your "intelligence."

What's with people nowadays, they keep bullshitting things they know nothing about!

Can't believe you even negate my comment just because you are too stupid to agree with me. You can negate my comment when I start to flame the shit out of you, bitch; but not when I am appraising someone.

  • @ytacc0 Good show. That guy needs to stop living in his own little self-centered world.

  • @ytacc0 Maybe a bit too hard? Every body has to make some practice before being good at doing something, don't you think?

  • lol this video wasn't made for the editing.. ..you missed the whole point -_-

  • @Burritoast Now what does this comment have to do with the amazing video i just watched?! My saying is that your are the poser writing irrelevant comments. ROFL @ u loser

  • In the classic wushu days the single person always won over the two attackers. Not sure I like the new approach to winning and losing, but I love the acrobatics. Those athletes are insane!

  • wats dis song called?

    -- its so familiar...

  • jay chou- fearless or huo yuan jia

  • wow, i never thought i'd get a reply... tnx..:-)

  • wow.. i've been doing wushu for two years since primary 3 and i've never seen anything like those! Wish i could do them. And 4:11 was GREAT!!!

  • yeah well you be this hardcore you have to go to china and attend their wushu academy, the training offered normal wushu clubs are nothing compared the training these wushu academy offer, it's like a martial arts boot camp

  • Hahaha wow... amazing... my friend came in second in the world for wushu; shes incredible. absolutely incredible.

  • I'm 14 year old, doing Wushu for a year now, no offence but a Wushu champion is may be better than a person without any kind of martial arts, but a Wushu champion is almost useless against any other martial art.

  • really? how so?

  • Because he's learning the pansy shit stuff that's mostly for show, of course. What else do you expect from a one-year learner?

  • Lol, anyone with half a brain and a mind for self-preservation can just as easily turn the "pansy shit stuff" into a lethal combo worthy of even YOUR praise.

  • Tell turkeystick that

  • He's 14, really think he's gonna listen? :P

  • Not really, no.

  • what a dumbass, only learnt one year of wushu and thinks they're an expert in judging the martial arts. dude i've been doing wushu since i was 6 years old, and i'm 19 now, i can tell you there's more to wushu then just the showy stuff, they first teach you the showy stuff as basic training for speed, accuracy and flexibility. They also teach you the proper fighting aspects later on, it's called Sanda, and i can tell you that there are quite a few fighters in the UFC that are trained in Sanda.

  • well i guess u havent really met the real wushu champion yet and also not well understand all this.. u better check out properly

  • That's entirely up to how and what you practice within wushu. A person that trains taolu will not have a big chance of beating a martial artist that practices actual fighting, i.e kickboxing, muay thai etc. But a person training sanshou has an equal chance at "winning".

  • yes that is true, wushu has many aspects, duilian is is for show only, but most wushu practicioners practise both the forms and the sanda aspect of wushu.

  • =o holy damn

  • I LOVE IT

  • I disagree, no one fighting style is better than the other, it's all about the person's skill in that certain form of fighting. A streetfighter could defeat a martial artist if he/ she is good enough, and vice versa.

  • but, street fighting is no skills =.=...its only about if ur built or not...thats street fighting

  • Not necessarily, street fighting is an art to tell the truth, just as much so as Jeet-Kune Do or the Drunken fist.

Most people look down at street fighting as just brawling, because they think the way 'gangsters' fight is street fighting.

My grandfather is 60 years old, weighs a hundred pounds, and can take down a 30 year old man, that weighs 200+ pounds. And he has been a street fighter since he was a kid.

  • my dad does jeet-kune-do , boxing and taek-won-do

I do nothing...but my dad says he can teach me what he knows.

  • But I am in no way advocating an argument. (( just a clarification, I think internet arguments are pointless ))

    :D

  • yea...lol and nerds/geeks call it a ''flame war'' lol...(uh..me neither, you thought i did? lol sorry)

  • @GYAAAAHH True, but then if that street fighter went and took a martial art he/she could become even better, martial arts augment a person's fighting skill

  • Hey man, Jet Li does Wushu. I don't know Sambo but BJJ is only good for 1 vs 1. In a real street fight, BJJ is useless.

  • =D coooool

  • OHHH SHIIIT!!!!

  • wow imagine fighting these guys! I mean i know its choreographed but i bet they still fight very very well and could take on a lot of people.

  • WUSHU IS POWER

  • Beautiful.

  • how can other countries compete? how about by training. Besides, there are plenty of wushu schools outside of China. PLUS, there are plenty of olympic events that have a very limited number of countries in them because not every country can afford to have that large of a team. So why don't we just mandate team size?

Basically, if it becomes an olympic sport, countries will compete, even if it does take a few olympics to make teams worthy of teams that practiced wush prior to the olympics.

  • Good making of this video especially when the huo huo huo you made it look very good

  • overedited pretty badly

  • whats the song?

  • the songs name is huo yan jia by jay chou from the fearless soundtrack

  • o thanx, i saw fearless, cant say i remember this song though

  • Its choreographed fighting, so they can fight the real way with weapons while not killing each other

  • this is deadly

  • The black vs white fight is pure awesomeness ;] Is this kung-fu or something? oO

Btw: How can they fall like that?! On their...

  • Yeah, high skill kung fu.

Or wushu (the correct name of this style).

  • Pure awesomeness, best videos ever shot.

  • wow... these guys can fly =O

  • Frog-style at 1:08?

  • hehe, i think that's just the way they are taught to fall, but it'd be cool if they used some frog style :p

  • HUO HUO HUO HUO HUO HUO HUO-HUO!

  • Woah, amazing. Loved the duel swords and the break falls.

  • Th1Z 1Z C0oLL2@@21111!!!

  • what,s the mane of song?
