  • On the ineligible man downfield penalty, the referee doesn't give a number but it was probably on the player split out to the left hashmark. He should be well off the line of scrimmage ( he's not). Since there is another player outside of him on the line of scrimmage, this makes him the same as an interior lineman (ineligible) regardless of what number he wears. He was more than 5 yards downfield so it's a penalty. Also should have been illegal motion on top receiver moving up so close to snap.

  • Basically, people need to LEARN THE RULES before you think you know enough to criticize the officials. I knew what happened as soon as I saw them snap the ball on the FIRST replay the night of the game! These announcers are stupid for not seeing it. Do they really think the penalty was on any of the linemen that were blocking? They don't even know what constitutes the "backfield" and the "line of scrimmage"

  • if u look closely at the Usc TD, It is clearly not a catch! The Ball clearly touches the ground when he caught it! Pause at 1:10

  • @EliteFours who cares quit whining you fuckin fag

  • wow, that last call, just...wow.

  • correct me if i'm wrong:

i was under the impression that 'roughing the passer' is when the qb has released the ball, and the defender, who has time to 'not hit the qb', but still continues to put him on the ground. if the usc guy just bumps into him without knocking him down, no pentalty. i agree with that call. he didnt rough him, but it wasnt needed.

its obvious that the 'td' actually WASNT a td.

the 'guy downfield' was downfield well after the pass. linemen or not, it was after the pass.

  • its sorta like that but it is when u continue to dip boom or drill the qb.. like if i was running and i was like 5 yards away from u and u threw the ball i bumped u thats not it but if i came flying in and picked u up and slamed u in the ground after the ball was relized i was ganna get called tho

  • that USC catch in the end zone pissed me off so much when i saw cause u can see in the replay he didnt catch and the announcers say nothing

  • Oh c'mon what do you expect? It's fucking USC, on NATIONAL TV and you think their going to lose?????

  • pac-10 refs...

  • cushing call = bs

    touchdown = bs

illegal man downfield = bs ... the slot receiver was on the 28 ... the los was the 27 ... thus he was NOT on the los and was elligible

  • cushing call woulsnt have been made if he hadnt touched the guy after the ball was released. you know the qb is gonna be pampered with those calls.

touchdown was bs. the ball wasnt caught and it hit the ground.

illegal man downfield???? omfg!! horrible bs call. da linemen stayed in their spots before the ball was released

  • Technically the correct call was made for the hit by Cushing. It was after the ball had been thrown clearly, but hardly any "roughing" in his hit. Don't know if i could make that call

PT's TD, I don't know if i could've made that call to see it was an incomplete pass either.

Last call was correct, both recievers at the top of the screen were on the LOS, meaning the No.2 WR is ineligible... he can't go out for a route or upfield, essentially like a lineman. He was 30 yds downfield, so yeah.

  • cal scored and im a sc fan that was a bullshit call

  • The roughing the passer call was "so-so". I've seen less physical hits been called for roughing, but that certainly wasn't malicious. He pushed him. The ineligible receiver call was correct, just a stupid error by Ross. The Turner TD was so obvious that he dropped it. I saw it on the first replay that was full speed, just a blatant drop.

  • Roughing the passer was correct the ball was way out of Longshore's hand when Cushing pushed him. The Turner touchdown should not have stood. The illegal man down the field was correct in the call though because of ross not being covered up.

  • roughing the passer call was questionable

"touchdown" call should have been reviewed. definitely not a catch

as painful as it is for me to say this, illegal man downfield call was correct. trojans secondary still got burned, though

    go bears

  • There was no illegal man downfield. Horrible call. Roughing call was weak. Touchdown probably should have been called incomplete, but that's a tough call.

  • there were 8 on the line of scrimmage.

  • Comment removed

  • pac-10 refs suck. so painful to watch sometimes. even when it helps Cal (my team) its just plain disappointing. why cant we get some good officials for baketball AND football? seems like every other major conf. has decent refs. Go Bears!

  • remember that basketball game between cal and ucla last year? remember that uw- byu game earlier this year? remember how the refs tried to review every single EASY call in the AZ-cal game this year trying to convince them that cal DIDN't score? these refs are a fucking joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HAAYYYYY!!!

  • 1. Good call on the roughing the passer. The defender made an extra effort to shove the QB.

    2. Replay should have corrected the play. No fault by the back judge as this is a tough call to make on the field.

    3. Regardless if the slot receiver was on or the line there should have been a flag for illegal shift. The outside receiver was moving forward while the one player was in motion. Both players must set for 1 second before the snap. It's possible the referee just announced it wrong

  • 3. Both receivers on the left initially lined up 2 yards offside.

They both stepped back, but the inside receiver lined up on the line making himself the ineligible downfield when he ran down the left hash.

Right before the play the outside was waving at him to get back, but he couldn't see him because he was looking in at the ball.

    The correct call was made.

  • color commentator was clueless on the illegal downfield call on the TD. he concentrated only on the oline. one of the cal wrs knew that they were lined up wrong.

  • on cals td called back ...they reviewed it later ...both Wr on left are on the line....making one like a lineman and not elligable ....he runs downfield ..inelligable wr downfields the call..it was away from the play and a error KAl made lining up ...still a great call ...the other 2 were bad..USC td catch looked legit at game speed..Cal should of reviewed it ..SC ran the kick team on ..so there you go

  • look at it again. it's clear at the 1:41 mark. The LOS is the 32 and ross is just behind the 33. Boateng realizes the error and steps forward to the LOS just before the snap to make Ross eligible but I guess a little over a yard back isn't enough. what drew the flag was the two of them having an animated argument right before the snap. Its a ticky tack penalty completely away from the play but not an awful call. SC had some bad ones go against em too.

    Pac10 refs, equal opportunity suck

  • @oskigodumb LOS at the 32? NO
