I'm not sure how to react to this. There's some kind of strange thing where if it's capable of dsiplaying emotions you feel bad it's in pain/simulated pain. My brain keeps telling me it's a machine and that doing stuff like that isn't actually hurting it, but the fact that it has the ability to display emotions sorta tugs at the heart strings.
I'm really confused why everyone finds this so horrifying. I own a dog and I love her to pieces, I am a real animal lover and can't stand to see any animal abused. But this? It's just a robot. I'm sorry, but it just is. I can't see how you are all equating this to a real animal being abused. That animal is a real living, breathing thing with its own thoughts and feelings. This is just mechanics. A toy. No matter how lifelike, it's not alive, so stop overreacting. Seriously. Just a robot.

The robot isn't actually broken. You can restart or reboot the thing after he "dies" and he forgets the whole thing and he'll be happy again if you cuddle it. So they didn't waste their money; also, I think they got the thing for free in exchange for reviewing it. Also I think it's a good idea to test out how much abuse a toy can take and what the reactions are so that people who own it or are thinking about buying have a gauge for what they can do or want to do.

The robot isn't actually broken. You can restart or reboot the thing after he "dies" and he forgets the whole thing and he'll be happy again if you cuddle it. So they didn't waste their money; also, I think they got the thing for free in exchange for reviewing it. Also I think it's a good idea to test out how much abuse a toy can take and what the reactions are so that people who own it or are thinking about buying have a gauge for what they can do or want to do.
