I know when I've visited a few people in hospital they sometime have on the overhead TV sets over the beds an information channel that mostly displays textual information, I suppose they would use a character generator like this one to display that information.

Since it has the Amiga 3.1 KickStart ROM, I'm sure it would run an unmodified copy of AmigaOS 3.x if you got a boot disk or CD-ROM -- although it wouldn't be too useful without a mouse.
Commodore went out of business in 1994, but the rights to the Amiga hardware and software line have been bought and sold several times since then, including Gateway in the late '90s, who announced plans about incorporating some Amiga technology into their PCs, but then did nothing with it.

Fri May 7th is 2010. The other dates match up with 2010 too. May 7th of this year might have been its last day before they upgraded. Pretty cool.
