LYNCHMASTER RULES! Easily in the TOP 3 OF ALL TIME: EVH (Van Halen), JMH (James Marshall Hendrix), and Mr. LYNCH (aka Mr. Scary)!!!!! In other words, we're talkin' about one seriously seasoned fuckin' PRO HERE! Hats OFF to you Mr. LYNCH!!!! You ARE the GOODS!!!!
@forgottenleaves ....OH YEA! Lynch only gets better with age....Just because he isn't on mainstream radio any longer like everyone else...doesnt mean he doesn't or still can't play. He RULES people....
I was told in another video by someone that he is a one-dimensional simplistic guitarist... What are your thoughts about that? I think he has a lot of idea's to bring to the table from listening to him, but what do I know...
@danewson <-- First, put the meth pipe down. Next, open and use a box of Q-Tips. Then, if you possibly could, go dig up something remotely interesting that Poser Collen can play for 5:31 without Vivian Campbell holding him up. (For the record I love Def) Vivian was a gentleman and took a polite back seat for a steady gig. We all know that if someone were to let Vivian off of his leash, Phil would retire. As for Mr Lynch, he doesn't need my help his hands do all the talking.
@devax1986 Yngwie Malmsteen's style is boring because it is all technique and no soul, if you like more guitar playing with emotion, check out Jason Becker or Andy Timmons or Joe Bonamassa, Andy and Joe have strong blues styles and Jason is more of an 80's style sound but they are all incredible
If wasnt for all the guitar heros that have come and gone. What fuck would these young punk ass kids and old fucks who make videos on youtube do!!!! All the youtube players are just copying somthing has been done buy guys like Lynch & EVH, Randy. To all the copy cats out there you become great guitar Players off the backs of the originals.....Go create somthing of your own and stop copying other peoples shit. Anyone can learn a song done by somone else.
@devax1 Thanks man, I'm not disrespecting any of todays's players that are newer. It's just I was a teen in the 80's and learned from 1984 onward in what I consider the "Golden Age" of shredders. 1978-1991. From When Van Halen I debuted to when the "Grunge" scene came in 1991 with Nirvana and Pearl Jam and dumbed it all down. Not to say they didn't write some good music. But most of the Grunge bands guitar players were for total shit in terms of technique. More of songwriters than players.
@guitarthroat SoundGarden and AIC are the only Grunge bands and COC if you consider that grunge, Nirvana and butthole surfers and Mudhoney sucked.and btw Check out Satchel from Steel panther he's a shredder, I know their comedy rock but their still good
@Metalborn69 ??? Not into labels man. But the bands I mentioned were part of the "Grunge Scene". You are entitled to your opinion. But that's all it is.
@guitarthroat I don't Understand your comment bro, I mentioned the only bands that came out in that grunge era that i liked who got labeled as grunge because they wore flannel even though they were more metal, and what opinion are you making a reference to I just simply said check out a guitarist by the name of satchel from steel panther
@devax1986 I am really surprised he hasn't played G3. I have gotten to meet him and jam twice. People on here comment that he can't play like he did in 1990 on the REH instructional video he did. Total bullshit. I actually asked him to do some of the toughest licks on there and he did just like back in the old days. I just think he is into different stuff these days. So fuck anybody that talks shit about his technique. I actually saw him do most of it in person. Grow up.
@guitarthroat If you like 80's rock as I do, check out Ethan Brosh if you haven't. He is a younger guy, but he emulates the 80's soloing more I think. Check out The Hit man!
@devax1986 If Like the sound of 80s rock Check out "Big Cock", i know weird name, but their fronted by Robert mason who was on the second Lynch Mob album and If they don't do it for ya check out "Crazy Lixx" Check out bad motherfucker by "Big Cock" and rock and a hard place by "Crazy Lixx". Great tunes
@1976Stratomaster I'm not impressed in the least with today's guitarists. During the 80's, most of today's guitarists would be average at the very most. Paul Gilbert, Yngwie, Van Halen, Al DiMeola, Warren Di Martini, Steve Vai, Satch, Vinnie Moore, Frank Gambale are just to name a few. Nobody today even approaches those guys. Popular doesn't mean good.
@1976Stratomaster Oh...and let's not forget Allan Holdsworth. Nobody can fucking touch him. Even Yngwie and Eddie Van Halen were like: "What the fuck"?
@1976Stratomaster There are so many better guitarists out there that guitarthroat described I think you need to re-asses your statement. Name one young guitarist that is so much better than them and by young I mean 20's. These men have crafted their styles for 30+ years..
@devax1986 And I appreciate you saying to look around. Nothing wrong with that. But like I said, I can't find many current players that can even touch the players I mentioned. The game has changed in that respect in terms of skill. The 80's were crazy as far as technical players. It was like the old west with gunslingers. Everybody was trying to out do the other guy with arpeggios and sweeps and modes.
LOL very cool, although a little more reverb and delay would have made it sound more epic (not to say drowning in effects though, like that old Japanese instructional vid he did in the 80's. lol).
I saw Dokken as a supportact from Accept !Never saw a supportact they blow the mainact away like Dokken. The band was great and George played like a guitarplayer from a diferent galaxie!!
Thats why he sounds so fucking awesome, the dude is pure fucking LEGEND. And people still dont realize it. I swear the guy is getting younger, keep shredding George, sounds fucking brutally awesome, so much soul, I hope you play forever, you truly show what passion and dedication in music are all about, never compromised for no one and is too damn old to start now.
He's underrated and that's wrong, George is a sick player ! He's playing is so personal and unique that even Steel Panther says that Lynch is the Boss !
Can't help but smile at some the comments here regarding George's playing, there is nothing wrong with his playing here, besides, i don't think george would really give a fuck what people think, He's sold millions of albums with Dokken, He was the first E.S.P, endorsee to have a signature guitar built, practically putting ESP guitars on the map, and George is nothing but respected by his peers, satriani, vai, gilbert, ALL are great players, they just have different flavours...peace!
@TheKamikazie1974 You said it all bro, George Lynch still George Lynch and if some loosers around just criticize him I say "they could not compose or play a fucking thing even closer than this guy even if George had drinked 30 beers and smoke 10 joints"
You fucking people think he's worst. All you fucking people are wrong. Today he sounds like his 80's playing took a lot of tone, and musical steroids. He's 2,000 times better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@kingdiamond69 Well, I'm musician with nearly 100% influence by Steve Lukather so I come from a totaly other direction but I would partly agree with you and partly with d811... his tune from the '80s sounded better (to me... as I said I would use a totaly other tune) but the technique here is better then in the '80s
@kingdiamond69 That very well could be true. After hearing this mess..I may very well be permanently scarred. I especially love the video of him "playing" with Paul Gilbert and Richie Kotzen. Talk about totally beneath the other two!!!!!!
@ducky811 Different players with different styles and tones i might buy the gilbert over lynch argument but kotzen not a chance mr scary still blew me away live and i saw him on the tooth and nail tour in 84 if anything hes gotten better to me but each player hears different likes and dislikes ya know?.
Great maturity in his playing. He still has the "lynch" quality to his playing, but his sense of direction is finer, sweeter than times past. Great phrasing!
To the person who clicked on our pic and clicked on our vid lookin for George Lynch and then you sayin' "Lynch aint even in our vid"
no one said Lynch was in any of our vids, dont know how some people see shet that aint there [printed] then mark our post spam. our comment said what a great wicked player Lynch was n' is... [we dont know Lynch, never said we did... n' he don't know us]
.. We just said LYNCH is the best player around - ..;p
This is extremely emotional solo, very, very moving. Is George (being Native American himself) crying here over those who died in Wounded Knee Massacre on December 29, 1890, and all other Native Peoples allover the world who're victims of white civilization?
no one plays like this dude no one. He is so under rated its disgusting. not only shreds but can shred with so much feeling to it, like the guitar is singing like some sick lusting whore getting fucking by 6 cocks at once.
@sniffy45 George Lynch is not "under rated". What the hell is with you people and saying this person is under rated, that person is under rated.. Music is not a contest, and you 14 year old need to stop comparing people as.. "this person is better than that person" etc.
There is no better really, only different.. unless someone just can't play and articulate the music properly..
Anyway George Lynch is one of the most famous metal guitar players he is not "under rated".
@JoeyRec I have to agree, he is one of the highest rated guitar players coming out of the 80's. Anybody saying George Lynch is underated doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. I don't think he is as good as he used to be a few decades ago (just my opinion), but he is still bad ass. If george lynch wasn't in Dokken, I doubt they would have never amounted to much. It was George that made that group stand out.
We all seem to be critics on youtube..who is the best..to each his own..Lynch is one of the worlds most talented guitarists..other people prefer other great talents..all fine.It is all about music Not to have a war on here about who is the best.
His playing style is just unique and that's very rare nowadays. Sad thing is, that especially guys like him are underrated as hell, while guys like Kirk Hammett (I'm not hating, I'm a Metallica fan myself and I like Kirk's playing style as well) get way too much credit. I think the problem is, that there are too many newbies out there, who give tons of credit to guitar players, because they're fast. And speed is the most overrated thing ever...
No doubt a phoenom of a talent........leaves a little to be desired in terms of grace and gratitude......some nerve he had stating that shadowlife wouldve been the perfect end to dokken......who the hell is he to end anything that group was and still is the some of 4 peoples talents. and talkin smacl about a mans dead relative to make a point os just low' it should be about music plain and simple....great solo though
NOT to be a hater since lynch's composition is absolutely uncanny but his technique and playing is sloppy at times. he does hit all the notes with as much clarity as he could. paul gilbert and and shawn lane are far cleaner but probably don't incorporate as much emotion i guess.
You talk about maturing as a guitarist ! WOW. I was expecting Furious George all over the neck again with the kamikazee tryin to be cool at 57 back for the attack yah yah ... .. This take probably melted the faces off of anybody within earshot in that studio because it had authority and tone WITHOUT a million note run up the board ! Nice George ! Im wiping up the drool on my desk !
Ever since George has been Musclebound he has lost his dexterity. Seems profound I know. But also in the age factor his fingers seem less nimble. Not as much fire to his solos. But that is expected? However George retains his originality which sets him above just about anyone else. His trademark is in everything his Originality, so he hasnt really lost anything but Time to the decay of the process to wow his listeners. No matter what he will rule the guitar scene of what we expect to hear!
@Charvel2Fender u saying george started to work out? i noticed he got bigger but i didnt know he was like a meathead, i heard he did take martial arts tho
He has this 'slippery' quality to his playing that I have always dug. Like a fine wine, George Lynch get better with age... and he rocked along time ago!
@neurocosm :) didn't know what to call it, slippery seemed to fit. You can say legato, but he has a more fluid feel to his playing. ie. the solo in Dream Warriors...
@Jamcad01 no one is shit except for the one who say other is shit like You! They Both Rock All rock Everybody have different taste in music, but do not criticize by giving your own nonsense comment

JoeyRec 3 weeks ago
@JoeyRec By your logic Slash can be better guitarist than John Petrucci? There is a difference between subjective perception and reality.
devax1986 3 weeks ago
@devax1986 Or you can also check out Danny Masters album Electric Babylon its a pretty good album
Metalborn69 3 weeks ago
@JoeyRec I have to agree, he is one of the highest rated guitar players coming out of the 80's. Anybody saying George Lynch is underated doesn't know what the hell they are talking about. I don't think he is as good as he used to be a few decades ago (just my opinion), but he is still bad ass. If george lynch wasn't in Dokken, I doubt they would have never amounted to much. It was George that made that group stand out.

He shoulda played with Ozzy lol he coulda been Ozzy's new guitarist... that woulda been interesting.

Pay attention only to the right hand. I've never seen so many technical resources applied to the right hand in the same song.

NOT to be a hater since lynch's composition is absolutely uncanny but his technique and playing is sloppy at times. he does hit all the notes with as much clarity as he could. paul gilbert and and shawn lane are far cleaner but probably don't incorporate as much emotion i guess.
ironmaidenowns 2 months ago
@ironmaidenowns doesn't hit all the notes*
ironmaidenowns 2 months ago
@ironmaidenowns - Jimi's technique was sloppy at times as well. Does he therefore deserve the same criticism?

You can feel the soul in the music, and you can see it in his face. Probably my favorite guitarist ever.
Shredbringer 2 months ago
You talk about maturing as a guitarist ! WOW. I was expecting Furious George all over the neck again with the kamikazee tryin to be cool at 57 back for the attack yah yah ... .. This take probably melted the faces off of anybody within earshot in that studio because it had authority and tone WITHOUT a million note run up the board ! Nice George ! Im wiping up the drool on my desk !
keithyj11 2 months ago in playlist Favorite videos
Ever since George has been Musclebound he has lost his dexterity. Seems profound I know. But also in the age factor his fingers seem less nimble. Not as much fire to his solos. But that is expected? However George retains his originality which sets him above just about anyone else. His trademark is in everything his Originality, so he hasnt really lost anything but Time to the decay of the process to wow his listeners. No matter what he will rule the guitar scene of what we expect to hear!

He has this 'slippery' quality to his playing that I have always dug. Like a fine wine, George Lynch get better with age... and he rocked along time ago!
ibizaflu 2 months ago 24
@ibizaflu - I Was trying to think of how to describe the technique, and you got it. SLIPPERY.
neurocosm 2 months ago
@neurocosm :) didn't know what to call it, slippery seemed to fit. You can say legato, but he has a more fluid feel to his playing. ie. the solo in Dream Warriors...
