I read your post before I watched it happen in the video. I thought that they couldn't mess up her Adeat that much. But they did. They so did. Nodoka's mind reading ability is what makes her important, without it she would be useless in combat (although she's still my favorite character in the manga and anime). I love Negima but if they screwed up this, I don't want to see how badly they screw up elsewhere. Maybe if morbid curiosity takes me one day, I'll watch the rest of the live action show

their fk up of this is not just a matter of budget either...its just the producers and directors just took the bare bones of negima and did what generic crap they always did IN THE GUISE OF NEGIMA. they had the money, resources and cast...all it would take was a LITTLE faith/research of the original and some actual love for making this thing. and it would have been a worthy series. not the best mind, but at least noteworthy of being called part of a growing franchise

This probably just a quick cash in. They could have tried maybe just a tad harder, but mosly likely didn't have the budget. What I didn't like is how they basically retold the same plots we already saw in the Manga and Anime. They should have at least used new plot ideas.

I have heard this as well. When I first heard of the LA version of Negima I was looking forward to it but was hugely disappointed when I saw this. Some of the effects like this pactio scene are pretty good, but its ruined by story discrepencies, bad acting (have you seen chachamaru, she looks like shit) and don't even get me started on the Chamo postcard thing.
