One of the top ten albums of all time, wore it out decade after decade, in every format ; )....grown especially fond of the acoustic stuff as I've grown older ; )..... thanks for posting ..nobody does it like Ian.
@marcellospivey Well, Bob Dylan, for one. John Lennon could do it in his prime. I think IA is referring to a tobacco-addicted girlfriend; smoking fiends typically have yellowish fingertips from nicotine stains.
I'm so glad my parents showed me these guys, they are amazing, Tull is deff a top 5 band in history....none of my friends like Tull, I feel like the only 16 year old that loves Tull, I have for years now
A Wimpy Bar was the English equivalent of a McDonalds. Atrocious hamburgers with onions...haven't been in England since '66...not sure if they still have them. If not, immortalized forever in this song !!
@samwisegamgeese You certainly don't accept substandard music my British friend...Best music of all comes from north of the Isle of Wight. Loved my 3 years there...used to see all the greats on Top of the Pops, Ready Steady Go, and Thank Your Lucky Stars...Saw Tull in Honolulu right after Thick as a Brick came out...I have never been the same since...what a group of musicians (and I mean musicians: not 3 chord wonders whose names I won't bore you with).
@TheSupnickmon Try "Songs From the Wood" or "Minsterl in the Gallery" You may have a different opinion I like them just as well and- Songs from the wood- even better. Just give them a chance and tell me what you think. Of course there are others but. those are starters. PEACE!
JT ... a uniquely talented band(s) that I enjoyed mostly from 1968 to 1975; "my" era that I relish while living in the past. Thanks for the song here!
It was October/November. I remember them doing Thick as a Brick in it's entirety. It was a fantastic show. my second concert. We were sitting just off the floor on the left (looking at the stage )sixth section. Funny what your mind remembers ! I've made sure to keep seeing them when they're in the area.
Fucking awesome!!

How in hell did Ian Anderson manage to conjure up such vivid images with music? This dude was an artist; plain and simple.

@andrewboulay2000
don't worry-there are others (like me)
Its just that because of the more "modern" music, and low publicity for Tull (in Australia at least), no one knows about them

I saw them twice. Once at Red Rocks during the riot--1970. Then again in Denver in 1973. Crazy good rock AND roll.

Well I'm a common working man
with a half of bitter -- bread and jam
and if it pleases me I'll put one on you man --
when the copper fades away.
The rainy season comes to pass --
the day-glo pirate sinks at last --
and if I laughed a bit to fast.
Well it was up to me.

Make the scene at Cousin Jack's --
leave him put the bottles back --
mends his glasses that I cracked --
well that one's up to me.
