I don't consider the Quran beautiful at all. Like any religious text it is mythology wrapped in threats and promises and used by the powerful to control the weak minded.

Actually, there must be rather 6 layers if one counts space.
But doesn't the Quran says that these skies are palce one above the other in layers?
So, you have to exclude ionosphere and ozonosphere as they are included in other layers and not distinctly above them.
Consequently, the Moon and the Sun wouldn't be higher than exosphere.
