Actually, the Oaks and the Keystone (gospel) Quartet were two different groups. The quartet would "graduate" to the Oaks when there was a vacancy. My mom and I saw the quartet back in the early 70s when Joe was still singing with them and Richard had just moved on to the Oaks. I had never heard of either group before but a few years later saw The Oak Ridge Boys on national TV and recognized Joe. Have been a fan ever since. My mom and I went to see them again a few years ago. Still wonderful.

Um, Richard went to the Stamps for a few years from the Keystone Quartet prior to going to the Oaks. Joe, on the other hand joined the Oaks a year after Richard straight from the Keystones. Garland Craft joined as piano player a couple of years (app.) later.
