  • ahahahahaha

  • This is too real to be funny.

  • What day is it today?

  • incredible, just fantastic, great job :)

  • Made in 2001 but in 2011 has even more relevance!

  • Elsker at når du kopierte den, tok du med notisen om opphavsrett :p

  • hehe

    dette er morsomt

  • My Teacher told us about that omg that is so ..... Loosing words haahaa

  • I - I - I'm still having problems. Yesterday I opened this 'book' and all the words were upside down! And - how do you "roll fast forward"? On my scroll I just roll it out on the floor. This 'book' thingumy is >>way<< too complicated - it'll never catch on.

  • Rofl XD I remember when my dad sent me this link. We both laughed so hard.

  • You can invert the colors in the video if you hit F13 =D

  • I think this is a parody of people afraid of technology and using COMPUTERS

  • to SHUTDOWN select START...

  • Helpdesk shuld have taught him how to leave a bookmark so he could easily find back to the page he was reading before closing.

  • @MissMael The bookmarks will come in version 2.0

  • Shame about the size of the subtitles. Or am I a Medieval without a Helpdesk?

  • I'd like a cup of hot water!

  • Very funny, shame about the spelling mistake though :)

  • @goldcoastdeb What do you expect when people confuse "loose" for "lose"?

  • @untmdsprt Yes, I don't get how that is even possible, but I see it so often :(

  • @goldcoastdeb English is such a difficult language for people, and most can't be bothered to learn how to use an English-English dictionary properly.

  • My science teacher showed us this in school so we would know how to use our science books.

  • Mmmm have you tried to restart your book sir???

  • I heard this from an IT guy the other day: "There is a problem between the keyboard and the chair."

  • @fidomusic Nice one. Bit like "ah yes, looks like a PICNIC problem". (Problem in chair, not in computer).

  • absolutly priceless

  • Hilarious!!! Loved this.

  • "I can't open this beek thingy!"

  • That is what we're going to be like 20 years from now

  • Rick Riordan's right... damn you ebooks!

  • stackars norrmän, dom har det inte lätt xD Awesome sketch! tack!!!

  • As funny as this is....

I'm sure there were people back in the day who were like this with the first bound books...

  • IT, have you tried closing and opening it again?

  • @BlueShoesVP My condolences :-/

  • Cannot detect keyboard. Press F1 to continue...

  • This makes me sad because how accurate that really is. (Talking about my experiences helping my elderly grandmother with computer).

  • @WeissesSpatz Go grammy go!

  • medieval times are portayed with gross exaggerations that take fable for fact. That barbarism was ever the dominant idea running rampant is an illogical lie.

  • reminds me of me and my mother:P

  • Funny.

  • Hehe, this reminds me of trying to teach my Grandma to use a computer XD

  • Reminds me of a friend who took a help call from somebody who couldn't get his computer to turn on. She said, "Are you sure it's plugged in?" He said, "I can't tell, all the lights are out." :-)

  • Im so proud to be norweigan!

  • This is a good summary of how Norwegian is!! from beloved Sweden

  • @92Linderos Well, thanks for that mate -.-` :P

  • @NHLArks I said it with love. I have always wanted to be Norwegian much better than Sweden: D

  • As demonstrated here the transition from the scroll to the codex was difficult. And now there are electronic book readers, a combination of both formats. And so the advance of information formats continues.

  • Nooshk!

  • love this hahaha

  • Oh man, my husband had to call 911 because i nearly died of laughter, this is the funniest shit i've ever seen, god damn them norweigans, they are so damn funny i cant even describe how FUCKING funny these guys are. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHA

  • And how is this funny? Oh yeah, because some people actually find it funny. : )

  • Reminded me of an old school classmate i knew. & he wondered why he failed hi GCSE english.

  • Story of my life...

  • It's not funny to me. This is a lifestyle...

  • Hey! This is our university's IT department--the confused guy, I mean.

  • Hail the Empire!!!

Long live our past Culture, Race, Pride & Class.

  • Love it!

  • Muito bom esse vídeo...designers de informação vivem isso cotidianamente...muito bom!!!!

  • This deserves 2+ million hits. It is so perfect!! Is this swedish? norweigan? finnish? danish?

  • @lberelson It's norwegian :)

  • @lberelson Norwegian :)

  • Reminds me of complaining to Cabletel that we could no longer get onto the internet and them saying they'd send instructions in an email. D'oh!

  • who's here because the prof gave them the link?

  • Solution: make the handbook a scroll.

  • @inkstersco no shit

  • Eid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Eiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Reminds me of my customer service training, and having to tell someone how to take their shirt off, and put it back on, right side out. Frustrating as hell...

  • Absolutely brilliant. I have watched this so many times and it still makes me laugh.

  • Brilliant. Love the manual, hahaha!

  • Wow thats sad he doesnt know how to use a book! LOL its just funny to watch him fail

  • I swear to god, this is just like my english teacher! And why the hell is it top 20 results of 'the middle'??

  • lol i love where he goes "does it matter what side is up?" XD

  • the last bit reminds me of some instructions for connecting a monitor... that came on a disc.

  • Cypernguiden gillar detta:)

  • @taunterable

It's Norwegian actually. Oslo region dialect to be exact :)

  • @taunterable leave it to whatever you are to just arbitrarily assume that white people not speaking English are French.

  • It's just like trying to teach my parents how to use a computer!

  • @taunterable What?

  • @taunterable they're not french=P

  • something like that could have really happened!

  • Fucking books... How do they work??

  • I'm sorry to say that I once actually had to help someone with that problem, since the guy was home-schooled using computers.

  • @guidojacobs2002 Hey, don't be ditching homeschoolers. That guy would've been no better if he went to public school.

Of course, I may be a bit biased.

  • @GangsterJawa I'm not, this was a certain case in which books weren't used to teach. Homeschoolers have varied levels of education, depending on the parent. Some have extraordinary educations, some can't do algebra.

  • lmao! Just think about E-readers...!

  • that was so stupid.

  • "Huh, we never thought about that."

    XD

  • but if you think closer, some people are like that with computers 'but what if I click this?Nothing happens!'

  • OMG!!!!! This is the sad history of IT!!!! :(

  • Very funny but it also shows you how far we have come.

  • A medieval helpdesk for novice users ... :-)))

  • Brilliant!

  • @MaoiMeowi2 to bad u got no humor :/

  • I love this video!

  • This reminds me of when some of the more moronic elements at the middle school at which I sub don't know how to use an encyclopedia....

  • This is from Mr. McGowen at my school.

  • "Vil du ha en kopp varmt vann?"

("Would you like a cup of hot water?")

    Brilliant.

  • No, this is in the far future where iPads and its ilk has completely replaced books and papers. Whenever someone wants to access information from (already obsolete) books of the past, they would refer to this video.

  • I sometimes have the same trouble at work with those things called kompputars! ;) It's a comfort to know that Norwegians in the Middle Ages were also struggling with new technology!! ;)

  • what language do they speak?

  • @gergomo: Dutch?

  • @gergomo: D'oh! read the title: It's Norwegian!

  • Hysterical!! I just got finished doing something on the computer that SHOULD'VE taken 20 mins...but wound up taking FOUR hours because it was so user-UNfriendly. We found this for some comic-relief!!

  • Does anyone know how to fix my book? The text is all upside down. Even the title is the wrong way up! I wish I'd stuck with scrolls!

  • @Bathfire1 I'm afraid your book has no longer a warranty. Did you take the $99/year support contract? Otherwise i will not be able to help you.

  • just think.. maybe a thousand years from now, our future race could be making fun of us like this except with laptop computers. lol

  • Yeah I remember

    .

My company upgraded from Scroll OS 10.0 to Book 1.0 and there was a mini revolution. The workers were incensed and demanded we return to Scroll. Of course we eventually got the hang of it, but it was a rough century

    .

  • hahahahahaha

  • This is one of the video clips that was shown in my Reading Disabilities and Remediation class this week!

  • hahahaha nice one!

  • Those darn Medici always were making things confusing what with all those new fangled ideas!

  • Dette æ bra tv

  • Great video!

    :-D

  • Awesome comedy! :D

  • Awesome video. Great comedy and statement. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.

  • 2:10 is the best!

  • Så'n på TV nå nettopp.

  • and who said those Nowegians weren't a barrel of laffs. :=)

As a support folk, this is dead on

  • Hillarious!!!

  • The first ever call to technical support. Love this one!

  • Hilarious and entertaining for anyone who has ever had to provide technical support

  • :D lol

  • I can't believe this is so popular on YouTube. It's not even on of their better sketches...

  • Fullständigt underbar humor!

    /Svennen (Håkan)

  • OH. MY. GOD. This is like every conversation with my boss ever.

It would have been even funnier if the tech support dude had been like, some snotty, pimply little 17-year-old who smells like Mountain Dew and thinks he's an idiot for not getting it the first time around.

  • But you ARE an idiot if you don't know how to open a book and turn the pages.

  • @MaoiMeowi2 and you ARE an idiot if you don't understand humor

  • You think you're funny? You're not.

  • @MaoiMeowi2 , i know u think getting hitt by a football in the nuts is good humor, but this is REAL humor!

  • @imthewatchman Not really. Getting hit in the balls is never funny.

  • @jessimeden I don`t think so. In the middle age most people were analphabet. A 17 y.o. could not read. There were no school like today. The economy was subsistence.

  • Oh. We hadn't thought about that .. :))

  • These guys have obviously worked for tech support before; this was fantastic :)

  • Jaaa veeeel xD

  • what is wrong with you?

  • I adore this and watch it when I need a laugh. If I had a $ for everytime I walked through a "similar" scenario, I could have retired years ago. I'm not in IT anymore, nor on a HelpDesk, and this just makes me laugh at all those insane years

  • Hilarious, favorited!

  • must be an older version of Vista!

  • Monty Python feelings

    funny, clever and idiot HAHAHAHA

    5 stars.

  • Just to come up with such a brilliant idea is awesome in its own right, and the performance is simply great. laughing every time...

  • Knut Nærum has a histrionic wit.

  • Gokstad, the "desperate monk" has an aquiline proposcis.

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson

there' a comma fault in your comment

  • PERFECT 5 stars ROFLOL !!!!!!!!

  • hahaha...very clever skit.

  • OK, I retract my STFU. I thought you were simply the sort who dismissed it because it wasn't English. Sorry.

  • It must be the idioms they are using. It is a very inflected language.

  • As are most languages one haven't yet learned. Therefore, they added those nifty little subtitles. Oh wow. Now you don't need to learn this oblique, incomprehensible, arcane, inchoate unschematic language and can go on living in your american bubble.

  • @TheGoose91 Calm down, anonymous is just a random asshole troll looking for a response. Just ignore him.

  • Yeah, I know. I always fall too easily for flamebait.

  • @TheGoose91 Haha it's ok, opinionated people have a hard time dealing with the idiots on youtube boards.

  • Heh, indeed.

  • Very funny. I have seen this before on tele but seeing it again was brilliant! Thank you :)

  • you mean Nrk? Thath they copied the video?

  • I think you're missing the point.
