@tdubis70 The cheapest I know of is about $700 to be made by someone other than yourself. I can direct you to them if your interested. Other wise the cheapest I can think of is to make your own.
The parents don't think about the person...they don't think about the cost. They think about their child doing whatever their child wants as being cute. No respect for others and their property.

If you and your handler are both furries, just take turned being the suiter and handler. :3

Say no more! When I was in my suit at the Chelsfield Village Fayre, I had my tail pulled so hard it came right off! If that wasn't enough, it happened seven times and the last time round, I, quite frankly, lost my temper with the parent of that child.

I thought "You've got four fingers... I've got five fingers!" was adorable, but then after the "open your mouth" thing she got pretty annoying. Like other people here have said, though, she doesn't realize that you guys are more than just big stuffed animals come to life. Though her parents definitely should have done something.

When i suit irun into soo many of these encounters. There is always a child in red that wants to putt my hand off, rip the crap out of my tail and pull my muzzle. The sad thing is the parents just go sit down and leave them with me, a 15 year old suiter :/ i have a handler for the bigger meets because it gets wayy to many children doing the same things. Why didn't you just tell her NO. You're the adult and she's just a kid, I think the way the fox handled it kind of just encouraged her more, because she thought it was all a game. Fursuits are great for kids but it's not like its your professional job to entertain them by having them harass you.

I've being in a similar situation in my Kyuubi fursuit, except I was in the middle of my hometown. I was managing to make a lot of people smile then one kid came up to me and when I crouched down, pulled at the ears of my suit. I moved away to prevent the tearing but then the kid followed me and was pulling at my tails, nearing tearing one off. They were taken away by their parents who did apologise to me but you can't really blame anyone. They are merely curious.
You can't apply the actions of one child to other children. "Why can't others do the same?" Thats saying that all children have the same skills, or likes and dislikes. Completely disrespecting the uniqueness and indivudal situations that vary from child to child. True, they need to be taught and guided into good actions by their parents and caregivers...and sometimes they don't get the guidance they need. You can't blame a child (or call them names) for that.
I'm not young (well, I'm a young adult) but I work with children. What you label a bad experience is not really the child's fault. If you go out dressed in a suit, expect children to get exitable.

If you put a suit on, they will gravitate. I think its obnoxious to expect kids NOT to. They don't understand the hobby. They don't grasp how expensive it is.
As far as they know, fursuiters are there for their entertainment. Unless people tell them otherwise.

Actually, i think that dressing someone like a teddy bear, is inviting this person to be an true teddy bear. Think about it, the kid is not seing an person but an giant teddy bear. And so our mission became too to make the kids smile.
If one day, i pick up an fursuit to me, i will want to make kids smile.
After all, what are the point of an serious or monotonous fursuiter? If you pick one you have to be cute, funny and adorable.

This video was more or less not meant to be serious, I even just talked to Niko the other day and he said the girl in question was "just another kid." We all have had to interact with kids like this, and we understand that, to the children, they are interacting with a giant stuffed animal come to life and that is what we want. He played it off so very well too, took the maximum abuse possible while still entertaining the kid.

Yeah, when I get a fursuit this is one thing Im honestly not excited for lol. I don't think my fursuit is going to be as "cute" as others though, maybe that will help haha.

I thought "You've got four fingers... I've got five fingers!" was adorable, but then after the "open your mouth" thing she got pretty annoying. Like other people here have said, though, she doesn't realize that you guys are more than just big stuffed animals come to life. Though her parents definitely should have done something.

I love making kids smile, that's why I threw away my dignity and picked up costuming. If the kid started yanking on my tail or pulling at my ears or poking at my eyes, I would go to the parents. I can't ever tell a kid no but I can sure talk to am adult.

3:25 that did not just happen. If a kid did that to me, I would've took the kid back to their parents, yell at the parents for not watching their kid and that he/she grabbed me there, and tell the kid (w/o talking) not to grab there and point to a seat and tell the kid to stay there.
parents: FURRIES ARE NOT YOUR KIDS' BABYSITTERS! Watch your own kids or else this might happen.

When i suit irun into soo many of these encounters. There is always a child in red that wants to putt my hand off, rip the crap out of my tail and pull my muzzle. The sad thing is the parents just go sit down and leave them with me, a 15 year old suiter :/ i have a handler for the bigger meets because it gets wayy to many children doing the same things. But i do say some are just thinking your a giant toy there to play not just to go out in public. :) ahh well hope you had a good time :D

Why didn't you just tell her NO. You're the adult and she's just a kid, I think the way the fox handled it kind of just encouraged her more, because she thought it was all a game. Should have kicked her out after the crotch grabbing... that was WTF. Also it sucks that her parents were just letting it happen. Fursuits are great for kids but it's not like its your professional job to entertain them by having them harass you.

@moviesforcolin are you serious? he didn't tell her no because it WAS a game, in a way. him telling her no would be like a child's fantasy character telling her off. its much better to 'play the victim' so to speak. and judging from body language it wasn't all that big a deal. as for the crotch grabbing, that looked more like an accident to me. i doubt she even realized what she did.

@moviesforcolin I can see what the poor guy was doing. He was trying to not make the kid cry. I would blame the parents. They should have known that it was wrong what she was doing. If he were to say no or something, the kid would have got upset because she was told she couldn't do what she wanted and the parents would have got mad.

awwwww poor Niko!!!Serious question.... I was just wondering why one of your handlers didnt go talk to the girl's parent(s)? I mean if a kid is doing that to a fursuit couldnt it really damage it? (or even the fursuiter...esecually the blow at 3:32!) I mean sure the handler said "Be nice to the poor wolf" But when she didnt stop...i just was wondering why they didnt say anything to the parent? I would be scared of her damaging my fursuit...plz reply cuz i plan to be a future suiter...

I understand kids will be kids, and one must be prepared for this, but goodness. Sometimes... I volunteered with kids at my church, and one kept throwing toys and hitting people.

I've being in a similar situation in my Kyuubi fursuit, except I was in the middle of my hometown. I was managing to make a lot of people smile then one kid came up to me and when I crouched down, pulled at the ears of my suit. I moved away to prevent the tearing but then the kid followed me and was pulling at my tails, nearing tearing one off. They were taken away by their parents who did apologise to me but you can't really blame anyone. They are merely curious.

You can't apply the actions of one child to other children. "Why can't others do the same?" Thats saying that all children have the same skills, or likes and dislikes. Completely disrespecting the uniqueness and indivudal situations that vary from child to child. True, they need to be taught and guided into good actions by their parents and caregivers...and sometimes they don't get the guidance they need. You can't blame a child (or call them names) for that.

I'm not young (well, I'm a young adult) but I work with children. What you label a bad experience is not really the child's fault. If you go out dressed in a suit, expect children to get exitable.

Wow. You have no respect. Kids become adults, and the way we treat kids effects the type of adults they become. Raising kids is a community effort. Everyone the kid comes into contact with has their impact. Even "child haters".

To be honest, fursuiters really must not complain about children.
If you put a suit on, they will gravitate. I think its obnoxious to expect kids NOT to. They don't understand the hobby. They don't grasp how expensive it is.
As far as they know, fursuiters are there for their entertainment. Unless people tell them otherwise.
It offends me greatly when fursuiters complain about "rude kids".

Actually, i think that dressing someone like a teddy bear, is inviting this person to be an true teddy bear. Think about it, the kid is not seing an person but an giant teddy bear. And so our mission became too to make the kids smile.
If one day, i pick up an fursuit to me, i will want to make kids smile.
After all, what are the point of an serious or monotonous fursuiter? If you pick one you have to be cute, funny and adorable.

@TomyDayos Great point there, and I agree with you. This video was more or less not meant to be serious, I even just talked to Niko the other day and he said the girl in question was "just another kid." We all have had to interact with kids like this, and we understand that, to the children, they are interacting with a giant stuffed animal come to life and that is what we want. He played it off so very well too, took the maximum abuse possible while still entertaining the kid.
