It's the responsibility of that poor girls parents to have made her strong enough not to care what other people think or say. Or, to be comfortable enough to come to them and tell them what was going on at school. That way they could just change schools if needed. Not regulate and charge kids for their free speech, be it rude and hurtful. Kids will be kids and kids can be very cruel.

Abuse is a horrible thing to do to anyone. It is out of control in this society. Most of the time, people and family alike look the other way. It has been my experience that people are brutal and vicious. They are small-minded and they need groups to perpetuate these behaviors.
