Gurren Lagann English Cast

I prefer the English dub.

Yuri did a great job throughout his entire tenure, and definitely showed how Simon grew from a scared little boy to a badass action hero over the course of the series.

Kyle was very underrated in his performance, imo. He may have not been screamy or the same as the Japanese VA, but he had a great brotherly feel and felt like he COULD inspire others, rather than just yell at them to be better. It made his eventual death all the more heartbreaking.

It's hilarious that the guy who plays Gohan in DBZ is Kamina, but to be honest if I were to cast the guy who plays the voice of Mugen from samurai champloo or his other famous piece Kazuma from S-cry-ed should have done Kamina it would have fit his character better

i completly im not old or soemthign but anime nowadays can hardly evr compare to the real asian voice actors like how back then gokus voice was terible in japanese dbz and great in english i guess the aermican dubbers lt it all go there head and u get gems sometiems but blundrs like this time around and the asians wanting to work harder and not have chick sounding scruffy gokus are actually usign good voice actos now to make the original bettr like its suppose to be

Funny, but the dubbed cast for this series is rare, by which I mean: it carries over the main points better than the original jap voices, cause Americans are of course so in-tuned with this MANLINESS concept, which is finally useful for something...aka TTGL.

Except the Japanese are able to achieve something the English VA's can't. The lines don't sound cheesy in the original. They're cheesy as sin in the dub, which ruins the feel.

Also, it's GIGA DRILL BREAKER!!!!!!! Not Giga drill break. :/

I do admit: The dubbed actors from the US lack any type of care or emotion, but thats mainly due to social stigma's which render them that way.

To be honest: the only reason Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo did so well, was because it lacked most of the verbal emotions that the Japanese excel at.

That being said: Americans pull off the best one-liners and cliche's, they're just empty inside when it comes to emotions and affection.

The reason why it doesn't sound cheesy in Japanese is because your not Japanese =O

I'm sure when they watch our stuff translated it sounds cheesier in Japanese then English.

It sounds cheesier when they speak it then if you are just reading subtitles, and because you don't understand Japanese you don't really recognize how cheesy it is - because your focusing on the WRITTEN dialogue, and not how theyre saying it.
