@1980norcal From your video, looks like "his" nails are pretty short. Probably one of the biggest indicators between adult males and females. I have a female western paint and her nails are about the same size your appears in the video
Turtle's carnt swallow food out of the water due to them not producing saliva so need the water in the tank to help ..
And i carnt remember ever being bitten by a turtle , but ive seen people get bitten and some say it hurts and some say it doesnt .. but its a defensive move for them so they usually only snap and not keep hold of you ..

One of my hatchling res bit me before when i was goin to put him in his feeding tank, it didn't hurt though... i bled a little but nope.
lol bet the stinkpot can bite harder XD
btw i gave my 3 res to my frnd.. and soon i will get a striped mud turtle, a stinkpot, and maybe a razorback too :)
