  • why? why this song it was't soundtrack? why?

  • @san1885 If you mean why it wasn't soundtrack for the film, you must know that actually they asked Blind Guardian to make music for this film, but they refused because they were busy doing their own album...

  • 98 minions of Sauron looking for traces of the ring on youtube were disappointed, because they didn't get new information.

  • I saw them on Metalcamp :-) It was a great show. Awsome Band - great video...i don´t understand why they don´t use metalsongs for soundtracks...

  • 98 people don't watch lord of the rings

  • Best version of this song and video I have ever seen. Good work!

You need to learn more of J.R.R TOLKIEN.

Its '' LOTR '' Lord of the ring scenes. And the music tell about the history.

If you know LOTR , you will love it. :)

Sry for my bad english , im brazilian

  • @UpoMeusComents thanks for replying ....and i'll definetly check it out

  • @princessbella64

    sure..

    :)

  • @princessbella64

Lord of the rings is a fantasy book, commonly split into three parts. The parts are The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King. The song is based on the book, whilst the video has been made with clips from the fairly recent movies, also based on the book and split in the same three parts. The book is very long but extremely good and detailed if you put the effort into it. The same could be said of the films ( they are all about three hours long!)

  • @AlfredTheEccentric oh thank you so much!!! now i've got to read all three books ...!

  • @AlfredTheEccentric Lord of the Rings is actually 6 books, split into three volumes. Got me one of the old hardcover all in one volume mega book that's 1200 pages. None of that book of the movie shit either.

Table of contents lists "Book One" and Book Two" under each heading of the titles most are familiar with.

  • @LerrisHarrington, I was trying to keep it simple for her, I'm fully aware that it is one story split into six books (or seven counting the appendixes) but usually published as either one massive volume or three smaller ones.

  • @AlfredTheEccentric I was just being overly specific, thats me :D

Also, LOVE the mega-volume formats for series. Somehow its just more satisfying to hold 1000+ pages in your hands.

  • @LerrisHarrington Bloody hurts when you drop the hardback on your foot though :S

  • @princessbella64 LotR=best movies ever made, best books ever written. Period. You must watch/read them.

  • thanks...i soo wanna read/watch'em ..everyone says so, so it must be Great!

  • And where is R2D2?

  • Death/ Black metal bands that took their names from lord of the rings: Amon Amarth, Orodruin, Uruk Hai, Burarum, Morgoth, Grishnak'h, cirith ungol, Burzum, Gorgoroth.... andthe wizard by sabath is about Gandalf.... So for all that is best in life and metal, we have tolkien to thank. And he will live forever through heavy metal!!!!

  • @warpig089

Cirith Ungol has nothing to do with black nor death metal.

  • @MorbidAngelOfSorrow yeah my bad... i was supposed to put them after sabbath... still kick ass classic power metal

  • Comment removed

  • @VicaCOBHC LMAO! oh dear =') this is terribly epic

  • @ChrisBeckMetal XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Why you compare HP and TLOTR? Both are books that have change the life of a lot of people but apart of that, the only same thing between them is that both tell to the reader a wonderful adventure story.

I love both sagas, and if you insist in compare, there are a lot of books which seems like LOTR, even before this were created.

(Sorry if any word it's in a wrong place, I'm spanish)

  • MORDOOOOORRRRRRRRRRR.. MORDOOOOORRRRRRRR!!

  • There is only one Lord of the Ring, only one who can bend it to his will. And he does not share power.

  • Before you guys continue comparing LOTR to Harry Potter or any other sci-fi/fantasy story, let me point out that SAM is the main character, not Frodo.

  • Potter ist der letzte Kinderschrott

  • este un film smecher

this movie is the best in the world

  • this is like porn fanasty and music got together had sex and gave birth to blind guardian thats how epic they are

  • @metalrulesforrever

    :D Zajebista metafora :]

  • As far as I can tell, the only movie series better than Lord of the Rings is The Godfather, and they are so far different it's ridiculous.

  • obviously there is no movie out there which is batter than lord of the rings...the music in the films was epic BUT BG SHOULD HAVE DO IT!!!!

  • @orestious17 Actually the music in Lord of the Rings was the only part I really liked. Howard Shore did an excellent job. In fact I would be MUCH happier if he released the soundtrack by itself and the movies were never made.

  • @icedragon769 yes the music in LOTR was awsome! keep singing them in in shower even after all these years ;)

  • @orestious17 The next best thing they could've done (next to releasing the soundtrack and skippng the movie) is write some songs based on the poems that Tolkien wrote (like The Tolkien Ensemble)

  • This song is amazing!

  • ASOIAF > LOTR

  • @TommyLuthi

    Horseshit.

  • I just found another video, same song, but much better quality. can someone please tell me the relationship between these two recordings?

    watch?v=ilAwzod1NDk&feature=related

  • the son g in this video is a little bit faster

  • Does anyone else get a Bob Dylan feeling at 2:33?

  • SW don't come near to LoTr since SW actually doesn't offer much in terms of artistic and hasn't left a mark in literature, as it was created to be a blockbuster, while the whole Middle Earth cycle was inspired by epics from Germanic, Nordic and Greek mythology, and is the one of the most influential works in the 20th century, springing the whole EF genre to life..as for the song of fire and ice, great book no doubt, but it cannot be compared to LoTr, since they represent totally different ideas

  • @crwnv There is no proof that SW was created to be a blockbuster, but i will give you that. SW is a different genre, so the level of artistry must be considered differently. Story wise, several of the SW has a more interesting plotline. The two works have had a very similar impact on western culture there are just as many people who are fluent in Galactic Basic Standard as Sindarin. The literature quality is obviously different, but SW puts out a much greater quantity of work/story.

  • @icedragon769 the quantity of the story wasn't in question, but the quality.. and that's the place where the whole MIddle Earth cycle hasn't got a match, simply because of the whole setting and the genuine epic spirit which was integrated into a story created by just one man! the movies are probably a tie, at least the first 3 films vs the Lotr movies, but the book is just on a different level..

  • @icedragon769 #2

Lotr is the most influential EF novel, it (the whole middle earth cycle) started the EF wave which exploded into literature, and later other entertainment branches... SW was a hit, it had a huge impact on the cinema industry, but it's influence on the whole SF genre is almost diminutive... Clarke and Asimov are #1, with a few authors coming in behind those 2.. as for the quality of SW books, well, not even one nomination in any of the major SF/EF awards speaks for itself...

  • @crwnv PS: I love both franchises, and I honestly can't choose which of the two is my favorite.

PSS: I can't speak for Song of Fire and Ice, I have yet to read it.

    Namarie!

  • @icedragon769 I love SW movies, they're great fun, but that's all...

as for the Ice and fire, it's a great piece of reading, a bit more down to earth, hardcore, fantasy novel, with much more medieval elements and a lot less romance than Lotr... different idea, as i said

  • This is only song of BG witch I like. I listen to metal, but not like this, this group is similar to rock groups ...

  • @1994Alive Have you heard "The eldar" or "the bard song"? Try with it!

  • Blind Guardian is just amazing. I loved the tunes when I was 13 years old - and I still love the songs now (I'm almost 30)

  • There seem to be two different versions of this song. This is the other one, more "compact" and smoother: watch?v=ilAwzod1NDk

Anybody knows which one is the original?

  • @CaptainRobau The link you provided matches the song I have in the original album.

  • 93 orcs watched this video

  • why is everyone talking about avatar?!?! that movie is not even near of the awesomeness of LOTR... it has a good plot and stuff but lord of the rings has a mighty plot that will never die!!! >:U

  • LOVE this beautiful song !

  • Lord of the Rings isn't really comparable to anything there is, except Star Wars. These are the only works that really managed to reach this incredible level of complexity and believability. It's irrelevant to compare these to Harry Potter, and it's stupid to compare to Avatar.

  • Comment removed

  • @Staward Don't even dare to compare LotR to Star Wars. SW isn't even worthy to be in the same sentence with LotR!

  • @KimboRamboFin Of course it is. SW is pretty much as vast as Lotr. They're actually very complex pieces, so it's kinda hard to determinate which one is bigger. Anyway, they are on the same level of complexity, not comparing content.

  • @Staward You sir, are wrong. I wasn't talking about LotR movies, I was also talking about the books. But you know what, I'm too tired to argue with you. Just read the books and you'll see.

  • @KimboRamboFin What are you talking about, exactly? Because i'm talking about the amount of content present in both works. While Lotr has got books and movies, the story in there (the Lord of the Rings book, specifically) hasn't got much to it compared to the whole thing (counting with the Silmarallion and all other stuff Tolkien has created on his world). Equivalent to that, you got the whole expanded SW universe with years and years of story, both prior and posterior to the two trilogy movies.

  • @KimboRamboFin

Plus tey are totally different concepts =/

  • @KimboRamboFin : To be fair, I just re-watched the original classic unfucked with movies. It follows the same story structure as LOTR. However George got greedy and sold his art out and turned into into a mediocre toy franchise. They unfortunately did that to LOTR as well with the release of the movies. While good movies, the studios had the movies made if only to exclusively get the rights to sell plastic toys. The art value is deprecated, but LOTR set the standard for modern fantasy thus...

  • @Nagneto: why it's better.

  • @KimboRamboFin

Both of those are god-tier. Well, SW is a bit lower-ranked then LotR, but it's still superior by far to this new age shit such as twillight and harry potter.

  • @KimboRamboFin definitely due.LOTR IS an epic

  • @KimboRamboFin heeey dudess dont mess with the vader.. the new movies suck though.. but the originals cant be touched

  • @Staward I totally agree with you!!!! :)

  • @Staward - Completely correct. Lord of the Rings is much deeper and complex and engaging than anything aside from (debatably) Star Wars, which is also very deep and engaging in it's own right.

  • @Staward i dont think that even star wars can be compared with lord of the rings...Star wars was made by 1 man but its been continued with the help of many..Tolkien made lord of the rings a whole universe with languages that you can actually learn to speak..with names that mean something and were made for a reason...i dont underestimate star wars but i also dont think that is in the same level with the creation of Tolkien

  • @orestious17 I am merely judging the amount of content within the work. It's true that SW have the hands of many on it, but the whole composition makes up to the comparation.

  • @Staward I think the tv show "Game of Thrones" can compare to both Star Wars and LOTR.

  • @Staward While the Lord of the Rings is great, it is as nothing compared with the earlier work. The epic we only caught a glimpse of. That which is the Silmarillion.

  • Respond to this video... Please do not mention trash like sw in places of merit.

  • I seen this movie! out of all the lord of the rings which one is the best.

  • for you visually inspired types, peer into Youtube's by far best kaleidoscope. filmed in high res with eye popping color capture. search Youtube for "Blue Siberia"

  • Nicely done video. Just to let you know, though, I think the orchestral version of this song is better. If any of you guys are curious, search "lord of the rings orchestral" and it should come up.

  • I think that The lord of the rings is totally on a different planet, the book first then the films......there's nothing similar....because the man who wrote this beautifull opera is a GENIUS....not a normal man.....so we can not compare this masterpiece with crap like avatar, eragon, Harry Fotter and co.......NO WAY!

  • My fav band and fav film, great combination

  • i love the ring movies they touching my soul and my heart . they were so epic so fantastic. Brothers stand side by side, fight against the Darkness, and all Races UNITE to live in a better future! i wannt this in real life.

and this is the perfect music to it.

  • Lord of the rings > Avatar.

    Gollum > Na'vis

Aragorn and Frodo > Jake Sully

    Peter Jackson > James Cameron.

    Howard Shore > James Horner

  • @champFichtnerBourne Goes more like this:

Lord of the Rings > Harry Potter

    Gollum > Dobby/ Kreature

    Sam > Ron

    Nazgul > Dementor

    Merry & Pippin > George & Fred

    Sauron > Voldemort

    Gandalf > Dumbledore

    And most importantly: J. R. R. Tolkien > > > > > > > J. K. Rowling

  • @Gazer794

go home y'all... Harry Fracking Potter.

  • @Gazer794 Totally disagree on the merry & pippin part. Not only they suck but also George and Fred are quite cool.

But yea, it's no secret Rowling got a lot of hints from Tolkien ;)

  • @Makedonwow who didn't?

  • @danthruni Stephen King didn't!

  • @Makedonwow you must be confusing Peter Jackson with JRR Tolkien. Pippin and Merry are amazing characters, Jackson killed them because he needed some comedic relief, which in LOTR should come from Aragorn, Gandalf, and the others they meet on the road.

And I don't think that Rowling is that similar to Tolkien. i guess it's debatible, but their Magic works differently, the storylines are very different, and it's just on a totally different scale.

  • @icedragon769 Hm? What are you talking about? What makes you think i'm confusing them? Tolkien is the writer of 1 thing and Rowling the writer of the other...

I said I think Pippin and Merry suck and that's that. I doubt they are your brothers so don't get offended, people are entitled to their opinion which you are free to disagree with but no I ain't confusing anything.

And yea there are differences between the two, however lots of people agree with me.Ofc you wouldn't see Harry carry a ring

  • @Makedonwow I didn't say you're confusing Rowling and Tolkien, I said you're confusing Jackson and Tolkien. Like I said, Pippin and Merry were amazing characters until Jackson killed them for the sake of a cliche hollywood film.

And as for the Potter debate, if anything he should be compared to Sam, who is the main protagonist of Lord of the Rings, not Frodo.

  • @icedragon769 You're on a monologue, mate. Why would i confuse Jackson with Tolkien? Again, what makes you say that? I bet i can tell you 150 times i ain't confusing anything and you will keep saying it. Tolkien and Rowling were the names mentioned that i replied to. I am not confusing anything.

And AGAIN, you may think Pippin was amazing but i don't. To each his own, try to understand that concept please.

p.s. what jackson did in the films is not my concern.

  • @Makedonwow I'm sorry for being unspecific. I take it that you are basing your opinion of Merry and Pippin on the Jackson films, where they are stupid comics, bumbling their way around and never doing anything significant for the story.

Were you to read the works of Tolkien himself (and I am not necessarily referring to you, this applies to everyone who watches the movies and expects to understand the story) you would know that Pippin and Merry are stronger characters than Aragorn, (cont.)

  • @Makedonwow Legolas, and Gimli, whom the movie spends much time fawning over. Merry was the best friend of a King of the Mark, and almost singlehandedly slew one of the Nazgul. Pippin strove against Sauron and managed to keep secret the plans of the West, and killed a troll, knowing that he would die in the act.

  • @icedragon769 Ye, i 've read all the books both in english and my native language :).

I know and remember all their feats and they are indeed great no doubt about that. However like I said... I just don't like them! :p Dunno why. And i mean no disrespect towards anyone.

For instance, I respect Sam more than the "main" character Frodo. I'm kinda weird ^_^

  • @Makedonwow In that case, I'm sorry for bothering you on it.

And if you pay good attention to the story, Sam IS the main character. Especially after the company leaves Lothlorien, Frodo becomes a secondary character and the story revolves around Sam.

  • @Gazer794 you can't compare gollum with dobby O.o

  • @Gazer794 Frodo > Harry

  • @TheIronFist9 Incorrect. Despite the fact that most of the characters are LOTR rips, Harry does not bear much similarity to Frodo.

  • @Gazer794 is just because it's the main character. Sam is not simillar to Ron. Sam never abandoned Frodo and Ron did it twice.

  • @TheIronFist9 Sam and Ron are both redheaded supporting characters which encourage the main character. Your are correct Sam never abandons Frodo. And by the way did I mention One Ring > Horcurx Ring

  • @Gazer794 both of you are 100% right

  • @Gazer794 Damn, why spit on his grave like that, sure Rowling wrote some nice books and harry potter is awesome but not near as epic as LOTR

  • @ZEROSINzaw Yes but she ripped all the characters and didn't even mention LOTR as inspiration! I enjoyed Harry Potter immensely but I think she pushed it with the characters.

  • @Gazer794 Haha :D

  • @Gazer794 Man do not compare! JRR Tolkien is a true writer, who created Middle Earth even before Rowling does not come in the world!

I consider insulting to the comparison you did.

After that Rowling's characters have pumped about Tolkien, okay. But in saying that Voldemort Sauron is ...

Tolkien is a real writer. He acres a world history, races, languages, fauna and flora!

Rowling has just located his story in England, say the 1990s, and added two to three more tricks.

  • @Gazer794 She intended her book to children, Tolkien, the for teens and adults, to make them rediscover the Bible in a different way for them to discover the story of a very different way. Comparing the two writing styles, and you will understand.

  • @darkelfmwc You're correct with both your comments I agree with you. But I compared them in order to show people how clearly she ripped stuff from his books

  • @Gazer794 Ok, I'm sorry. I think it is not a writer, but bump in marketing. Ell wrote to sell, sell, sell, than money, but that's all. Personally, I look at the latest book and movie ... I do not see that marketing.

  • @Gazer794 ok^^ I think there will be never another writer as JRR Tolkien.

  • @Gazer794 Quem é Harry Potter? Não compara isso com Senhor dos Anéis!!

  • @Gazer794 damn, I like both LOTR and harry potter :P but I have to agree LOTR is a classic (and has awesome songs by awesome bands that are inspired by it! :D)

  • @champFichtnerBourne Dude how can you compare The Lord of The Rings to avatar?!?! The Trilogy is epic, it's Legendary... not like lame avatar...

  • @champFichtnerBourne A Song of Ice and Fire>The Lord of The Rings

  • @champFichtnerBourne

Ahhh...I got James Horner and Mike Horner mixed up!

  • @champFichtnerBourne You forgot: J.R.R. Tolkien > all

  • @champFichtnerBourne I agree on everything, lord of the rings is probably one of the greatest film ever made, but say that peter jackson is better than James Cameron is a big big big big shit.

  • ring bearer is justin bieber not Frodo baggins

  • Great video to a great song. Thank s

  • @Ardwar go listen to justin bieber

  • it cant get enny better then this

  • this band was a speedand a little power metal band i am german sry for my english:)

  • i love between 2:50 and 3:04

  • - ANiceGuy094 - Fan made LoTRs videos :D

  • ORDINARY COPY OF MANOWAR, THE FIRST, THE UNIQUE MANOWAR!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheNICKMAGIC we can't copare blind guardian to manowar, they are just stupid fifty years old asswhole with muscle who are thinking that they are sexy

lol anyways manowar is copy of virgin steele, but without culture :P Look out for them it's sure that you will like that band better than manowar

  • @Cosovak i must rage at u with STFU because i love manowar

  • @TheNICKMAGIC dude...are you really comparing two COMPLETLY DIFFERENT bands?

  • a bit too fast ;D

  • lotr...very good book, although there were a few characters that only existed for 1 chapter..the hobbit was much better to read. the lotr movies are epic though...no disputes there.

  • Blind Guardian sounds a lot better live :P

  • @Hyshinara And thats just great aint it?, They are so awsome on record and even better live,, gives you a great reason to see them live.

  • @rolig95 Yeah, they are awesome :D

One of the best live bands I've ever seen :)

I hope they come to Graspop again this year :D
