@Freddyeightythree Buddy you hit the nail right between the eyes. Irregardless of what ever issues there were in the band .....it just wasn't the same without Roth. Absolute magic with the blend of talent on the stage.
@usemesnipe If rock is "dead", then how come games like Guitar Hero have only brought the best music into the minds of young people the world over? My 12 and 15 yr olds' favorite music is classic rock like Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Journey, etc. Sure, they like Hollywood Undead, and such, but don't kid yourself; rock will--and does--endure. Rap will wane...just like disco.
@xxJakinatorxx so true, unlike in the states here in the uk rock bands are still respected and on radio, while rap has dominated us radio in uk we listen to oasis, the killers, radiohead, coldplay, the white stripes, the strokes rock lives everywhere except us radio
@Freddyeightythree I am not a fan of VAN HAGAR. MAYBE one or two songs. But you have to admit Dave was the spark for this band. Right or wrong or whatever problems they had with him there was a magic between Eddies guitar and Roth. Something happened and EVERY Van Halen fan knows it. You just know it. You feel it. The classic Halen has that vibe
@iamdannywilde I guess it's just a matter of taste.. But growing up in the 1970's and being brought into rock with Van Halen.. It's just not the same without Dave.. Glad they're back and with the original line up!
70's were the best, everything revolutionized in the 70's technology was on the musicians side in the 80's, not so much in the 70's, they still had to earn there craft as it was said.
Boy does this bring back memories. I remember sitting with my girlfriend in a dark room watching the lighted dials on the stereo and listening to this tune. We enjoyed it so much. Those were the times. Great Song.
95% of teens these days listen to the same formulaic, crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die!
Alex Van Halens least favorite song of the whole VH catalog. Eddie wasn`t happy with it either. The record company put a lot of pressure on the band to write a hit.
So the boys got in a circle and hummed out things. Fleetwood Mac`s "go your own way" was out and really popular so it was used as the example and it`s obvious. DLR wanted to call it "Dance Lolita Dance" but Ed convinced him to stay with "Dance the night away" Ed didn`t like being "forced to puke songs out in the studio"
@xUndisputedAttitude um, sorry , but some of us love van halen , and some don't . But to respect the ones who LOVE Van halen, keep your bad comments to yourself.
This is the first song I ever bought off of itunes. It always makes me flashback to being 6 in 1998 driving around at night at loving that feeling of seeing the darkness next to the brightness of the stoplights and car lights while listening to some really rad music. Though I tend to have that feeling with all of the 70s music I grew up with in the late 90s. Good times.
@GOOCHMASTER15 I think the same,I asked my friend have you herd of Van Halen. he goes "Who", im like my fucking good lison to good music ,not that pre cut beats and have the record company make the song for you kind of music
@GOOCHMASTER15 There's more of it out there than you think. I'm not talking about the stuff we can't turn the corner without hearing their name, I'm talking about people who love our music. A lot of my friends here at Appalachian State are fans of both modern rap music AND bands like Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, etc. Some of the newer rock bands aren't too shabby either. It's out there, trust me.
@GOOCHMASTER15 I feel you man. But there's enough Van Halen fans out there (along with many other fans of great music like VH) that we might be on the verge of getting a band that will be the Van Halen of our generation. I mean, the music industry is pretty much fucked right now, but it could still happen. I totally see what you mean though.
@undershock94 Oh Really? Oh, you mean like Slipknot and Bullet For My Valentine, right? Or as gokuwarrior said, Owl City and Jonas Brothers? Because if THAT'S what you're talking about, then you can go fuck yourself, because i will never, NEVER accept that as real music. And I'm a music major, so I KNOW MY SHIT when it comes to music.
@GOOCHMASTER15 so what the fuck is you are a music major? you've never heard of bands like kasabian, the strokes, the hives, arctic monkeys? those bands that play GOOD music? nowadays? maybe you DONT LIKE IT but that doesnt meant there isnt good music nowadays close minded fuck
@undershock94 Oh no, i DO listen to some good modern music- But ONLY the good music, not the stupid shit you listen to. I'm only close minded to shit, but to anything with real artistic merit, i'm completely open to it, you fucking retard.
Oh I haven't laughed so hard since I was a little girl, thank-you for that. Back to the matter at hand, There are bands that are a cut above other bands, yeah... But they don't hold a candle to Van Halen. Come to a fucking compromise and listen to the music.
@TheSmf4u yeah... nir-schmock-vana put out their crap and everything went down... Winger's Pull, Motley Corabi album, Animals with human intelligence from Enuff Z'nuff and Van Halen's Balance were one of the last good albums in 90s
@oldrichflorian tell me about it, I dont like hair metal either (poison, scorpions, whitesnake, etc) and Van Halen is NOT hair metal, Van Halen is just beautiful hard rock of the late 70's early 80's hagar wasnt nearly as good as roth
@TheSmf4u are you fucking kidding me? music died in the nineties?? good music was reborn in the nineties. Nirvana, Alice in Chains, smashing pumpkins banished all the eighties crap from the land
@BeingCoolIsMyJobMan 90's sucked ass, bunch of 3 chords losers skronking out stupid songs, no guitar solos, or serious musicianship at all. Just another type of poser. The glam rock poser hair bands like Poison etc, killed the latter part of the 80's rock scene, but they didn't represent the entire 80's scene. I'll take The Fixx over Nirvana any day of the week.
@TheSmf4u I agree! Since the early 90's music has been total sh!t!!! Lots of sampling, remakes and no kind of originality or creativity! The younger generation doesn't know what good music is or was....sad! \m/
@NROD22 unfortunately, i am the younger generation, but not ALL of us listen to the new shit thats called "music" these days, so please dont stereotype all of us as kids with no taste, thank you
@dean44100 Sorry If I offended, but it's how I see it....don't take it personal. I'm speaking of all that I have come i contact with and what I see on tv, and hear on the radio. Call it like I see/hear it.

Whomever calls themselves a Christian and uses filthy language is a liar and hypocrite (see Col. 3:8 and 1 Pe. 2:1).
