Notice Miss Curacao points quickly to Miss Brazil after Miss Finland steps down. She must've been telling Miss Brazil "you're going to win", as she knew her winning the title in racially charged America was highly unlikely. In fact, impossible.

Miss Haiti 1962 was indeed the first black woman in the semifinalist of miss Universe. Curacao became the first black woman in the top 5 as first runner-up and Trinidad & Tobago was the first black Miss Universe ever in 1977. So all these women made history. If Curacao or Brasil should have won, that's past. Both are beautiful, but sentimentaly I think that Curacao should have won.

Our Miss Annemarie Braafheid, topped for Curaçao and still is the best Miss Curaçao top scorer in the pageant. And still is as beautiful.

She topped history by also being the first colored Finalist in the Miss Universe Pageant. (She was the female version of Barack Obama back then) :D

Marta Vasconcelos é muito linda mesmo,assim como a Ieda Maria Vargas,Miss Universo 1963 e as duas são as únicas brasileiras que venceram esse concurso.Vejo no vídeo que a Miss Curaçao era linda também assim como as outras 3 finalistas!!

Com certeza mesmo que Marta Vasconcelos é extremamente bela,expontânea e simpática e ainda vingou a injustiça com Martha Rocha 14 anos antes e é muita coinscidência,são 2 Martas,ambas de Salvador e tem pele,cabelos e olhos claros.A Rocha perdeu pela história de suas polegadas a mais nos quadris,mais a Vasconcelos foi a Marta sem polegadas a mais,ou seja,a Marta na medida certa!Felicidades!!!!

Miss Curacao is the first black semifinalist ever....she should have been Miss Universe 1968...But was also the time of Martin Luther King ..and the black power movement in the USA....so think that politics may have interfere with Annemarie becoming the first black Miss Universe.
