this video should be send worldwide, YES we can give them more punishment, take the drivinglicense for ever, but -- I think and fear, they will do it again. We MUST stop drunk driving, something must be done. I dont know how, but it is terrible, when people die or get injured so much because of drunken drivers. Maybe we shuld create a key for alle cars being able to smell alkohol. Then the car should be unable to start. All thumbs up for your message dear Steve

Hi,the trouble is when some people have had a drink they think they can fly,they can do anything and they also believe they can drive better when they are drunk,

I think the pub and club owners should have the authority to ask their clients for their car keys as soon as they go over the limit then they couldn't drive .

If there is one thing gets me on my 'Soap Box' it is when anyone is injured or dies from there injuries by a 'Drunk Driver'they should get the Maximum prison sentence and be banned from driving for life.... because They will never learn will they? Glad you got the chance to have your story told Steve...... Nothing will bring Your brother back, or take away the pain you have gone through. ....so hope they were listening to you.;)

No matter where we live in this world, there are drunk drivers and people get killed and badly injured because of them. Glad you got to tell your story my friend. I pray for your continued recovery. I believe like many that the law needs to be revised,where there is ample proof of someones disregard for other roadusers,pedestians safety if the proof is on video,showing how dangerous they were driving,then lock them away &LEAVE US ALL THAT MUCH SAFER, after all the remit of the police is the detection of crime, detention of criminals & the "prevention"of crime too.Taking them off the road &putting them away complies with all the Police criteria & will save a fortune for the health service

the law is an ass, that's for sure, in Spain they have to support the victim & family for life,still does not stop them driving like locos though,as they park on zebra crossings, ignore red lights, talk on mobiles, to this day, i think its wrong that the heavy sentences only apply when someone is a victim &crippled, when they are filmed by cop car cameras driving through the streets as seen on TV,when stopped the judge should immediately apply top penalty Take them off the road BEFORE they kill

Steve , Here in the states drunk drivers face very stiff sentencing, esp. if someone is killed. M.A.D. Mothers against drunk drivers have been getting the laws changed, longer prison sentences , loss of drivers licenses. This has a big impact , people are taking cabs , having designated drivers ! So , Sorry for your loss . Thanks , for posting your videos, very meaningful to us dealing with loss !

When my sis was hit by a drunk driver many moons ago it took her 3 yrs just to function again. The guy who ran her over got a slap on the hand. Today if the same thing happened he still would get a slap on the hand. The punishment does not fit the crime enough here in the United States. So what they lose there license for a while and have to take a class. Wow. Look at what pain and suffering the victim go through. The justice system sucks.

@3slimdog Thank yo uI'm glad you agree. Me, my brother, and our brother in law were hit by a speeding drink driver as we crossed a road, sadly my brother died a few hours later, and I was left fighting for my life. Now, almost 6 years later, I still suffer, but we all try to carry on

Great video to post Steve . Many don't relize how light the sentences are for this kind of incident. They need to have stiffer penalties for those drinking and driving to discourage it. I know of people that have 3 and 4 offences and have never done a day of time for it. Thats just plain stupid of the justice system

Hi Steve, My views on a case of negligent drivers is when they take a life or cause life changing injures I say 20 to life. Maybe people would think twice before climbing into their cars drunk.
