act one was alright, but u got the story wrong, yes the hazards of love 3 is when he gets haunted, but its all wrong, wheres Margret? in the album/story he kidnaps her and was about to rape her, then the ghosts came and bought William time to get over there to save his precious Margret.

Hell, not just these two songs, but the whole album is one big story. The Gueen hires the Rake to kidnap Margaret, 'cos she wants William to remain with her. Maybe.

"The Rake's Song" was the first Decemberists song I heard, then I bought the whole album; but I didn't understand how some songs were linked to the whole story of Margret. Now I see some are a story within a story.

Same here! Rakes was the first Decemberists I ever heard and then heard the whole albumn.

I actaully like this song more on its own. It changed my way of looking at it when I listen to it along with the other songs. Its strong enough and more chilling on its own.

the rake marries this woman, and is happy at first because he gets to have sex a lot, but then she starts having kids and he doesn't like it. She has 3 kids (Isiah, Charlotte, and Dawn), but dies giving birth to a stillborn 4th child. The rake is happy she's dead, but is still stuck with his three kids, so he decides to murder them all (poisons Charlotte, drowns Dawn, then kills and burns Isiah). But the kids come back as ghosts and either kill him or drive him mad. And that's the story!

I especially love what you did with "The Hazards of Love 3 (Revenge)." The image of his three children haunting him and chasing him through his own house is brilliant. I like that you kept this animation simple instead of trying to add the whole Maraget in captivity storyline along with it. Awesome job!! This was very fun to watch.

This is extremely well done. It takes the story out of the baroque, intricate world of Hazards and makes it much simpler (the stick figures and flat backgrounds), which in a way makes the Rake's tale even more horrifying.
