2002 Rios was already finished for a long time... his decline came beginning fo 1999, he even disapeared from the tour for quite a time to come back for a short time in 2001-02. The match against Federer here is not really a good indicator.

How Marcelo Rios became N 1 without winning a Grand Slam, it's absurd, he was a talent guy but anyway something is missing.

@carogalo well, he got to the final of the australian open then won Indian Wells and Miami back to back. its not so absurd. Its just a shame his career was so marred by injury, he probably would have won a slam if it hadn't been.

These are two of the greatest tennis players to ever walk the face of the earth! Both gentlemen of the game. Sorry that Marcelo left the game so soon because of his injuries. He was a total tennis genious!
