Thanks, I picked that up from an old Lovin' Spoonful songbook when I was young. It helps fill the bottom of the chord. Sometimes I play the G chord with D on the B string. I was told a lot of bluegrass guys do it this way. It depends on the song.

Right Its Like A Beatle G With The 6Th If You Play The G On First String And D On The Seconed You Have Very Good Chord Structure Thats What I Watch For
