  • get the highest grain sand paper you can, after the headlights start on the paint!

  • what type of sand we use? 1500 or 1000 or 600?

  • with*

  • @skaught911 TOOTHPASTE AND A TOOTHBRUSH! scrub it like you brush your teeth, and then sith elbow grease, buff out the stuckyness, and pow! clean and new looking headlights for about... free. lol the cost of an old toothbrush and some of your toothpaste, and then the best part... they will smell minty :D

  • If you have a BMW, you can replace that lense. No need to sand it.

  • watch the tape @ 1:12 in the corner and @ 2:16 again .. never in a trillion year will you fix water/dust problems in the headlights by rubbing some sand.....

  • Don't do this. It will be worse than before within a week or so. Headlights have a UV protect coat on them. You just sanded this off. You have to clear coat these after, otherwise its a complete waste

  • @IPGAuto Could not agree more, I used a kit from Canadian Tire and it ruined my headlights. And a new set to replace the current ones costs around $500.

  • @IPGAuto -- good advice. what would you suggest using to coat it?

  • @TheHypoparody - By all means, sand it till it turns clear. Start with rough sandpaper, going to very smooth. At the end, it needs to be coated with Clear Coat. It protects for oxidation.

  • i freakin' hate these people for making the headlights out of such crap plastic so you'll have to change them frequently. it's kind of odd that the yellow signaling side of the headlight is much much more clear than the rest, don't you think ?

  • too good to be true, it's not the product that makes it like this it's the sanding involved and a clear coat to stop it from happening again - there's no way just rubbing that stuff on gets you this result

  • فوتوشوب ههههه امزح

  • yah mon! me want me head light fixes cos it real rough nah mon!!!

  • have bmw 540i 1997have Ugly Hazy Headlight how can clean means how...>?

  • 400 600 800 1000 2000 grit sanding, meguire polish and 3000 rpm buffer = like brand new

  • TOOF PASTE

  • Fix my dick dot com. Just look at other videos on youtube. You don't have to buy this guys crap.

  • I want to know sir does it really work?

  • did you say that car looks great? ))

  • i wet sand mine with 2000 grit sand paper and buff it with compound and it was like new you need a buffing machine to do the buffing its really hard to do it by hand

  • You know you can just use an avocado, right?

The weak acid in an avocado's meat will eat away a good portion of headlight grime. Aside from car polish or a dedicated headlight revitalizing kit (or a new headlight), it's the way to go.

Just eat an avocado, leave a bit of the meat on the inside of the skin, and rub it on like a polish or wax. Leave it for a minute, then wash well & dry.

I just did it to my car's headlights earlier today, and the difference was astounding.

  • @TurboLag23 if thats true thanks for the tip im gunna try that on my mustang

  • @TurboLag23 Im gonna feel like a idiot if this doesnt work, but if it this many thanks! :)

  • just buy new Headlight

  • Mine are like this but are not rough to touch does that mean its on the inside?

  • this works but you have to make sure you maintain the headlight, i've seen people do this and then less than a year down the road headlight goes faded again. i recommend people do this then to keep it fresh by applying Meguires PlastX after every wash. I did and mine lasted for years keeping it clear instead of hazing.

  • nice aggie shirt!

  • looks good, I'm going to be doing this as well, i was impressed with your job.

  • Baby if it's not rough it isn't fun .....

  • wat if its dirty from the inside ?!!!!

  • @TOMcatSUD time to buy some new buckets, but srsly there are kits out there to help with that but its almost easier and cheaper to buy a new bucket.

  • i still dont why a bmw such an expensive car has that ugly headlights and my dodge stratus 2000 doesnt have that ugly thing and im not that car fanatic

  • @newthepanch Good job on making the most pointless comment on youtube...you brick.

  • @darmikela lol thats hilarious

  • easy ,

1 rub gently with sand paper , 400 + water

2- rub gently with sand paper 1200 + water

    3- wash

    4- clean dust

    4 - paint it with locker+harner

5- u have new head lights !! , i do that in my garage as free service hahahaha

  • @3131561

    600 wet

    1000 wet

    1500 wet

Cutting compound capable of removing 1500 grit scratches like Frecla, 3M, Menzerna etc.

    Polishing compound

    Glaze

    Wax

They will look better than the new ones

  • @maciejbugno wax? i think u r wrong , i'm living in a hot area , so sunlights + hot sand on air + high temperature of xenon lights will absolutely returns your lights to yellow besides polishing headlights is an old trick , i said paint them with this mixture

    thiner + horner + locker on exact these rates , 15% , 25% , 60% , and see

  • people dont take care of nice fucking cars. the rims are filthy and it was all nicked up. fucking snobs

  • ooh. the wet sanding method... never seen that one before. even I know how to do this. I did this for my friends and family and come out with the exact same results.

  • What they failed to mention in the ad was the price. That's a big mistake.

  • Hmm an asian that doesn't know how to fix up his own car....now I have seen it all!

  • how do u fix condensation in the headlight

  • You need to repair or replace the headlight gasket.

  • @tonytrilex

Depending on the light style and glue/silcone used U can use warm water or hair dryer to relese the parts.

If it is glued with some hard type (mostly permanent) glue than it is virtually impossible.

Be aware not to melt it!!!!

    Good Luck

  • Get an orbital polishing mop and some polish. Mask off the painted areas. Polish until crystal clear. Simples mircat. Why buy an expensive kit when your regular polish will do the job?

  • There are many ways of doing things with varying results. The same is for headlight restoration. The choice is what degree of success is good enough for you. If you are looking to get Professional results then I suggest trying my headlight restoration kit. When you use it then and only then will you see the difference. You will be amazed. Look at videos and you will see the results headlight after headlight looking like new not just clean but like new and that's guaranteed!!

  • i herd toothpaste just as fine, matter of fact, i did it to my car and it look better than this

  • open fix your mind.com

  • GREAT VIDEO THE LIGHTS LOOK PERFECT NOW

  • @williejwrightjr I think they installed new ones. I find it hard to believe they cleaned the top on the headlight casing so well!

  • @kbaldeo you obviously do not live in Florida, and near beach side.

  • $0.99 tooth paste will do the same or any mild abrasive agent.

  • The car I want to get has Hideaway headlights so I don`t think I should worry about this. I also shouldn`t worry because I`m 14.

  • eso es mentira tuya, si no las pulido como se queda asi? yo creo que es mentira

  • why would the headlamps look like this in the first place??????

  • if you wet sand and spray clear coat they last longer. inside clean with rubbing alcohol and let dry. course this takes longer.

  • Nice job!

  • @bestclarkesspot

    Thank you

  • Ok. I need some help with my tail lights. They are clean on the outside. But on the inside behind the class. There is dust. Almost like gravel dust. Ho can I clean my tail lights out?

  • @FloydRoseDiscovery

Try removing the bulb and get a small rag or small vacuum hose and vacuum it out.

You have to get a little creative

  • use t-cut or some other paint scratch remover. or even a metal polish, then just wax them when you wax the rest of the car to keep them super bright, shiny and clean.

  • @lFlameZz

That may work as a temporary fix on some headlights but for a longer lasting solution is to restore your headlights the professional way. Sand it and seal it. Get everything you need to do it right the first time with our headlight restoration kit at FixMyHeadlights com

  • howdy!

  • All problems you may have is solved when you buy a Mercedes , Why plunder whith a bmw or other look alikes :o)

  • @edorfsen1

Mercedes headlights are NOT immune to getting foggy or discolored. I have personally restored a fair amount of Mercedes.

  • wow, you sprayed some water on it, and cleaned them. veeeeeeery much restoration! i must say

  • 3:45 that dude just wanted to get the fuck outta there

  • oh dear I am late cause my A3 lights had the same problem and i ve bought new not original for save money but if i knew before i save much more...

    grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • @MAXXAM2104

You would have had your OEM headlights looking like new. instead of the after market ones. Share this with your friends so they don't make the same mistake

  • god damnit this guy is gay

  • All i ever saw was billions of comments how superduper it is or how just toothpaste is enough. Funny, noone tells in his comments, how long it lasted before he had to repeat the process again.

I`m sure, that the result will make the user happy, but IMO there is nothing better than a set of new plastic covers ;)

  • @iiiYEDDLEiii

We have been giving a one year warranty on our service since FEB 2007. Now you can get our EZ to use headlight restoration kit. In the kit has the same system we use in our service so will have the same professional results. Visit our website FixMyHeadlights com and look at the headlight restoration kit instruction step by step video. Check it out

  • What are you doing wrong to get your headlights in that condition? Don't you ever wash them?

  • @Argantonis

Not washing your headlight is not what causes your headlights to get foggy or hazy. First today headlights are made from plastic not glass anymore. Debris from traffic basically sand blast your headlights. The stuff from the atmosphere settles on your headlights and the UV ray from the sun finishes it up causing them to oxidized. In a nutshell that's how your headlights get foggy. Our headlight restoration kit is the solution to hazy or foggy headlights.

  • HAHAHAHA

Its called cleaning your car ;p

  • Just buy new headlight lens covers it like $30 and save your time and money

  • @kokaxxx Not for a BMW! Try more like $300, unless you're looking at the ebay rubbish.

  • @joelmusicman

    You are correct about that

  • fake and gayy

  • I have my own headlight restoration business as well. Great job...

  • this is so fucking badass!

  • "yellow lights" appears like French cars from 70's..

  • the best restoration kit i have seen and used on 2 of my vehicles is the 3m kits, where you use a electric drill with a 3 step sanding and polishing.

  • @trailertrash20010

3M does have a good kit. I have tested it. The problem is the headlights get back foggy within a couple of months so you have to keep polishing them every month. Plus using a drill can be a bit intimidating for a lot of people.

However our EZ2 use headlight restoration kit from FixMyHeadlights com is a 4 step process. 1)Wet sand by hand 2)Polish by hand or machine, 3)Clean 4) most important SEAL the headlights. That's what makes the difference the sealer

  • Comment removed

  • Everyone talking about DIY stuff - don't forget that there're people, who don't have tools, like rotary sending machine, etc,..polish would cost $50 bucks, they won't give you few drops. All in all, for someone, who don't have tools, DIY stuff starts out equally or more costly, and without professional results (unless you're experienced with these projects). I wonder if it is worth the investment and time.

  • @mamatalu

Our EZ2 use headlight restoration has everything you need to restore your hazy headlights. NO POWER TOOLS REQUIRED! This is the same system we use in the field since 2007. We don't just clean headlights we make them look like new Guaranteed!

  • nice job but beamer looks pretty fuckin filthy...i need to tell that guy to wash his car..

  • Bought a kit for $8 Bucks the other day at Pep boys, and I followed the instructions and my headlights look like glass. And you charge $75 to restore two headlights???

You don't get much buisness, do you?

  • @FemaleBreasts

We keep pretty busy since 2007. Thanks for asking

  • Or... for 30 bucks a pop you could buy a new cover....

  • sure glad i have glass lens instead of cheap composite nowadays

  • Saabkyle04 does a great video on how to do this yourself! Just check his videos out.

  • use WD-40

  • Sedan lenses on the E46 are replaceable. So basically you just wasted a buttload of time.

  • well, my 320d (the same generation) had headlights as bad as this once. I washed them, and the result was the same as you ''restoring'' them, and asking money :D no offence, man, but the same thing can be done with a bit of soap and water and a rug ;)

  • this still looks like poop. u need to to do a more coarse dry sand, then wet sand, then polish...presto. new plastic

  • @JohnnySw1f7

Please have your eyes checked you may be seeing blurry.

  • walmart does this for 40 bux. both lights. great results. they mask the car, etc..

  • I restored mine. I used 600, 800, 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper following it with some polish. It looks like these ones that he did but it just took a little bit longer. How much do you charge? I might use you next time.

  • hey i'm working on a '03 325i and i did the sanding and the steps after but they look dim, almost as if they were blacked out...? there clean now though thats for sure lol the rest just seems a little strange.. any suggestions?

  • @9rexx

You need to get our headlight restoration kit. It has everything you need to restore your headlight like new.

  • @9rexx He says the headlights are in terrible shape...the damn car is beat to hell.

Dont waste money on BS "kits" all you need is Meguiars Plast X ($5.97 at Wal Mart) and a cotton rag. Even if headlights are completely caked on yellow oxidation this will clear them.

I had a Porsche Cayenne that was U G L Y. This made the lighst crystal clear. try it ...literally takes 2 minutes...maybe 4 each light if they are bad enough.

  • dude i just looked on your website 79.99 per pair, you are ripping people of good time dude.

  • lol thats not a permanent fix, that last maybe a couple of months, maybe a year, then there back hazy?

  • @Mark12ga

Work the maths $20 = your headlight looking like new for at least 1 year. Leave it foggy for 1 year = your chances of getting in an accident while driving at night time - very pricy

  • i wonder if toothpaste would work

  • @unit666industries

Get a buffing machine and give it a try. A cheap buffer is about $29. Our headlight restoration kit $19.95 guaranteed to look like new.

  • @unit666industries It could possibly lol, woluld be quite innovative.

  • @unit666industries it will work but not as good as this service>> the headlights came out looking better than the job i did on my car..

  • hey .. good stuff!. I probably should have tried before I got new lenses for my bimmer

    .

  • hey .. good stuff!. I probably should have tried before I got new lenses for my bimmer.

  • just use toothpaste

  • Over the years I have met many people who have tried the toothpaste but they did not get the type of results that we have been able to give them with our headlight restoration service or headlight restoration kits.

See for yourself go to fixMYheadlights com

  • @abes4u2

You sound like a curry muncher who is spieling his wares...

  • @abes4u2 yuh cooolllie mudacunt !

  • @starkidd103

I am surprise at your limited vocab. I thought my people had more class!!

  • @abes4u2 ....... Yea your the type if person that kissis the white man ASS ! so with that being said SHUT YUH KOOOLIIIIE MUDACUNT ! thank you bye !

  • @abes4u2 i used toothpaste on my e46 and it was great... after toothpaste polishing i sprayd a clear coat of lacquer and it was perfect, like new!!

  • @abes4u2 You do a great job! and completely understand why people allways give you crap....I have my own headlight restoration business and have people say the same thing over and over....things like "just use brake cleaner" or use WD-40 or "toothpaste". NOW those are temporary fixes!!! or dont even work at all.

  • @abes4u2 They have to remember that not all headlights are the SAME! and not all take the same amount of time to fix. This method picks up scratches and rock pitting and sanding is the ONLY way to remove them....."CLEARING" over headlights only hides these imperfections..... run water over your headlights and they will become "clear" but once the water dries your back to square one again .....Keep up the good work!!

  • @abes4u2 YOUR NOT GONNA DO IT FOR FREE THATS FOR SURE......GREAT WORK!

  • excellent job on the restoration!

  • how does he see when hes driving?

  • is the hood open?

  • dont waste your money. just do some diy things. for example. toothpaste. sanding headlights causes the lens to become yellower after each time its done.

  • @RainingSushi

I really don't know where you get your information but I have been restoring headlights professionally for over 4 years and i have experimented with all kinds of stuff to get the best results. Based on those experiments i have concluded that the best way to restore cloudy foggy headlights is the wet sanding process and then sealing them. Check out our headlight restoration kit on FixMyHeadlights -com

  • @abes4u2

    An experienced headlight restorer?

You should have your own show ;p

  • @RainingSushi

even though i'm a more do it yourself guy, i think its good that this guy is making a business of it.

stimulating the economy with that good ole American work. there was a demand he supplies the service

  • @RainingSushi you have no idea what you are talking about, thats why he uses a sealer at the end of the process, and sanding is really the only way to do a professional job, not half assed with toothpaste

  • @LouieBlu before you jump to conclusions, i know exactly what the fuck i am talking about. if you know what you are talking about, you should know that over time and constant action headlights eventually become more damanged. remember its plastic, this stuff doesn't regenerate.

  • @RainingSushi This is a one time maybe two time process, The Polycarbonate Plastic is pretty thick, a hard impact resistant plastic, and in imho if you use a really good sealer like Opti-Coat, you wont have to worry about your headlights for years to come after the first restore, so yeah Mr. Toothpaste guy I do know what the Fuck I am Talking about

  • @LouieBlu lolololol why u mad bro hahahah

  • You sound Trinidadian.

  • nothing mr. clean magic eraser cant handle.

  • Use sandpaper 600 800 1200 to remain white and then give 3m abrasive polish and gloss medium and emerge as new

  • @chiritamarian

Sanding and polishing is only the headlight cleaning part of the headlight restoration process. You need remove any residual polish and the seal them. Now you can get our easy to use headlight restoration kit which has everything I use to restore headlight for the past 4 years. See for yourself go to FixMyHeadlights com

  • What were you spraying on the lights while you were sanding them down? I have an 05 325i with headlights that are cloudy as well

  • @wJohn1000

Use plain water to sand. Now available from fixmyheadlights is an easy to use headlight restoration kit. Check out the youtube instructional video on my channel

  • Question, I have this same exact car but with Factory xenon headlights, the headlights look great but I can see them fading up a little, will the cost still be $75, I mean I think the restoration process on my car will take like 5 minutes. I just want them to look new. Is cost determined depending on the severity of the headlights?

  • @Johncarson9113

In order to restore your foggy headlights to look like new the entire lens has to be sanded down to the virgin plastic. That means we have to remove the existing manufacturer seal which in German cars take more time. But we charge the same flat rate. You can now order our easy to use Headlight Restoration Kit. It is the same headlight restoration system we use in our service. Check it out on Fix My Headlights com

  • @Johncarson9113 you have the same car? lucky bastard!

  • @PhybriX Wetsanding does not harm your headlights unless you use some really coarse sandpaper. I have sanded my X5 headlights about 4 times and they still work and look great! Currently we are selling a headlight restoration kit but it is not on the site yet. This kit has everything you need to restore your foggy headlights to look like new. visit fixMYheadlights com and give us a call. The sealer in this kit is fantastic plus easy to use. Chances are your current sealeris already gone

  • You do a mos excellent job on it but I just am a fan of buying new headlights aha : )

  • @200twistatwista To each his own my friend. Just keep in mind restoring headlights is going GREEN

  • If I owned a BMW I certainly would not be cheap.

    Replace headlights definally.

  • @200twistatwista Restoring your headlights is not being cheap. It is being SMART!! Here is why: You maintain you original headlights, Cleaning and restoring your headlights you will SAVE lots of money also restoring your headlights is GREEN. Visit fixmyheadlights com and learn about some more benefitsof headlight restoration.

  • @abes4u2 lol i drive a beamer and I'm most def doing this and not buying new ones!!!

  • @macktruck07

I think that is a very wise decission. Headlight restoration with a kit or a pro will definately save u money and your car will look great plus your night driving will feel a lot safer.

  • how about the mildew that is growing inside of the lenses as a result of water getting into a headlight?

  • @aleksankazakov headlight restoration kits can only clean and restore the outside surface of your foggy headlights. However water, moisture in your headlights requires a different prodedure. Most likely the seal between your headlight body and the clear plastic is broken. Chances are you may have to replace it, if it is very discolored on the inside from moisture. To see what you can do Go to FixMyHeadlights com

  • how many time will stay like new after the restoration?

  • @klitoni1

They can last about 1 to 2 years depending what type of sealer we finish with. WE now have a do it yourself headlight restoration kit available. It is easy to use as we have designed a self leveling sealer to give professional results everytime once you follow the instructions.

  • what solution is the first you spray on the headlight, is it water??? what grit is the sand paper??? thanx

  • @N3gRU2008

You can use water but now we have available a headlight restoration kit you can get with everthing you need to restore your headlights to look like new. Give us a shout !!

  • Thank you for doing it right. I do this service too, ONLY this service, not where you live of course! And customers appreciate when you do not cut corners. And I have done my share of these, its a very hard plastic. The 7 series is the toughest BMW to me due to its shape. Thanks again!

  • MrKeyboardcrazy

You are correct in doing the best job you can. Pulling short cuts will cause you to loose customers. Headlight restoration is more than just simply cleaning or polishing headlights. Yes BMW headlamp lenses are harder and does require a little more attension. Good luck to you and I wish you all the best in your biz.

  • @MrKeyboardcrazy

Our headlight restoration kit will be available in the begining of Feb 2011. It is very to use plus it is long lasting.

    Go to fixMYheadlights com

  • which liquid did u use ??

  • @pedro8991

I use a high quality sealer. It is one of the most important step in headlight restoration. Because plastic headlights are porous, if you don't seal them after wetsanding they will get oxidized within a short period of time.

  • @abes4u2 thank you

  • @pedro8991

    Glad to help.

    Happy holidays.

  • what happened to the protective film? man looks like he screwed that lens up.

  • @jbergado

Yes you are correct. Because he left his headlights to oxidize so badly the sealer was completely distroyed
