The facility with which Gould can play inner voices clearly is always astonishing, e.g, the part beginning at 2:24. But, oddly, he does not play the stretto theme in the left hand beginning at 2:42, waiting for 2:46 to bring it out. I'm sure he had his reasons.
I find such voicings one of the most difficult aspects of playing the piano.
@MaestroTJS Richter tends to emerge (I really don't know which word will be the correct one to use, but I hope you understand the main idea) the theme in each voice much more than Gould who pays attention also to other details and sometime plays all the voices evenly although the theme appears in one of them. As you said, he do it for a reason of course and the reasons change from one piece to another. But it is always fresh and interesting.
Eine hervorragende Darbietung. Gould hat diese E-Dur-Fuge int verschiedenen Tempi eingespielt, hier eine langsame und sehr gläserne Version. Einfach genial1
Anyone who claims that Glenn Gould plays without emotion is seriously disturbed.

Beautiful!
Thank you for posting it.
I love Richter's version also, but Gould touches deep place in your heart.

This is a slow interpretation--his recorded version is much faster.
