No no no no no no no. Phantom and Beauty and the Beast do not go together at all. Yes, there are similarities, but you are comparing a fairy tale to a gothic romance. In your description, you mention the beauty in the heart. Erik has no beauty in his heart: he has been twisted into a cruel murderer. And he hardly transforms into a handsome prince at the end. Christine's prince is Raoul, who saves her from Erik's lunacy.

Actually, he was warped long before Raoul came along. You get a lot of evidence of this in the book but even if you've only seen the movie, he has a history of child abuse and psychological torture. He did kill the gypsy man. He really does have issues if he's pretending to be an angel to seduce a naive teenager. Don't get me wrong: I love Erik as a character, but Gerik... not so much.

Great video and movie!I must say I think that phantom is the beauty here and Christine the beast for chosing Roaul, although it's realistic that she chose Roaul because phantom was a murderer. But I was heartbroken for a week after I saw this movie because she didn't chose the Phantom.
