  • I saw part of the movie "Speak". It was really good. :) Aaaand....when I heard about "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" from a different person, I looked for it in the High School library...and..they did. not. have it! I was kinda saddened. But, I guess now I'll have to try to find it at Barnes & Noble or Borders or something.

  • I respect you alot =)

  • Oh my gosh! I love your list!

  • It always gives me a great pleasure when I find a fellow Chuck Palahniuk fan! LOVE YOU!

  • Oh, my God, Stevie, I love you to death for numbers one and three. Speak is like my favorite book ever, and I actually read The Perks of Being a Wallflower because of that other video, and I loved it! I've also read numer 5, and I'm going to go buy all the other ones you named. :)

  • The Perks of being a Wallflower is AMAZING!!! :D

  • lmfao @ the synopsis's of some of those

  • i read perks of being a wallflower it wasn't the best but i really liked the book. i let my friend read and she loved it too

  • this wasn't boring stevie! :D it's actually helpful because i need books to read that aren't boring. so YAY thank you!

  • This was not boring! I loved it, some I have read but I'm going to reference back to this vid so I don't forget your other recommendations :)

  • The 'Guts' story is awful, isn't it? haha

  • I love Chuck Palaniuk!!

Perks of Being a Wallflower is great, too!

  • you should read q+a which is what slumdog millionaire is based off of. its really good.

  • books are the BEST thigns to do for top ten! I could do freaking top 100, NEVER apologize for being a book nerd ;) The only ones I haven't read are the Chuck Palainiuk, although my sister has been trying to get me to read him for forever. Its not that I don't want to...I actually don't have a good reason, I have no idea why I haven't read him, so I'm going to my library tomorrow I swear!

  • thank you! book recommendations are always a good thing.

  • i like how in invisible monsters her life is turned 'upside down' and she was once beautiful then ugly, and you fli[p the book upside down and the girl on the front becomes an ugly woman :) its clever

  • i LOVE that book "speak". not like. LOVE. haha. you're not alone...

i remember my friend being assigned to read it in school, andddd i would take it from her, and read it because i was so into it.

they made a movie, kristin stewart actually played the girl and she did a pretty wicked job. did you see it?

  • I forgot! Marshmallow means Gay now. 5 Awesome Marshmallows!

  • Thanks for the recommendations. No Coelho, huh?

Loved Catcher In the Rye, but it wasn't depressing. It's what he says in the end that changes the whole story around.

  • Have you read his newer book Rant?

  • Oh My Bob! The Perks of Being a Teenage Wallflower is my all time favorite book ever! I know Im behind the times on your guy's videos but yeah, amazing book. "Are you thirsty?" "uh huh" "What do you want to drink?" "Milkshake." "Are you hungry?" "uh huh" "What do you want to eat?" "Milkshake." ROFL I know Im insane...whatev.
  • aahhh I was going to write a comment half way through the video asking about Perks, and when you said number one I was like GASP. haha

  • I LOVED Speak. I haven't read, like, any of the others. But I've seen people with them at school. Maybe I'll check 'em out! (:

  • I love The perks of being a wallflower!

We had to read it for english class and I was like the only one in my class who liked it..

  • chuck palahniuk is an amazing author.

    i love his book lullaby!

    ahh its amazing.

and im currently reading diary from him.

my best friend julia is actually reading invisible monster.

i have like 7 other buck palahniuk on my to read list <3

  • Invisible monsters is one of the best books ever. The ending just made my jaw drop (XD)

  • Stevie I like you but you really don't read a wide variety of books, do you?

  • If you're ever looking for a good book try anything by Jodi Picoult. She is sooo amazing. Her books draw you in. I can read a book by her in a day. The only thing...they're REALLY sad. If you want a suggestion as to what one to start with I would say either Ninteen Minutes (about a school shooting) or the Pact (about a suicide pact). Those are probably on my top.

  • Bookworms are the best! no faults for doing a top ten book list!

  • I love David Sedaris. He's hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing through most of the essays in Naked and When You Are Engulfed In Flames. I want to go check out those other books now that you've mentioned. Thanks!

  • wow I just read guts.... that was fucked up

I always used to have a fear of getting my hair caught in the pool pump lol

  • i love speak. :)

  • I'm reading Haunted right now and it's legit disgustingggg, but I love it!

My next read is Invisible Monsters and Diary :)

  • #7 - One of my favourites!!!

  • CHUCK PALAHNIUK. IS MY LIFE. AHHHHH. and guts omgggg so gross. especially the one where the kid jacks off the way his brother told him to.... bleeeeeeh

  • lol I shouldn't have watched this video - a new book list is the last thing I need :p My school just got a shipment of 300 new books today, and a large number of them are fiction... I specifically asked for a bunch of LGBT fiction too, so now I have tons of books I need to read before I graduate in June!

  • You are WONDERFUL. Chuck Palahniuk is THE greatest author of all time.

  • i loved snuff and white oleander :]

  • Oh my God, Speak was amazing! I couldn't believe LHA actually managed to make it funny, but somehow it was.

You have great taste in books. :)

    <3 B.

  • Speak was made into a Lifetime movie. It was pretty crazy.

have you read the fuck up? someone recommended it to me since i liked perks and it was pretty excellent.

  • the fuck up is really good too! i'll put my stamp of approval there--and considering i loved like 8 of the 10 books you listed stevie, i think youll like it too. it freaked me out that I just started reading the curious incident of the dog in the night-time about an hour before i watched this video. great list :)

  • Perks is great...great list

  • i've read all but the book "naked"

    great choices!!

  • Comment removed

  • i love love love speak i had to read it in 9th grade but i love it so much ive read it like 5 times

  • I loved curious incidents and perks!

I'll definitely check out those other books.

  • catcher is the worst thing ever! just cuz i hated it

  • Yes Naked rocked... his family is a riot.

  • We are probably bookworm soulmates. POBW was the type of book that when I finished it (same day I started it) I literally still couldnt put it down. I kept it in my bag days after. Salinger has to be one of my favorite authors as well, Catcher in the Rye was brilliant but you can't get a good grasp on who is he is as a writer until you read Franny and Zooey.

Oh and I just read that short story in Haunted not too long ago. I LITERALLY SCREAMED.

I feel like a geek for liking this video alot lol

  • I love how you link everything. Thanks! I've read some of these and want to read the others for sure.

  • I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower this weekend, and it was one of the best books I've read. :D I should be reading Speak tomorrow.

  • I'm glad you did it on books!

    Favorited it =)

  • Sadly i have not read speak but i have seen the movie it has the girl from twilight in it...the one who plays bella. I think i might read the book the movie was very moving

  • ohh I love Perks so much. I love Palahniuk and The Curious Incident... too and when I saw you liked The Catcher in the Rye I was hoping POBW would come up somewhere.

I think every teen should read that book, it's amazing.

    :)

  • have you (or anyone really) read perks since high school? i loved loved loved it in hs but i'm scared to read it again now that i'm 23 cause i think i'll have a totally different opinion of it...

  • OMFG! Speak is like my ULTIMATE favorite book everrr! They made it into a movie tooo! Another by Laurie Halse Anderson is Catalyst! I recomend those books to EVERYONE!

  • 5awesomefags

  • thanks stevie!! im buying everyone books for birthdays now hahah

  • Omg pofbaw is my favoorittee

Glad you did it on books btw

  • i just read that guts story you mentioned...

now i'm afraid to go swimming =/

but it was still pretty good

  • Chuck Palahniuk is completely amazing, I lvoe all his books.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, really? Thats a terrible book.

Catcher In the Rye also amazing.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is the best book ever.

Also books is the best topic for any top ten list, well actually actually it ties with top ten songs.

    Yeah, that's all.

  • no one in the world likes catcher in the rye. you sir, are on drugs

  • r ur eyes purple?

  • i'm almost finished reading Naked, i love it

  • I know this sounds weird but everytime I finish a Chuck Palahniuk book I feel so normal.

  • white oleander was amazing!

i read the books and saw the movie.

    it was great.

  • i just read Curious incedent, and i've read speak. GREAT book. Nice choices!! Now i want to read the others

  • We have the same #1 book. And I can see that many others do as well.

It's the only book I have ever read more than once.

  • haha, HAUNTED was the first chuck palahniuk book i read. i retold the story "guts" to all my friends for years. insane.

  • I loved this video! You're so right about Perks. It's sort of a 21st century Catcher in the Rye. Also, I'm so glad that you included Sedaris. He's excellent.

  • I think you should always do your videos that are talking about top whatever on books. I now have nine new books I'm going to Border's Books to get. You're amazing!

  • can you please say oleander again in your next video

  • I now have 9 more books to read, haha. Thanks for the suggestions!!!

  • david and chuck are my absolute favorite ever.

  • i fucking love the book speak!!!!

  • im starting to say hi and bye like you:D

  • Not everyone likes "Catcher", actually. We had to read it in English and I just stopped at the 13th chapter - that's how bad I thought it was, and I really dislike the way it's written... Made it difficult for me to stay focused.

Chuck is my hero though. I'm so awesome for having my Fight Club signed by him, aren't I? Yeah, I am.

Perks is probably one of my favourite books. I read it over a year ago, loved it, and bought it a week ago just to own it.

  • i loved this! :]

  • Stevie, I agree. Perks is the best book and I liked the fact that you did it on books. They all sound really good and so many people have recommended that I read a David Saderis (or however you spell it) book and I think I will. :D

  • They made a movie out of Speak, starring Kristen Stewart. It's kind of an indie movie... IT'S INCREDIBLEEEEEEE. :D

  • OMG, that's so funny, I am currently reading Choke..weird

  • We definitely like the same authors. I'm so glad to hear someone else mentioning all of these greats. (I'm reading a David Sedaris book right after reading Choke, haha, small world.)

  • i love the book Snuff.

the only book i read of the ones u listed was the catcher in the rye. i read it when i was a junior in high school. i didn;t like it. it could be because i was in high school and i hated reading. tehe! but i want to read the one u gave number one and choke. thanks for the great vid!

  • The perks of being a wallflower is my favorite book of all time.

im so sad because i let my now ex-bf borrow when we were together, then we broke up and now i dont think ill ever get it back. lol

  • Stevie, you should read Post Cards from No Man's Land by Aiden Chambers. It's about this British guy goes England to meet his grandpa's lady-friend who helped him during WWII. He meets this transvestite that helps him uncover his grandpa's story and there are flashbacks to WWII from the woman's point of view, and there are wonderful twists! It's just beautifully written, hilarious, and hard to put down!

  • wow it seems like you have GREAT taste in books. Or, at least the same taste in books as I do.

I haven't read any of the books you mentioned, but how you described them makes me want to go out and get 'em all!!! :-D

    <33

  • I love Chuck Palahniuk ! I'd have a bunch of his books in my top ten too. And also Tom Robbins and Haruki Murakami who I love.

  • red car glitched at the end a bit, he had to do a bit more of a swirve to round it out. Also at the end notice that the bell boy on the right tries to wave to the models. Easy. Slow down, cut the wheel and nail the accelerator. Only works with RWD manual.

  • I have The Perks of Being a Wallflower sitting on my shelf. Maybe I'll read it now.

  • perks is amazing

    <3 (:

  • If only I read...
