  • this video isn't fake I was in Phoenix when this happened. I am from Los Angeles and I was visiting my girlfriend at the time she went to ASU.. this storm sucked balls. It knocked the power out, broke trees, tore down sheds etc. kinda of scary if your not used to it. But we still drove around in it which probably wasn't smart, we went and saw Transformers 3 that night..

  • one big ol 'boob

  • that looks so scary, if I was a tourist in that situation I would have a heart attack!

  • I live in Gilbert and looked out the kitchen window looking at the San Tan Mountains and the wall was coming right at us. Only had time to grab my still camera and not the video. Once it hit, we could not see across the street the visibility was so bad.

  • @Peglomaniac. They tend to come mainly from the southern part of the state where its mainly desert, However I have seen them come from the west and on a rare occasion from the east.

  • too much weed

  • Somewhere in this video, Tom Cruise is running from it.

  • fake

  • Lol.

  • HA! Boob.

  • These duststorms, otherwise known as haboobs, are the result of decaying summer thunderstorms over the dry desert floor. Cold air downdrafts from the top of these giant thunderstorms (fueled by surface temps of 110 degrees or more), fall straight down from high altitude and hit the desert floor. The subsequent outflow winds pick up the dust in a huge wall and can push outward for 100+ miles. Low visibility is the biggest danger from these storms as well as horrific air quality.

  • @AZsmclaughlin would be cool while travelling to see such awesome weather storms like this and tornados.. don't get these at all where I live, at all

  • What is this vulcaino or what?!

  • @Rockstarsss If Bush would still be president, he would have said that it was a terrorist attack made by Iran and therefor, invation is necessary.

  • What causes them? To be so HUGE

  • Haboob: Yummy!

Citizen: umm you sure the whole city is yummy?

Haboob: O_O your kinda right----- *Rewinds* and there thats how you reverst a disaster.

    Please correct me.

  • To cover the UFO that's flying over ; p

  • HA boob

  • Mummy returns :D

  • They're usually followed by massive and very dangerous thunderstorms. These usually occur during the end of the summer which is when our Monsoon Season starts.

  • I've lived in Phoenix all my life these are nothing scary it's just hard to see in them. However it is cool to watch the Cloud of dust come creeping in and it doesn't look like it's moving fast until it hits your area then it's like all hell breaks loose, trees being knocked down, Power lines blown down, even windows being broken. They are hard to see in.

The worst one I've ever seen was back in 1999 when several houses literally lost their roofs in my neighborhood

  • @TheyTookMyBrain - do you recall what direction the dust storm came from? Do they usually come from the same direction?

  • nevermind its dust

  • is this a cloud or what
