  • The score was amazing as well! Gotta love Trent Reznor

  • This movie wasss soo above my expectations. I felt obligated to see hte film since i love facebook, and I'm glad I did. It was funny, interesting, and I've never been more jealous of someone.

Though I know this has a lot of Hollywood glitz, and drama, I liked it so much.

  • Even though I was kicked out of Facebook for not being an active member I thought The Soical Network was a fascinating dramatic movie.

  • I just rewatched this film and I loved way more the second time, so great

  • Glad to see you also liked the movie! Do you think Timberlake should have gotten a Oscar nom for best supporting actor?

  • Comment removed

  • This movie is great. I love everything about this movie. Probably my second favorite of the year, next to Inception, considering how much I enjoyed that movie. Jesse Eisenburg better be nominated for Best Actor, and it'd be cool if he won. This will probably be nominated for Best Picture too, but Black Swan will probably take it. Oh well, but this movie is phenomenal 5/5

  • goddamnit tom! review the fucking LOTR trilogy!

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • If you said you were Jeremy Jahn's nephew, I would believe it.

  • Andrew Garfield is American he was born in LA

  • Who is the person you wouldn't add as a friend?

  • yeah the twin is freakin amazing!

  • everyone like tom on facebook!! he is an amazing movie reviewer!!!!!

  • the social network is breathtaking and soon the whole worlds gona be taking over by the internet and facebook once u start using facebook you will never go back trust me i know ;) i cant wait till this movie gets a chance in the academy award

  • I love facebook, but I didn't really like this movie :*(

  • @BloodyTearsofLove

You were probably expecting to see some happy dumbed-down tween movie about how Facebook came to exist. Sorry, this film requires intelligence to view and understand. I think most people who dislike it are angry that they couldn't keep up with most of the dialogue.

  • @calmsnowfall I am a high intellectual, and i did understand most of the dialogue, it had nothing to do with why I disliked this movie. -.-

  • Dont forget the amazing Screenplay!

  • but it was pretty good

  • I just saw this movie last night I dont what I think about it yet beacuse its my type of movie

  • tom say hi please it would mean soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo mucn

  • @Kataang102 Hi!

  • @TomChatalbash thanks

  • @TomChatalbash I will have fan vid for you soon

  • I wanna see this I heard it was fantasic

  • Hey Guys, I have a new youtube channel of movie reviews. So if you could subscribe, rate and comment ill be sure to keep it going and give all kinds of feedback!

  • I DON;T USE FACEBOOK

  • Jeremy Jahns + You= EPIC AWESOMNESS !

  • David Fincher made it, of course its good.

  • was it better than inception???????

  • Awesome awesome review! I knew you'd hit this one on the head, like no other critic. (RIP QuickMovieReviews.) Hey I'm not on Facebook...! But you can friend Dad, lol!!

  • @GabnDad haha thanks and hey, I just might do that lol.

  • FINALLY an entertaining movie with humor, characters, plot which leaves you with something to think about. I enjoyed this movie so much. I know the main character is not 'friend' worthy, but neither was Darth Vader. Maybe if we support this 'real' movie more movies like this will be made! Highly recommended!

  • Oh to lindeberg's comment that making a movie about the creation of Facebook and the reality of it's process. This is what u feel is stupid but I bet you believe creating movies emulating comic book characters is more respectable. Your the idiot who most likely is compensating for his tiny dick. Get real man.

  • I agree completely with you but there is one element I believe would have made it even more memorable- A kick Ass score should have been composed. Just my opinion.

  • I Dont use Facebook but I still want to see the movie.

  • @lovetv13 i DON;T USE FACEBOOK,SO I WILL WAIT FOR THE DVD

  • is it better than inception?

  • @hicky0000 I think so.

  • @teeahtate still inception was awesome

  • FUCK YES! THE MOVIE I WANTED TO SEE IS WORTHY OF VIEWING

    THANKS TOM<3

  • Those are so his mannerisms

  • i see ur fan in the refliction of the picture :)

  • better than inception?

  • you know this is absolutely nothing like it happened in real life right?

  • I can name one person who doesn't use Facebook: ME! Seriously, my school has a rule against Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc, but thankfully not YouTube, haha. Great review as always, Sir Chatalbash

  • Wow...I'm shocked! From the trailer the movie seemed terrible. You got me excited to see it.

    Great review!

  • It was AMAAAZZIIINNNG!!!! This and Inception are tied for my favorite movies of the year!

  • i saw you on line at the movies last night! =O i'm also the guy that said hi to you in school that morning so i kinda felt weird saying "hi" a second time haha

  • Tom, I have a question.... is it better than Fight Club or Se7en, or both? I love David Fincher and want to know where this ranks among his best work.

  • Funny I just watched the LOTR trilogy and I was thinking the same thing about The Hobbit. More proof that we are brothers Tom :)

  • wow i knew this wld b a good movie. to have reassurance from u iis great to hear.can't wait to see it in HK

  • @Maryyeung12894 it is amazing

  • Okay, I was only marginally interested in this film, but you've convinced me to give it a chance. I'll see if it lives up to your praise.

  • @trekkerbud it definitlry does it was insane

  • Would you say the film is better, as good or not as good as Inception?

  • @TheComedyfan123 I would rate both "Inception" and "The Social Network" a 10, but I liked "The Social Network" slightly more. Don't get me wrong, both films are some of my favorites of 2010, but I find "The Social Network" a little better due to its stronger acting, stronger script, and it's so layered. Although, honestly, you can't go wrong on either one. However, I highly suggest someone sees both films. Both are very good examples of quality filmmaking.

  • @face2faceish1 I was actually asking Tom. Sorry.

  • @TheComedyfan123 Oh... haha. Well, at least you can have two opinions.

  • I enjoyed this film very much but damn when you like a film you cream over it. Every film has problems; there is no such thing as a perfect film. idk maybe I am crazy and it's just me but I feel like you exaggerated wayy too much about how great this movie was.

That being said, it was definately one of the best of the year, up there with Inception...

  • OMG 5 outta 5 Im gonna go see this first thing tomorrow then!

  • carter smith does not use facebook

  • so am i the last person on earth to not have a Facebook

  • have you seen let me in yet? IT WAS OUTSTANDING! THE BEST VAMPIRE MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN AND THE BEST ROMANCE MOVIE I HAVE SEEN IN RECENT YEARS I MEAN THIS IS WHAT TWILIGHT SHOULD'VE DONE BUT THANKFULLY THIS ONE HAD GREAT PERFORMANCES.

  • @martin43427 Have you seen the actual original?

  • @martin43427 i did see the original and while it was fantastic, this had some things that that didn't have. like great musical score and atmosphere and other such things.

  • @martin43427 Watch the original

  • @thefrickenfilmcritic i have seen it. at least two times on my netflix.

  • @martin43427 Nice

  • @thefrickenfilmcritic just so you know, i am paul rai.

  • how can you have 500 million friends on facebook if your limit is 2,000? anyways, pretty good movie, nice review tom. and no, although the social network is good, it comes nothing close to inception in my opinion. fight club is a different story, its a....its just different.

  • I'd be interested to see a movie about the creation of YouTube. But I am personally EXTATIC for The Social Network and might see it tonight.

  • holy crap as good as inception!

  • so would u say its better than inception and alpha i think is one of the most criminally underated films ever...

  • @mike52216 underrated this movie is expected to be number one in the box office and has technically 100 percent on rotten tomatoes. Armand white and david edelstein don't count their trolls

  • @THEANnetWork no i was saying alpha dog is underated i love the social networ

  • is there any like sex in this film because its kind of awkard watching a sex scene with my dad

  • Has everyone forgotten about the social networks that were before Facebook? We got Myspace, Bebo, and many more. Where's the movies for those websites?

  • @Ryanmiller70 wth is bebo

  • @THEANnetWork It's like facebook for little kids.

  • i lovveeee the social network!!!!!!!!!!!! slightly..slightly better than inception

  • Is it better than Inception? Because I seriously doubt that, I also get the feeling that they've used quite a bit of dramatic license for the whole Facebook ordeal a bit in The Social Network... hmm.. I still might go see it, it does indeed look quite good IMO. Oh, and do you think it will hold up 10 years from now? How long do you think a social website is this popular? Just something to think about :)

  • Shit, I already decided all the movies I'll be seeing this month, and The Social Network is not one of them.

Well, I gotta watch this movie the week it comes here in Iceland, along with the movie I already decided to watch.

  • I want to see The Social Network again this weekend. SOOOOO good.

  • This is one of your top 5 fav movies of all time too?

  • I was thinking this movie would suck but with these positive reviews I might check it out. If not in theaters I'll probably rent it.

  • @nathsreeter i am flabergasted

  • Nice Alpha Dog shoutotut. Al pha Dog is one of my favorite movies, and it showed me that Justin Timberlake really could act. Nice review BTW. I'm seeing The Social Network today.

  • ditchh intro :)

  • this movie is definitely better than Inception/Dark Knight

  • i don't use facebook

  • It is better than the dark knight / inception ?

  • @chicocool654

  • Great review dude. Keep up being great Tom.

    Greetings from Argentina

    -Manuel.

  • So the founders of Facebook and Napstar knew each other back in college?

First I thought a Facebook movie sounded pretty boring, but everybody is saying what a great piece of film this is. Also, 97% on RottenTomatoes.

    Can't miss this one.

  • You want to know a person who doesn't use FB...?Then you are reading his comment lol FB is really popular in my country but it's not like in the US where EVERYONE uses it- I've heard it's really addictive and I already have enough things on my head that will keep me busy.Plus,I am already using Skype to talk to my friends which is also really popular here.

As Stan from South Park said: "I don't want to get sucked into Facebook!"

By the way, great review,Tom.Keep up the good work.

  • Hey man I miss your Seven Nation Army Intro!!!!!

  • tom it seems like you always agree with the consensus of the critics no matter what.

  • But this is not hoe facebook was made... it is a fiction

  • My most anticipated movie of the year, I need, I need, I need to see it! :p

  • damn tom alot of 5 out 5s this year! awsome review

  • I know a good amount of people who dont use facebook, by the way, you will see this once you get out of high school

  • What did you expect? David Fincher is a genius. Ok, none of his last Films was as good as Fight Club but still.

  • i don't use Facebook and i'm proud of it

  • ugh im SO GLAD jesse eisenburg stopped acting like michael cera. i cant wait to see this.

and, as for brits and american accents... watch charlie mcdonells accent video.. might be the exception haha.

and i thought JT was great in alpha dog, surprised me.

and my mom doesnt use FB, nor do my step dad or dad. =)

    im definitely gonna watch this.

  • people!!!!!U CAN TRUST TOM ,HES ALWAYS TOLD THE TRUTH ABOUT MOVIES!!!!!!AND IF U DONT TRUST HIM,THEN ITS UR LOSS!!!!!!BTW,TOM U ROCK!!!!

  • funny moment: peter Jackson, where is the hobbit?

  • YEAH, PETER JACKSON! Where IS the Hobbit?!

  • Seriously, where is the hobbit? I've been waiting ages! ive heard all these rumors and stuff, i'd like atleast to be a hobbit extra in it! I'm 5"1, they wont really have to make me look smaller!

  • Well there's your film that came close to the perfection that is Inception.

PS You know you wanna see Legend of the Guardians. You know you do.

  • Inception was your previous best movie of the year. Is The Social network better for you?

  • David Fincher + Christopher Nolan = Movie-gasim

  • @woodsy1234567890 a nolan produced and written movie directed by fincher would probably create a film of pure awesomeness. as a director i personally find fincher to be better than nolan.

  • Really looking forward to this film, David fincher never makes a film thats bad, his worst is probably alien 3, but saying that its still a pretty decent film. se7en and Zodiac are imo his two best. se7en is my favourite movie of all time, he directs it in such an artistic way, for example the library scene with sommerset, is just totally awesome with the classical music in the background looking through dante's inferno etc.

  • everyone in my family doesn't use facebook i deserve a award for that

  • FANTASTIC REVIEW, TOM!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS FILM NEXT WEEK!!! do you think that the social network is your favorite movie of 2010???

  • lol i just said on facebook yesterday justin timberlake was great in alpha dog and you Liked my status! thanks tom!

  • People mainly want to see this movie because.. "OMG FACEBOOK IS AAMZZMZMZMAING!! I NEEDDDED TO SEE THISSSS! YESSSS!" Sorry, but yeah.

  • Awesome review Tom I also agree where is The Hobbit?!

  • When I first heard about this movie I didnt want to see it. Then I heard JT was in it, didnt want to see it. Then I found out it was directed by Fincher.. And it started getting amazing reviews.. Now im overly excited to see it. :)

  • peter jackson is wasting time arguing with the new zealand actor union wich is actualy the austlian actor union. It strange and i dont even understand what both sides want he thinking of having to move it off shore.

  • I know MOST doesn't always mean 100%, but I don't think you're as reliable as you claim. Can I count on you not to tell lies about the stuff you review. Guess not.

  • @Serdikhan I don't tell a single lie in my review so I have no idea of what you're referring too. Also, being reliable isn't about being truthful, though I am in every review. It's about being able to be a good source for, in this case movie reviews, for moviegoers everywhere who are contemplating whether seeing a movie or not. If they trust me each week, then I'm reliable. So please, do think a little bit more before posting such a comment. I respect criticism, but yours doesnt apply. Good day.

  • @TomChatalbash Oh, you mean like you told the world some stunt double was doing most of Gyllenhaal's works, when the stunt double was not existant in the movie. And if you're wondering why "Inception" isn't in the 90-100 range of the Tomatometer, it's because it's a convoluted, pointless, and action shoved package filled with discrepancies and plotholes, wrapped with pretty effects. And I don't believe the movie will make a Billion by the end of it's run.

  • @Serdikhan you know inception is already rated 4th best film of all time on imdb, right?

  • Comment removed

  • @Serdikhan jake gyllenhaal did have a stunt double who is used in the movie quite a lot...... quote from gyllenhaal "No, in reality the majority of the parkour was done by the acrobats. But I did the fundamentals and the landings. ''

  • @Policestate2000 You mean used FOR the movie

  • @Serdikhan No, they are used in the movie, jake gyllenhaal cannot do the majority of those stunts in that film. he said himself .., the landins he done himself, do you seriously think he can do the flips etc in that film.....

  • @Serdikhan And that is your opinion. All the things you are stating that he "lied" about is his opinion, except for Gyllenhaal's stunts which was proven long ago that they were fake. He loved Inception (most people did), but you didn't. That's two different opinions. That doesn't mean he's unreliable or a bad movie reviewer. Just sayin'.

  • Comment removed

  • @Serdikhan... You've Just been CHATAL BASHED!!!

  • @TomChatalbash well said. *thumbs up*

  • @Serdikhan haha what are you even talking about?

  • great reivew and now that you have given it 5 stars I am even more pumped to see this movie

  • Awesome review. I absolutely agree 100% with everything you said. The Social Network is just a flawless masterpiece. It makes me sad that some people are not gonna see this because they think a Facebook movie is stupid. This film is really a big reflection on this current generation we're living in, and it also delves into some universal themes like acceptance. This is tied with Inception as my favorite film of the year. Btw, what did you think of Trent Reznor's score? I thought it was awesome.

  • Dude seriously? Favourite movie of the year? How could this have possibly been better than Inception??????????????????????

  • @batmanjokertwoface I never said it was better than Inception. I just said it is tied with it at the moment. I really enjoyed both movies for different reasons.

  • Comment removed

  • @TomChatalbash I watched Inception twice, and watching it for the second time, I thought it was okay. The first time, I thought it was amazing. I loved the Social Network, and I might plan on watching it the second time. I'm not sure which one would be my favorite for the summer. The Town was superb as well.

  • Awesome review. Extremely, extremely, super-duper excited for this movie. The script was fantastic. Also, who would've thought that three weeks in a row would see a 5 star rating for a movie each week?

  • great review

    got a questionfor you

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF HOLLYWOOD DOING A REMAKE OF TRUE GRIT??

  • Badass!!!
