Ian Dury and the Blockheads - Hit Me (2001 Remix)

I've always loved the original. I would have been very content just listening to that part of the track on an endless loop! I like this remix for that very reason - it's just one lengthy, processed repetative loop! I was at a Club in Liverpool years ago when I heard this track for the first, and last time, (until now), I appreciate why some people are not impressed and think it's "shite". For me, I guess it's about the association with a bloody great night out!

A nice breakbeat offering, I heard worse stuff released. For me the Brass could be a bit higher in the mix, but then I am a brass player! It seems a bit bassy in places, think you need more eq on the samples to them to bring it out a bit. Oh and your repeated section of beat are a bit obvious, kind of interrupts the flow sometimes.

As a huge Dury fan and a bass player I enjoyed this track.Ok the original is the original but this guy has done his own version and imoa done it justice,to say nothing of the editing work that must have went into it,even the concept.
